South Park is very different though. It has multiple plot-lines and relies far less on sarcasm and the absurd as being the primary modes of humour. South Park has a lot more slap-stick humour that is in the open, some of the Aqua Teens humour is hidden. If you try to overdevelop that humour into something in excess of an hour (effectively more than 6 times the length). Even an overarching plot would be lame. The Spacecatez and Mooninites/alien sagas are funny because of the fact that there is little connection between anything other than the simple recurrence of Irk and Ignigkot. South Park has absolutely no inter-twining plot. It is a town where stuff happens. Some of that background information is turned into a repeating joke. But the show never has a consistent plot. Plus, South Park as a movie was something almost entirely new (name me adult-theme animation movies of the 90s with a big budget and big marketing campaign? FAST!). ATHF is more of a cult show with a cult following. It is put together in a simplistic fashion and it probably got zip support from the studio. That's what happens. |

Before you all circle jerk onto J. T. McLawyer could you please just let this case go on and wait for new information to come in. Let us not politicize it or turn it into a thread of NERDRAGE.
BBC's note on it The Globe and Mail CBC The Economist Look at multiple news sources (like the Times, Guardian, etc.) over the next few days. Some interesting articles will pop up, I'd suppose. The Guardian Blog has a sombering look at it. |

January 2002 after the HOTRC collapsed, in part due to my actions, I was lured here by a previous staffer named Skylaer who shared my love (at the time) for all things metal. I came here and got into a great argument with Skydude and backed up DrJay/Tomguy and ingratiated myself into the community. I have had off and on activity in the past, but I've usually been active.
I miss those days. : ( |

I am listening to jazz.fm, a really chill station that I dig. They've been doing a retrospective on Canadian jazz from the 50s. They're really focussing on the Montreal and Toronto scenes. I'm not too sure if there was much outside of those areas...However, I would imagine that there could have been very developed scenes in areas like Vancouver, Ottawa, and a few other cities (not to mention smaller towns off the beaten road). Who knows though? I'm not sure what is on right now, but the trumpeteer is really playing it like it means something. The drummer, though, is what is making this song. His shit is just flying in with the piano and bass, and just blowing itself away. Spectacular. A great arrangement. |

I eat oranges, I encourage all to join me in this endeavour. The more oranges we eat the more likely it is that Uncle Elmo will be a regular poster again! |

They're just starting to air it in Canada, but the eps I've downloaded are pretty chill. My dad has most of the entire corpus of Doctor Who on tapes (how? No one knows) and I've been doing that shit up when I'm at home. |

Eva was a meh anime that is way over-rated. Give me Gundam G for psychology.
Neo-Mexico. A giant desert sombrero with cacti all over it floating in space? Best colony. Ever. And a completly competent look at hilarious Japanese stereotypes of non-Japanese. |

I remember this! I got to ride around on the bus my dad drove all day reading Nintendo Power and talking about Star Trek with him. It rocked. |

Posted by MathOnNapkins Nah, he was a decent Bond. The movies themselves, however, ranged from relatively good-above-Moore quality to...Uhhh, that-George-guy-quality. |

I'm going to prove a point that you're an asshole! BY KICKING YOU IN THE BALLS!
Does anyone see this logic gap? Then again, the people here seem to totally find this justified. Which is lulz. |

You suck at this whole speaking thing, you know that?
Thexare - that's fair enough. However, you're not kicking someone in the genitals to prove a point, which I find to be ridiculous and fairly indefensible unless it was absolutely necessary. As far as it goes with bullying it could be said that, if you're in high school, it is best to just ignore it. Reliating (in such a juvenile way) only furthers it. In addition, it does nothing to your reputation. The "he's never made a remark since" thing doesn't mean that this is all over, especially with such an attitude. |
