Got a dumb idea....
What about a MM3 "Complete" Hack, with intro, new music, more stages, something like MegaMan 3 Beta Remake.

I had something similiar in mind, like to make Megaman 3 to the one game, which should have been in the first place.
Back then, when Rockman 3 was still under development Keiji Inafune and his team were unable to finish the game properly because of the deadline CoJ set up.
Due this we got the Megaman 3 we all know and love, which was still flawed because many things were not there like a proper intro and a story which explains why this and that happens in the game. Still even without those things the game is still fun, but we could do now what dear Inafune did not. Namely to finish the game which was supposed to be in the first place.

I know that a few do not like to see a Megaman hack after a Megaman hack, but wouldn't this be actually a whorthy cause for any fan? To finish what was supposed to be finished?

When you mention rockman 3, when I played it in 91, I was wondering why that game did not have a proper intro, or why the cut scenes were so short and etc.

If someone has the skill to finish off rockman 3 like it should have been in the first place, I would deeply appreciate it, as it is my favorite MM game.
Also I would like to test it from time to time just to make sure nothing is out of place or odd in some points during the game.

@MikeFuryXP

When I have learned C#, C++ and the 6502 assembler language in the future, I will take care of it, until of course someone other will do it the meantime. However, it is necessary that we need to get input from Keiji Inafune himself in order to finish it properly, as we lack the information how Wily worked with Light again in the first place.

Luckily, Gil Galad made the source code of Megaman 3 available for all of us.

Hmm, its quite amazing of what I see and currently can grasp from reading some of the notes in the .rar files.
Well I continue with my self training in perl and some other things I am updating myself with. I am somewhat in your shoes, but no where near your skill levels.

"as we lack the information how Wily worked with Light again in the first place."

I wont speculate on it, but I am betting wily had other agendas in mind other than making the peace keeping robot.

Knowing wily he had some secret agendas of his own.
1.Probably wanted some notes from Thomas Light. to update his reploids,
2.find out why protoman had that internal problem.
3.and possibly some other junk that started up when Mega Man 5 came out.

Like capcom wiki said, Wily was always jelly of Dr.Light, but he always had a ace card that almost did what he always wanted, but failed in the end.

Always did like the mega man series, good game play, but the whole story itself will keep you guessing until your old man 40 years later.

One mistake from your side, the term reploid didn't exist in 20XX. The term robot was always used.

Yes I know that, forgive me of that, but when I start to think how wily and light made those robots all those years and eventually became real actual thinking AI robots, I sometimes use that term when looking at or compairing the whole story lines and such stuff.

That's nice to hear, since Alttp hacks are rare, however, there's been quite a lot of new Z3 projects lately. Three new ones emerged, which is good news.

This is what I have in mind for hyrule, yes I know the orange palette maybe a little bit bright, but I am dropping down the tone of it very soon.
Also I wanted to give the castles inside a old dark rusted feeling to it, that makes it say that this is ganons version of hyrule land.
Still couldnt find the other grass palette so I could fill in that, and readjust some stuff. :\

I'm feeling as much as you'd intend it to be somewhat isolated to avoid flaming and hate, it will generate just as much. In fact it's already generating hate, but should this sub-forum or whatever see the light of the day, I'll be glad to use it as a base of operations for my project and to get more active, cause honestly, I can't really talk about personal things over at the general chat board noone would care about. I need people to recognize me, and I hope this project will help me accomplish that goal.
(This is obviously unfinished )

Kid, if you make a real hack out of that screenshot you got for us, let us see a demo soon.
Even if I don't agree with the new my lil ponies cartoon, I would be interested in seing a fan made hack.
I'm also for the sub-forum idea with changes that sukasa may want to see and someone else mentioning above.

See new thread title.
So, it would be nice to share around the name of the place and such to any and all people who you might think would be interested in this place. I'm not talking about forcing it into someone's face, but if you find yourself talking about something we have here, it would be nice to mention the place, people may get interested, you know?

I see your vision for this place, but I do not see a set distinctive plan from you yet.
What do you have in mind Luna ?
I know your the boss here, but why not spend some time observing the sub-forums and steadily build a list and bring it back here when you reply ?
Besides rom hacking, which is just a little bit weak right now, other sub-forums are going down the drain.
Mainly about 4 or 5 of them, however I know some people who might be interested in the place if it improves.
But some people don't like all the spam which will prevent them from registering. :\

Give us a list and I'll run with it during next week.
Your efforts are good I might add, but you are lacking backup around here.

Your post his highly ironic, in case you did not notice it.
Yes, I lack backup, this is due to the obvious that we don't know where to go and word is not going around. (Which you could help with.)

Luna, you may have yourself a winnner then, buy about 4 of these
I'll have blooper and KP spread these around amongst worthy people here.
We'll break down the old crap with it and start over with something more secure and decent.

All jokes aside, I'll see what I can do, but this forum in its current form, I may not have much influence at all.

Mike.

Well to be totally honest I think Board 2 still has years left of up-time but that won't happen unless activity starts rising, and the only way to do that is...well I don't know that much cause it has to be done without advertising on another place...

Besides I notice that all the older members are slowly coming back now, but..I'm not sure how active or how many will come back.

All I wanna say is I'm gonna stay..I'll be as active as i can but I'm only one member..and besides sometimes I have real life stuff and I'm hacking so...yeah..
That's just my 2 cents.. :3

Simple, we need to get with the times of 2011-2012, whats happening and what are people doing mostly that interest them.

If you look at closely yami, its almost like being in a magazine publishing company or small media association.

If people do come and all they see is old, they wont stick around much at all.

When I got home, I'll talk to luna and maybe you to see what might be workable in acmlm 2 or not.

I'm going to start to wear my board2 tag in Counter Strike: Source. Maybe a few people will get curious. Don't worry, I'll take it off if I ever troll or anything.

LOL, thats the first I have heard someone say that.
I think some of the people I interact might be interested in this.
Since people hack and mod pc games to a certain degree that they would find this place somewhat comfortable as to what they are doing.

As for the trolling part, thats something that most people cannot escape and it will not die off anytime soon.
I say since I started to really get more involved in pc gaming in late spring.
I have almost ended up in a fight about everyday or night in gaming or damn game chat.
Yet people from around different parts of the globe still see me from yester-week and wave and its just like any other nonsense day.

Looking good man, have you tried this on a wii yet ?
I am about to patch up the rom and put it on a sd card and see whats happens with it.
Also in the video at 3:06 reminds me of turtle rock castle a lil bit from Zelda 4 links awakening I can tell its going to be quite brutal in there.

Too me, it feels like you took zelda oracle of ages/seasons/awakening and mash them into zelda 3 to get that kind hack you made for us now.

I'll give it a spin tonight and over the weekend.

I won't be able to see the Northern Lights because my area will be covered by clouds. But it might offer a little bit of protection (in case/when) something is struck.

I'm not sure that the redistributable is installing correctly. It unpackages a self-extracting archive which I then tried to run and nothing seemed to happen. I checked and I seem to have the relevant DLLs installed anyways, so I don't think that's the issue. So I have no idea.

My editor got as far as showing whole areas with sprites. It couldn't actually edit, but all the data was loaded and organized, so all I had to do was connect the mouse clicks to the code. You would think I've learned my lesson, but I'm still terrible about backing up important things.

Which version are you using by chance and what os are using to run the editor ?
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8328
If your running 2005 version of c++ redistributable give 2008 sp1 or 2010 version a run and see if will run more smoothly.

Hmm, there is a way to run it, but we can't discuss torrents here.
If you can grab a windows 7 home oem disk somewhere, run the installtion and use 30 day trial mode without key.
Install the visual basic package again and see what happens, if it still does this, the author might want to check the editor and see why it won't open the rom. :|

I doubt it. Even if I could replace the processor, I'd still be limited to at most 512MB of RAM if I bought more. At this rate, why not just buy a new tablet PC?

But even then, why would I want to replace the CPU? 566MHz is fine for anything I'll be needing to do on the go. I don't really want or need Windows 8. At most, I might try Windows XP, but 566MHz should be fine with it, seeing as how Windows XP can run even on 233MHz processors.

What I'm more concerned with is the hardware itself. In order to make it truly portable, I'd need a battery pack. But as far as how I would go about getting a battery that would be compatible, as well as getting it all to work internally correctly, I need help on. And some sort Wifi adapter. Read the "Some sort of Wifi adapter" bullet point in the first post.

hmmm, if your going the windows xp route, I advise you kick up the cpu and ram options abit higher.

Is this a socket 370 based motherboard also what is the max fsb on that celeron 566 ?
It maybe possible, but you could opt in for a pentium 3 at 700mhz.
Finding sd-ram should not be a problem for you if you know where to look and what sales maybe going on.
Check pricewatch.com and see if you can get 512mb of ram.

Believe me when I say this, if you plan on going with xp, don't settle for 566nhz if you plan on using it quite abit.

Good luck with it stag.

No, really.

I don't want to replace the CPU, I promise.
I'm far much more interested in making this thing truly portable. But I haven't the slightest clue on how to work on a battery pack or the likes.

Ok, give me any model numbers or serial numbers you may find on your tablet, and I'll try to track down the info.

Shouldn't be hard to find someone with a new battery pack somewhere.

Ehh, I might make a little sigbar with the link to this place in it and show everyone if you want to see it, maybe if you put it in your sig in a few other places some people will do as ninja said, get curious and see what its about

Here is a small example for now, I dont know what slogan blackhole uses for acmlm 2 but in order to get maybe a few looks at the sig, something has to describe this place.

Mike, you can't just resize a banner to 1/5 original size and call it a sig bar... that just looks bad.

Kev, can you read anything right these days ?
I said the banner was an "EXAMPLE" not a permanent one for every one to use.
Why don't you give us a hand here, instead of logging on only once and awhile ?

@Axen, spatula does sound like something that would describe acmlm 2 abit much.
You guys come up with something to make it groovy.
