I was fooled by this trick,too,but I got the secret exit.Just defeat the big boo and a secret path will be opened.The key is actually a throwing object.



I knew you could throw the key,but then they try to trick you like I got the red switch palace so I thought i blocked the turtle on top,but then I tried to take the P switch through the door to see if could go back and get another one,and it wouldn't let me. I was stuck,and then time ran out,but I figured it out. i wish someone could make it to Spanish or English b/c I can't read Japanese. That's why I'm confused. Also, this game is weird b/c it like doesnt act like SMW at all sometimes. Well,i got to this boss that was a trash can or something w/a skeleton and I didn't know what do so I tried throwing turtles at it and nothing worked so I just figured out you had to jump on everything w/out letting it get you, if you know what I mean. Did the person who made the game not know English? just wondering b/c it woukd have been easier to understand.


Oh,but this creator knows English a bit.By the way,check the "Brutal Mario" topic on SMWCentral.A new version of demo6 has arrived.Now it's called demo7.
Features a few levels and approximative 5 new bosses.The link is on page 15 or 16.Surely is 15.All I can tell you is that one of the bosses is a reactor.

I am no block expert, so I'm gonna have to request a solid block, but when hit from below, there is no sound made whatsoever. Can't be that hard.

I request a Giant Buzzy Bettle and a block that when hit,it shows a hidden passage.If it doesn't exist,then forget it.

Nah, I've decided to change it back to NSMB Editor 2.0.

Editor is almost done! Everything works, just need to design, code and test the Level Header dialog.

Here's a full list of stuff that will be changeable in this version:
+ Time limit
+ Mario's start position
+ Level tileset (GFX set, palette)
+ Level background (GFX set, palette, tile layout)
+ Parallax background (GFX set, palette, tile layout)

I do want to add more when I find the data.

Also, I'll be making a new thread for the new editor (I think this one's run its course) so keep an eye out for that when it's released!


Will this work on any version of NSMB?'Cause when I tried one of them with your
editor,an error has been occured.

I finally got past the first part in the castle w/electricity,but now I'm stuck on the big blue boss in Demo6. it's the one where all the parts come out and try to hit you. Has anyone gotten past it? I tried to hit it w/the block,but the block doesnt hit him. Do I just have to wait until the battle gets done or something? Thanks.

Do you mean the Metamorphing Monster?He's hard to defeat.When it's deforming,a throw blocks will fall from the last piece.Use that to hit his eye.Do this 3 times and you win.

This is a really exciting time to be a SMW hacker. With all the sprites we now have available, it's really becoming possible to make an "ultimate" Mario game out of SMW, where elements from anywhere in the Mario series can be combined.

Here's some Bully graphics I drew for anyone interested: (Drawn more from memory than reference, so they're not perfect)




You'll probably have to recolor them to fit in with whatever palette your game's using.

And yeah, so Boss Bass, awesome. It is kind of a shame that he doesn't come back if you kill him, though. (That bugs me about Porcupuffer in the original SMW, too) He also swims about a block too high to look like he's in layer 3 water, but it would probably be pretty easy to move him up or down on the screen. (Haven't tried it yet)


Can't you just submit the ExGFX file,containing the small and big Bully GFX?

I request a YI mini tap-tap the normal and golden version of it that can flip itself, when it by a shell or throwing block, but it doesn't die. The star can kill it.
The only difference between the normal and golden tap-tap is that the golden one stays on ledges and the other one doesn't.

Let"s see, superb mushroom block. Puzzles can me made, using it.

Now I'm minor editing the Giant Ice Koopa's GFX. Hopefully, it will be submitted today.
EDIT:Ahhh! My koopa is now broken!!Cancelled creation!

EDIT 2:Hei mikeyk, you improved giant koopas don't work in game. Only the shell shows.

It's still got some work to do, but it's working pretty well right now. If someone with some artistic skill wants to contribute a better default tilemap, that would be awesome.

Wait a minute: I was in Germany for 3 weeks and tried the giant koopa there. It worked. Now I tried the giant koopa here and only the shell shows.

the clipping field of the snowflake was wrong and I also changed bucket head's spitting SFX and some of his cfg settings. (a snowy guy who is invincible to fireballs doesn't make sense :3)


Does the Buckethead's snowflake freeze Mario?

Tested the Buckethead and it's good, but it would have been much if the sprite's
snowflakes would have frozen Mario for a few seconds.

Has anybody contacted MiOr lately? I have a question about his YI Gusty sprites and how they were generated like the Bullet Bill Generator and I was wondering if I could use it in my hack.

Maybe you should include a feature that allows us to add/delete enemies instead of just editing them.
