Romhacking.net still had the 3-4-17 patch hosted. Can someone please upload the 3-5-17 patch from Acmlm, to their site? Thanks. |

Yeah I need to clean up the main page here, like I did for All-Stars.
Legend of Link requires 32kb sram. All the sram is used from $6000-$7FFF. |

What motivates me, is to try to either outdue what's already out there, or come up with a new concept/idea. When I am intrigued from an idea or concept I have, and it lingers for quite awhile, then that becomes a motivator too. |

I found 1 error within Mario 3, I missed an irq edit within the mini castle of world 1, the hall with the spiked ceiling lowering and rising. I must've made a typo because if you happen to fall into one of the pits, then the player hides behind that splits irq before reaching the info bar irq.
This has now been fixed, but I literally have no time to do a thorough test playthrough to make sure no other irqs were altered from my latest change. If anyone here wishes to test Mario 3 all the way through, then please let me know and I'll pm the new version. If all goes well with the results, then I will release the new patch publicly. Thanks! |

Thank you Ice Man, I sent a PM. :-)
Made a note on the first page regarding the fix, and when the next update will be released. |

Posted by Insectduel It's not physical roms I'm uploading, they are patched with different values to alter itself from it's original state. All 5 games I've worked on are modeled to work specifically on the MMC5 mapper. Granted, good portions of the games are the same, but it's not the actual original copyrighted released roms themselves. There are a lot of dark gray areas in this, and I honestly don't want to get into it. If I was ever handed a C&D, I would 100% obey it. But again, I myself am not hosting anything, I do not have a dedicated website showcasing my work. I am showcasing my work in a rom hacking community, one that has been around well over a decade. It would've happened by now, C&D's handed down to sites like Acmlm or Romhacking.net. I'm flattered and honored that people think my work is on par, with Nintendo paying notice and would threaten me, but my work doesn't compare to some of the far better rom hackers out there, that would've easily been handed C&D's loooooong ago before I ever started contributing to the rom hacking community. |

He has, I just haven't been able to get around uploading the new version. I work 50+ hours a week I get pretty exhausted, not looking for pitty, just letting you and everyone know I'll get to it asap. I should have a relatively light day today, so I hope to get it uploaded tonight. :-) |

Posted by bnash222005Posted by infidelity Sorry, all that hardware stuff is out of my league. All I know is simply the sizes of the chips required for whatever board supports them. Thanks for writing. :-) EDIT idk if this helps... http://kevtris.org/mappers/mmc5/ |

bnash222005, I am unable to reproduce the Mario 1, and 2J glitches.
I cleared Mario 1, and the world select is fine. Also the 2nd quest works fine for me, whether I start over at 1-1, or whether I start a new world with the B button selection. I selected a fresh File D for Mario 2J, selected Mario, and I started as Mario. I was able to save and reload the file, and there was no start indicator, and I was able to start again as Mario. Now, the Mario 3 issue in World 8, this was happening because of my fix for the IRQ in world 1's mini castle. So I had to create a new subroutine, check the world I'd at $727, check to see if it's world 8, if it is, then load the new value for the ppu mask $2001, if it's not world 8, then load the other value I had for the world 1 mini castle ppu mask $2001. Idk if the Mario 1 and 2J are cartridge issues, but I'm unable to recreate those issues. I performed all these tests on my PC versions of FCEUX, Nestopia, & Nintendulator. I will hold off on releasing a new patch for Mario 3 World 8 water fix. Want to make sure this is just a hardware issue, and not an issue on my end. Just make sure that the SRAM is working properly, it HAS to be 32kb. |

Idk what he is doing to create those issues. I'm just unable to reproduce it, I'll need more confirmation from others that have tested this on real hardware. |

Yeah the ines is so frigging confusing cause of the mmc5. But I cannot stress enough the sram/wram chip needs to be 32kb on the board. |

Hmm, very strange video. Idk why the b button asm would just crap out like that on mario1?
Have you tried removing the sram battery for a period of time, so that the sram is properly wiped? This is the first time I've heard of anything like this happening. I don't know how real hardware works, I just make sure that my game works the same via all 3 pc emulators, specially nestopia/nintendulator cause they are close to emulating a real nes. The person that made my cartridge for me has not contacted me since January, so I have no way for my chips to be flashed with my current game. I'd have to purchase myself a "Willem" and do this myself. I thank you for taking the time to make the video. |

Ice Man, are you able to duplicate what Mr Pete showed? I'd like as much info from users with mmc5 carts. I've got a suspicion it's either wiring, or the sram not functioning properly.
Also, does the TL866 erase and reprogram AT49F040 flash chips? These are ones installed on my personally made development cartridge. |

I'm kind of nervous now with my fam to nes adapter coming in the mail. I have an hdmi front loader, so I hope of don't run into any issues with the adapter I'm getting.

Thanks for that info on Mario 3, MrPete1985. Looks like yet again it deals with the original change I made to fix the world 1 mini castle. Just fixed it now so that all the irq's after world 1 that Mario is supposed to be behind is now behind.
Still, the B button should not be just failing like that for Mario 1, that asm should be working fine. The Mario 2 J issue sounds to me still like some sort of SRAM issue. You have been the only one that I've heard report such a thing. But the Mario 3 issues have been fixed just now. And thanks Ice Man, for the info on the TL866. I may swing the extra cash for USB support, since my MAME Win XP machine is bugging out on me. |

No longer video needed, but thank you for all of the info. I still need more confirmation from other real hardware users experiencing the same issues. I've tried to recreate the scenarios you've explained via emulation, but rather everything is working as its supposed to.
@Ice Man, can you link me to which TL866 I should consider? |

Thanks for the report, I'll check that out when I can. Good find. Can you check to see if all files return the way the 4th one in 2j is doing? |
