Posted by Trinitronity This is why that rom hacker didn't want it to be released or anyone touching it. Knowing people like that game too much and have to you fuck it up ? You would have many people ready to kill you and it wouldn't stop for a long time, Its like if you tell heart doctor to work on a car endine and transmission... He won't know how to do anything unless he has enough knowledge or insight to fix it correctly. In the mean time, try to find that hackers contact info or where he might be posting at in japan and ask when your ready. |

Posted by Trinitronity Don't worry about it, long as he offers a digital download for free shouldn't be an issue. He is doing it because its on a cart with a custom label. I assume he made the appropriate contacts with the copyright owners to go ahead and do this. If not it'll be on his back if they find out and want to sue him. :/ |

Posted by heel Don't be so sure of that, the companies that are still around that made those games. All they would have to do is play the game and if its there original programming... Then yes they have a right to do something, like I mentioned if he asked for permission. He won't have nothing to worry about, also zieldak makes a very good point about nintendo. If you look in this forum he already hacked one zelda game and thats their property. :/ If he has it on his website and they check over there, then yes his ass is grass. Also nintendo did mention awhile ago if you want to use their graphics or what not to ask them first. If he didn't do that yet, then good luck to him when they issue out a cease and desist order or have a lawsuit coming. Also not all of his remakes are bad, the zelda one I mentioned looks pretty spiffy. If he give that same quality to other nintendo original games hell yeah I would play more of his works. |

Posted by Trinitronity Bottom line is though he used their programming from the original game. :/ He changed the graphics to something else for todays people or basic gamer. Samething for music, if hes using any part of their work from the game. They didn't give him permission to do so, depending on the law of copy rights. They can and will do something about it, especially if hes making a profit from it. Now if he asked them first, they said oh sure you can go ahead and use the game. Just show sign of them saying that with their name, problem solved. Samething goes for any other rom hacker, check out general rom hacking forum. There is one discussion, that describes that, although some don't agree with this. However it keeps things legal for now, until capcom, nintendo or rare comes knocking on your door with cops.

Posted by Termingamer2-JD Develop an idea for your hack itself, then start off with level designs. Some smw hackers may let you use their levels as a base but ask before you use them. Once you have your levels made, then go ahead and give it a face lift if you want. Lastly insert any music you want before you apply any asm patches. That I mentioned I had to learn the hard way, that and I am not a good level designer.  |

Posted by Termingamer2-JD Go locate javier over there and check his work out, about the same age as you. He has a very good skill for smb3 styled smw hacks, reminds abit of pete ac.. Learn from him and befriend him, I'm quite sure he could teach you somethings beyond smw hacking. |

As for the banner, I honestly don't like word board on the banner, to me its make sound shitty. See this acmlm.kafuka.org I rather use the word acmlm as to promote the man or emuz who made acmlm happen so long ago. I'll do that one over since I lost the draft of the image and put the word board. However termin you haven't made good yet on those screenshots. You don't give me the screenshots, I am not making another banner. |

Hmm this maybe a long shot and you may shoot me in the process but....
Ask them to make a signature banner, give them what you have here. They should be able to stitch up better with css. I would ask them myself, however I am banned due to an issue with certain members and one ex-admin named S.N.N.

Pick up infidelts legend of zelda hack, one of his mega man 2 ultra hacks.
Insectduel and probably googies hack would be good to grab a screenshot. Doesn't need to be anything to flashy, just the scenario of the hack or facing off against bosses will do. Those people I mentioned should be plenty to look into and thats not including others on here. I don't have a preference so thats why I am not doing it, hell the last taslk googie left me with. Kept me guessing or at the drawing board, that and he won't put in the effort each time he logs in. Goodbye for now. |
