Got an original idea: something that is NOT Megaman or Mario...

Uhmm... What about using Yo! Noid or Masked Ninja Hanamaru and remake it to what it was supposed to be... A (unofficial) Wagyan Land sequel

May not do it alone, But the project is called: Yo! Wagyan

P.S. - Made a very early WIP NSF example (Ending Replacement)

Note it's early WIP stages, and the glitchy tracks will be fixed, and some will be replaced with other tunes! Not to mention, I had to put it on the right track to hear what I mean.

Sorry, Cannot login to SMWCentral, Because I lost the password.

So I am gonna ask... How will I remap tile $7F to a different SP1 tile of my choice?

I looked, it isn't in the SMW ROM Map from SMWCentral. I never traced much SNES code because of difficulties.

I need 8bit and 16bit 16x32 Hebereke sprites with poses for Super Mario World, Based off the Famicom Game's Graphics

If you make these, I can also modify them to SMB3 and SMB1 8bit GFX, will give credit if needed!

I use YY-CHR for console graphics, but resizing is such a pain for the 24x32 versions I have,

http://acmlm.kafuka.org/board/thread.php?id=3807

It's There, Because I downloaded it there.

First of all, You're using MMC3, Which is what SMB2 and 3 uses, MMC4 is totally different. (Mapper 4 = MMC3, Mapper 10 = MMC4)

And Second, You are supposed to make sure to switch CHR ROM banks in place of CHR-RAM stuff. It is actually hard, But you can disassemble the game to see if you can find the needs for the hack.

Example CHR Switching routine:

LDA #$08 ;CHR Reg 0 - Bank 8
STA $8000
LDA #$80
STA $8001

LDA #$09 ;CHR Reg 1 - Bank 9
STA $8000
LDA #$81
STA $8001

Yes mapper 4 my bad. The original chr-ram routines are obsolete due to the mapper change. All of the gfx are arranged and appear correctly now. The game works, displays fine. I just want to change where the mapper loads the 4 8kb/2 16kb chunks in the ppu.

You should still do $8x in $8001 (x meaning bank select), as 2k banks must be in the left (PPU $0000-0FFF) and 4k banks go on the right (PPU $1000-1FFF).

It also is correct in that you need 16k Banks via $8000-$BFFF, But you need to enable SRAM by looking at $A001, Mirroring will also need to be modified to be at $A000.

I liked this board because it has age, not only that:

It really helps, and also people gave me advice and memories even back when it was called Acmlm board.

Sure I had my moments, but on the site's final legs, I hope everyone will move on to a new Romhacking forum.

When this site goes, I'll stay more at NESDEV, I may also be at other sites as well.

P.S. Thanks a million for everyone's contributions!

I didn't say that the site is going away right now,

I was saying that this board was doing very well, I can't count Board2 to be a dead forum at all.

Many apologies for the misinterpretation.

I tried and tried making Hebereke go default 16k, but something is wrong, It goes to the title first, Password works, but entering the main game crashes everything...

It will still use a setup of 2 8k Banks before I emulate it on a new system (SNES in particular), but until something works or I get help here, It is improbable

Will send Modified ROM via Email if someone knows better ASM and want to help out!

This may be the best ASM hack for Zelda 1 by any means, Great job on the stuff you've contributed on this. You are awesome!

Can we use the SNES controllers using the Four-Score? That would need a new control scheme.

Then you can add Turn Blocks, and make Mario SpinJump using SNES_A, then the SNES X button can be used as a extra button of some sorts (in SMW, It is the same as SNES's Y button)

the SNES's L and R buttons can be used for extra buttons also.

See never-obsolete's Four-Score SNES controller Demo for example:

You need to ask SMW Central's Request feature if you need one.

This is really not a place for requests, I had the same problem, but you may have to do it yourself otherwise!

Welcome Back, Hukka

I really missed you, Really, I do... Without SMB3WS, It did not inspire the Reuben project (dead) and the SMB3DIS disassembly (completed by SonicEpoch)

Maybe make it like the Reuben-like project (Sort of Open Source), and let the user decide on other content besides these already found in GB Zeldas...

I hate Z80 as much as the next person(s) because it's HARD... But a better source code of Zelda is better for me in 6502!

Look into Balloon Kid, Compare it to Hello Kitty world, but this type of port is hand made, while HKW was converted with a converter THEN optimized and modded for NES

This is my patch that I remade during study of the Ufouria and Hebereke ROMs, I hope you enjoy this patch, It was a simple one using only the sound engine!

Everything else seems to be compatible with NTSC for now... Tell me if anything needs a look!
