Haven't been here in a while, Anyway, many moons ago on the old board I made a 6 Golden coins hack. Well, I had a hard drive crash and lost a lot of data, including a copy of that IPS. I also deleted it off my freewebs files before the crash, so any links from that file won't work either. My only hope is for someone here (or on my site) uploads the IPS from thier CPU.

So.....uh, thats my request. If someone has the IPS patch to my SMW ,SML2 6 Golden coins hack please post it here. I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Thank the Gods. Good save icegoom. I thought I lost this forever. I was just trying to gather up all my old demos (dead and undead projects) so I can host them at my site and SMWCentral so maybe someone else could pick them up. Peter wanted to finish the 6 golden coins hack, I'm going to finished Mario land 1 with Sgraff87 whenever I get my things together.

I never really liked your SML2 hack.
It was buggy here and there and the World map was inaccurate.


I know what you mean. I just played it over a few times and realized how strange "Bunny" Mario feels and how his ears don't move and make that "click click" sound when he flies with them, he can also still cape spin around with Y, so that didn't feel like I was using the "real" Bunny Mario, just a doctored up version of "cape or raccoon" Mario. The OV needed hella work done to it (its not easy trying to make a accurate map of a piss green GB game, even on an emulator), how their were holes in the scenery, especially in the Tree Zone secret stage, and since SML 2 levels are HUGE, I had to use 2 SMW stages to fit the top and bottom of SML 2 levels. Anyway, I was thinking about cleaning it up a little a re-releasing mines for archive purposes since, like I said, Peter's working on it.

By the way, I showed Sgraff a version of the SML remake where I'd inserted some custom sprites. I'll just go ahead and post the link in case you're interested in seeing it.


I just played it. Those sprites will be very useful in the remake, particularly the Flying Bee and the Bomb Koopas. I knew you drew them, but did you create the actual sprites yourself?

I'm getting ready to clean this up too and release a demo of it. Heres the version me and Sgraff87 was working on. It's in it's early beta stages and quite unpolished, but sneak peek at it anyway before I release the official version.

Ooh, this might be a good game for SMB2 music. I haven't played the original SML in some time. There's different level music for each world?

Not really, Just worlds 2 and 4 are different. 2 has a calm beat, and 4 (my favorite) had a Japanese beat to it. I was thinking SMB 1 music would be perfect for this since it has the same concept and level structure in most stages, and you just gotta love the SMAS remake of the original Mario tune (SMB 1-1).

And icegoom, I'd love to ues those sprites (and gfx) if you send them. I'll plug them in the new demo ASAP.

Sounds good to me.

Perhaps we should add some extra levels too, since its a VERY short game (12 levels total) like you suggested before?

I'd be willing to/am able to provide custom music for the hack(s) if neccesary. I had a few SML/2 tracks made up a while ago out of boredom that I never used. Eh.


Wait, are you saying you know how to add different music into SMW? (besides the SMB 1 2 and 3 patches)

Honestly, it'd probably make more sense for Luigi to be rescuing Daisy, since they're sort of an item later on. But then it wouldn't really be Super Mario Land.


Here's out dilemma, In order for the "separate Luigi Gfx" patch to work correctly, we'll have to port everything from one Rom to the next. Asm, sprites, levels. Not so much Gfx and pallets since we're doing those over anyway, but it's still a pain in the ass. I'll see what I can do, though.

I'm just about ready to un-ice everything and get back to the hacking world. Just give me 1 week, and if you guys are ready and willing by then, we could start working on this hack.

I'll open another thread with screenshots so we and others (that are interested) can discuss what they want to see in the remake and gather up some ideas and stuff.

Since this thread got way of topic (I am to blame for it) can a mod close this?
