Morality with atheism... this is what I have.
Basically, those who act morally without any external reason are truly better people than those who act kindly only because they fear punishment or expect a reward. Basically, I reject the ´carrot´ or ´stick´ model. I simply do things because they are the right things to do. Am I arrogant to believe I know what is right and what is wrong? Maybe, but those who believe an invisible holy being gives them goodness are even more arrogant. ____________________ |

I believe collective goods should only be spent on those things which the free market cannot provide for in a just manner. Health care, on the other hand, is a matter of life, misery, or death and it is not profitable to help those in need, therefore it must be collective. A Randian would just tell you that those who cannot afford health care deserved to die anyways because they were too stupid to save for such an event or to take care of their own health. I am not a Randian, I understand human reality and that it is impossible for everyone to be rich, and that there are many good people out there who are simply not good with money. Now I understand that I come across as a heartless monster, and maybe you are right. After all, I have spent a lot of time around right-wingers who like to spout misanthropic vitriol and I think some of that has rubbed off on me. ____________________ |

I am in favor of China's internet block. The Chinese people are far too stupid as a whole to make responsible use of information. Their government knows better than to let 1.2 billion ignorant people just do and know whatever they want. Harmony is a hundred times more important to China's well-being than any sort of freedom. If they let them do whatever they want and know whatever they want, the country will fall into chaos and there would be widespread bloodshed (that I don't care about) that would eventually endanger US interests (that I do care about).

Egypt was not a dictatorship in the full sense of the word. It was a kleptocracy. If they had a real monarch, an emperor, there would be legitimacy. What men in power should do is crush troublemakers very swiftly so that there is no chance for them to topple the nation into chaos. No, other countries can't follow in America's footsteps and should not attempt to do so. America was chosen by God, and therefore it is successful. What other countries do is irrelevant to me, as long as what they're doing benefits American interests. The US, fortunately, is not very democratic and is easily controlled by enlightened individuals and not the idiot masses. I don't care if the other countries continue to progress or not. We want two things from them: markets and resources. That means we want them to buy our products and to sell us raw materials for cheap or for free if possible. ____________________ |
