So this is what I get for helping you cheap ass huh ?
If you can find a 19inch laptop for under a 1000 bucks be my guess, truth is you have a very hard time finding one, let alone with good specs and something that won't drain your whole budget.

If you want to act like a ass towards somebody who is trying to help you, then maybe you shouldn't request anything at all.
The best thing you can do is pick up the phone and ask dell to drain your bank account for some 19inch laptops...

By the way I do have a right to post here, your not mod or god here.

the laptop you suggested was a huge clunker with 1680 x 945 and a shitty video card. The laptop i initially posted was better in every way than any individual spec on any of your suggestions.

It might put some financial pressure on book printers - or actually force them to downscale and raise prices further because it would turn books into a niche hobby for people who want something to display on your shelves, depending on how you look at it.

Even as one of the more computer-dependent people out there, I must say I still haven't quite accommodated myself with the notion of reading literature on a computer screen; paper and ink are easier on the eyes in the long run and the bit of input device innovation we've been getting has not really managed to replicate the convenience of flipping pages.

i kno but i just have so many pdfs and so little paper

one has to go and i'm not about to start taking a break from math

Books and paper will always be around because ultimately they're far cheaper than smartphones.


This reminds me of something I think about, every time I use one of those air-machine hand dryers. It's just air, so it must be better than using paper towels.

But what about the energy it took to generate the electricity to run the hand dryer? Could the energy of running the hand drying machine really be less than the energy it takes to make 1.5 feet of paper towel?

What about the time I spend standing around that thing, drying my hands? Couldn't it have been spent on doing something productive?


Sure, phones are cool and all, but I don't see them ending the era of books anytime soon. They're too small (because they have to be portable) and they're not quite up to snuff on being intuitive enough to extinct books.

I meant for people who read books and papers like me and blacky though--even without ereaders we still go through more etext than printed text.
