It wasn't spammy, there's huge significance to this thread !!!

Also I explained that the individual I was going to share an apartment with is a skankface and bailed out on the deal last minute, leaving me only able to afford living expenses at my absolute last choice of schools. I'm stuck in this asscrack of a state (no offense to residents?) until I make some more money. D:

Aren't the only schools close by St. Mary's and Uni. of Texas?

Curiosity + the IP being in plain sight (I recognize the rough IP ranges for most countries or at least rough areas) + you posting a spammy thread in General Chat.

What exactly did you supposedly already explain though?

That's actually kind of creepy.

So where is a nice place to live? Specifically somewhere in America with a low cost of living and a high concentration of programming/tech/IT jobs. Not some hick town either, it would have to be some place with a city, like with those big steel building things, you know. Due to shit I don't feel like discussing and you don't feel like hearing, it would be wise for me to gtfo this state, as soon as I can, which rules Pennsylvania out. I hear its so lolexpensive to live out in Cali that I'm not even going to consider that, probably the same in any huge place.

Or would I be better off just job-hunting places that would pay to relocate? (like someone is going to pay to relocate someone who just graduated a two-year school with no actual work experience)

I pretty much want to gtfo, but don't know where I should be gtfo'ing too so I require assistance, and figure it wouldn't hurt to ask.

This is something of a myth, since while it's pretty expensive to live on the coast, prices decay exponentially even a few miles from the coast.

Whenever these threads pop up it seems like everyone in college is taking a bunch of math/computer science courses, which was actually the path I was going down until I recently switched my major to psychology. I'm definitely enjoying school more, so if you want to get a useless degree then this is a path to consider~!

I'm thinking about doing grad school if that means anything

edit - I typed this before dr_death's post showed up to prove me wrong so (middle finger)

It's simple, really. People are afraid of going into a liberal arts major. I'm taking economics though, so I don't know where that puts me. I've heard everyone hates economists but I don't know much more than that.

New schedule though.
Here.

Iraq?

Skilled workers there get paid three times what they would get paid in the United States. It's not too dangerous now either.

Liberal minds think alike (read posts before you)
Nobody has Romney at above about 43%, so I'm more inclined to say that there's at least something good here.
Thank god. I did not even live in Massachusetts THAT long and I dislike that man so much

Well, my calculus teacher said there was a deficit of math tutors/readers who could teach calculus, so he said that if I signed up, he'd give me a recommendation. The pay is decent, I guess, fixed at $9/hr. I'm not allowed to surf the net or anything while tutoring, though. I'd probably get off with reading Calculus on Manifolds, I think.

I don't know about this entire job thing though. It's not as though my schedule is busy, but jobs seems scary. I've done Japanese tutoring before, but it was voluntary and not community service. How does this entire "job" thing work out? How much does a job take out of you?

"Oh, so this curvy thing is the function?"

That's kind of what I'm worried about. The squalor is more intimidating than the difficulty. How does one tutor an egocentric crowd such as this one?

I saw it just as much if not more at UCSD--where the delta-epsilon definition of a limit is not taught because it's "too hard." :\

I'm sorry, I'm going to get completely off topic for a moment. I normally don't care about message board spelling/grammar shit, and I hate to be the grammar bitch, especially since I know mine isn't that great either, but this annoyed the hell out of me while reading your post:

There is a difference between affect and effect. Affect is a verb, effect is a noun. Something affects you, not effects you.

Coitus effects you.

I'm never reading one of these threads again, because I always judge people by age

Unfortunately, there is a good reason for this; older people just tend to act their age better.

Acting your age does not relate to post quality.

In my country, pre-calculus is a solidly high school course. :\
But I find it hilarious that you have to take geography.

Lots of college degree programs, from what I've seen, have Precalculus as the only math requirement. Mine didn't count for credit, but you had to take it if you couldn't pass out of it in the entrance exams.

Explain why my economics program (from a non-ranked university) requires Abstract Algebra & Real/Complex Analysis then!

probably because he was referring to "lots of" programs he's seen, as opposed to every single college degree program conceivable

Never would have guessed that. Have you writ your three essays yet, YD? O:
