Yea, I stopped back for this. Here are links to screenshots and such. I'm making it so you have to take the effort to copy and paste these links because this hack is not intended for minors. Or those with no sense of humor about life. If you fit into either of these categories step on out of this thread at once. For the rest of you, enjoy my opus.

screenshots and whatnots:

the ips patch, etc:

This is the sequel to Tran Tramps: The Family Jewels, so it's a must see for anyone who enjoyed that hack, or for anyone who has enjoyed any of my hacks. For those of you who don't enjoy over-the-top adult humor, stay well clear of this one. At this time I would say this hack is my most accomplished one, years of work have produced a game which has tons of new graphics, an all new storyline, a completely new instruction manual, an all new soundtrack, and even some new game mechanics this time around.
The story picks up years after Tran Tramps leaves off. Filly & Jammy have raised their new children to the best of their ability, but now have to deal with a new unexpected consequence of having awoken the Sex God... He wont leave the Sex Goddess alone, and she hates men. The Sex Goddess has sworn revenge upon the Tran Tramps and assembles a misfit crew of violent miscreants to bring about their destruction. Help Filly, Jammy, Rank, Reek, and Stench survive the wrath of a Goddess.

If you mean very thorough and firmly grounded in an alternate universe than yes this is like my other hacks, but on steroids.
Where this differs from my other hacks is on the higher difficulty level of hacking a genesis ROM in this manner, with things like many full screen portraits, some levels with all new backgrounds for a complete change, etc. I have changed the game mechanics very noticably. I added in the song Flight Of The Bumblebee. I have a character in there stolen from the works of a famous graphic artist. And I have hand-drawn the entire instruction manual and all promotional artwork.

But I'll tell you what I've told you many times before, this is art, art is subjective, and you are free to like or not like it at your choosing.

To me any expression of emotion or imagination which has been worked into physical form (or digital as the case may be, thats close enough) is art.

You would patch onto the game Battletoads & Double Dragon (U), you need the .bin version of the ROM.

It's not hard to embed images, as I said in my original post, I added an extra step to the process because said images could be offensive or inappropriate to a particular segment of the population at large.

This ones not really that offensive. Wait till my next masterpiece finally gets unveiled, it makes Little Remo look like a children's cartoon.

Some people will not be happy unless you make their hack for them. Its useless trying.

Good job Haxorkyo, your meticulous insertion of every last possible swaztika, penis or insult has raped Mario 2 much the same way a dick nazi would rape peach after beheading mario. The obsessive quality of the game alone qualifies this as artistic expression. Probably makes alot of people uncomfortable though. Noticible improvement over the original game.

I'm glad your life has improved and you are happy now. I'll always be your friend even if you never ROM-hack again. I'd probably be better off in my other creative endeavors if i dropped the ROM-hacking, its such a huge drain on time. Real life is more important anyway.
I to went through horrible shit in real life and have channeled it into ROM-hacking. And like you much of the horrible shit i went through has passed.
So good luck Googie, whatever you choose to do. You helped me more than anyone in ROM-hacking, because my life was irrevocably changed for the better one night when i made a decision that i had to see Googie's artwork and got a certain account to do it.

Yea you read right, NSFW. Not suitable for minors either, at all.

With that out of the way, let me say that this place in particular should be proud that this game exists, as it is dedicated to an old member of an acmlm board, who partially inspired me to make it. This person has most likely moved on though, that was over 3 years ago.

What you got here is an original computer game, compatible with Windows XP / Vista / Windows 7. At it's heart it's basically a point & click adventure game, also with some RPG elements. All the art and sound effects are handmade. Infact everything about this game is handmade. The storyline features characters from my ROM-hacks in addition to new characters.

Well, at least at an earlier age anyways.
That's kinda the problem, isn't it? What age do think Kyo is? Or Jomb?

I'm responding to this here, because i dont want to hijack Kyo's thread.

I'm a senior citizen. Clearly you have not played my game. You see genitals and a synapse fires off in your brain going "boobies!" or "penis!" and like a Pavlov dog saliva flows. But this game isnt about any of that. That's only the vehicle. You are missing the point. This is art my friend. Boundry pushing art. This is one man's journey to hell and back.

So you correctly guessed that someone would be defensive when the art they spent years working on is called purile by someone who hasnt even played it? Congratulations on that one. The art in this game is hand-drawn, it took me ages. The sound in the game is not canned sound, I actually went out and recorded it myself. I hand-coded this thing from scratch. It took years. The game engine is my own work. The puzzles in the game are all original, they are well thought out and rather challenging. There is a definite artistic statement here. It's not my fault if you're too close-minded to even give it a shot. That's the thing about art, it's not really about what most people agree on, that's marketing and focus groups, art is about following your muse. Do you think the Cabaret Voltaire cared about what most people agreed was art? They ended up making some of the most intrugueing art in the world, precisely because they didnt.

My statement was not meant to imply anything, it was direct statement. And it said that you immediately thought this was meant to titilate or arouse, when in fact this game is not about that at all. Maybe it is completely normal for people to dismiss things without trying them and to assume they know of what they speak without any real basis for that. Maybe I over-estimate people.

"What the hell is that supposed to imply? That I'd actually enjoy seeing these crappy excuses for hacks?"
This is not a hack.

Like I said, this a game which is about one man's journey to hell and back. Yes it's shocking, but what would you expect hell to be like? A rose garden?

edit to respond to other comment - I didnt include too many captures from the game as I didnt want to give away too much of the plot or the solutions to too many of the puzzles. From a technical point of view, it takes point & click one step further with the addition of some RPG elements and the way in which the game meticulously keeps track of your behavior so that you get judged at the end. You also get awarded special endings depending on if you made some sort of achievement during play. This made the ending rather complex, it took me many months just getting all 25 or so possible endings together. Many of the puzzles have multiple solutions and things you do early on have major impacts on the game in later parts. On top of the novelty I suppose in someone who does ROM-hacks actually creating a real game. The Rape option was added in as a personal challenge, like the info says, the game is very beatable without ever using it. It's there for the player to make up their own mind on. But yes, you will be judged if you do use it.

You are confusing Voltaire and Cabaret Voltaire. Voltaire was a philosopher from the 1700's. The Cabaret Voltaire was a collective of artists from around 1916 who started an art movement which became Dada.
My art is not classically beautiful, I'm aware of that. My artistic idol is R. Crumb, my drawings will likely never be as good as his, but they accomplish my goals, and are distinctively my style.

Introducing Monster Rapist, a new level editor for the NES game Monster Party. This editor will allow you to edit all levels in the game, as well as all background pallettes. You can even change which pallette is displayed where on the levels. See the enclosed readme file for details.

Get it here: Monster Rapist

I cant wait to see what you do with it. If you have any problems let me know. I'm not expecting this to be the final version of the editor, but it's rather complete for level editing as is. I'm hoping to add other features in the future though.

I also wish there was an enemy editor in there and if i can figure out how it works I'll eventually add one. The other thing on my wish list is to figure out how doors work, right now if you overwrite a door its just gone, and if you add in a new one its purely cosmetic.

Something which i think is really interesting is if you stack up a bunch of water squares... they behave like quicksand, and you dont take any damage until you hit the bottom. If you time it right you can leap ontop the water.

Wait, I'm not sure what you mean by block by block, as you can already edit each block by the tile, then edit the areas of the map by the block using the blocks you just created by the tile.
It is true though that no matter what you do somethings will have to repeat on the map, but you are fully in control of what repeats and where. This is because the game left a finite area of the ROM to store blocks for each area. In theory this could be expanded with a ROM expansion, but is way beyond my abilities as a ROM-hacker.

I have not as of yet attempted to watch the hex when entering doors. I have more experimentation to do with the ROM, I had figured out how all the levels and pallettes work and where they are stored though, so i did all that first. I'm going to tinker around with the ROM some more next time i get a chance and see if i can crack anything else. Then if i can I'll add in new features based on my findings. If you can figure anything out let me know.
I have no musical background at all, so to add a music editor may be overly ambitious. Another hacker who is very good at music also looked into the music on this game and had a hard time with the system they were using as is (though i believe he may have found a way to alter it to use a different system, which requires a ROM-expand)

The monsters walking around on the title screen thing is strange, and an unusual thing to alter, but if you can master it I'll still add it in.

The music in this game is somewhat mysterious. I was thinking though, if you manage to figure out how it works, how will i add it to the editor? I could make a page which has a list of notes or something which could be changed, but i would have no way for the user to listen to their song unless they opened the ROM and played it. Or we meticulously took samples of the notes from the game for playback in the editor. Basically what I'm getting at is i dont know how to program the code in C++ which will play a particular note and my only work around would be to play a sample.

Yes you're right, I've been able to change some of monsters on the title screen using this information. I havent mapped out what hex value = what monster yet though. I may add this into the editor at some point, but its a low priority.

I havent had mucg luck with the sound. Also i'm still having trouble wrapping my head around how i would program the sound editor, as i have capability at this time to change the pitch or speed of a sound sample, i would literally have to have a seperate sample for every single possible noise. It may be an untenable situation unless i learn more about how sound works in general.

I have made a discovery about doorways. If you change the hex value at x98BE it changes where the doors lead on round 1. The discouraging thing is that it doesnt just change where the first doorway leads, it shifts all the doorways. I'm not giving up yet, I'll try more when i have more time, but if thats how the doors actually work then it might not make sense to add them into the editor. Hopefully what i've found is actually a pointer to the 1st doorway destination on round one, and later on I'll find that location and will be able to edit where each door leads from there.

I looked a little further, to x98de and found the data to the first door on round 1. It wont change where that door leads to, but i can now move all the doorways in the game. A door wont work as a door though unless you have the door graphic ontop of it.
So with what i know now i could make the editor capable of rearranging where all the doors are. This is acceptable to me if i cant find a way to change where each door leads, this would effectively do the same thing except that you couldnt make 2 doors lead to the same place. Also, if you make a door lead to another round the game gets all fucked up.

Alright, I made a very interesting discovery. I found where all the coordinates for doorways are stored. I realized that for some reason round 2 has 3 more entries for doorways than there are doors on that level. I put doors down at those locations... and they worked. They allow you to teleport around on the level. It makes you wonder if round 2 wasnt intended to be kind of like round 6 originally.
