rom is in /out

I was interested in this project because md has 2 hori modes, 320 and 256. the 256 mode is the same as the NES, so that got me thinking about what games to port.

while the code is all rewritten from scratch, there are some remnants of the nes game. for example, when mario throws a new pill onto the playfield, there's a table of X,Y coordinates of the pill's position as it flies. interspersed within this table are also animation cues for mario. so that's in there.

I was able to convert a bunch of midi compositions of the dr mario music I found online and they were surprisingly good after conversion. but as you can tell, many songs are missing.

the biggest issues are that there is only 1 rotate button, not two. there is no cpu ai for vs, there's no 2p vs. I made this awhile ago and was still learning C but I think a big issue is that the game pauses animation during gravity, so like the virus guys on the bottom left don't dance while a piece is falling in gravity. the nes game isn't like that.

all in all it was a fun learning experience. I haven't gotten any feedback on it since making it, so I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts. criticism welcome too.
