and why do you keep acting like you own this place

I dunno about you Mr Board2 Police Officer, but what I can see here doesn't hint that you have any sort of power over this board

feel free to prove me wrong

Here you go, thats my regular power, <----, no one said I had staff power.
However I do have the right to speak my mind on comments like his and I had my reason,
Mainly this after seing the topic appear for the unteenth time after it has been discussed and settle.

You don't like it feel free to talk to the one of admins.
For a new registered user you seem to be from another place full of problems your name seems very familiar. :/

not that I entirely care, it's just fun to mess with you because you take that shit so seriously

Tell you what derpybackslide, let me speak to some people here and there.
I'll make sure next time you walk back in here and stir up stuff, they can ask you to leave or disable your account for abit.

Either post without the drama, troll talk or stay where you are a currentlyt and keep minding your own business as usual.

i have a feeling derpo is staplebutter
just some things are really hinting towards it

If that really is "Mega-Mario" then I really don't know what his problem is with me.
Last time me and him talked he moved on to code kafuka and he seemed content and happy to have a more active board.
Least things have good over here the past few months.

Please upgrade to the 4-18-15 release. Error with N-Card game in Mario 3 yet again. First page describes it.

I tested your hack on my 3ds using nesds 1.3a, the graphics are scrambled and garbaged up badly.

If you can't hack the music thats alright for now, just leave the original in.
It maybe a long shot but have you asked infidelt to explain nes music hacking to you ?
If you need someone to test your demo I'll be more than happy to.

Have you tried the latest pc builds FCEUX, Nestopia, Nintendulator? Its most likely the emulator, my work us mmc5 with 1mb of prg/chr-rom.

Yes I use fceux and its work fine, the issue is the current build of nesds special doesn't work.
If you have access to a ds and a flash cart try it out yourself.
I just wish the currenr programmer for nesds would update it for hacks like yours and many others.
If he would open source that it would be mighty helpfull.

Did you try v1.3bfixed.7z>NesDSv1.3bfixed from the list I quoted?

Please read my post again, when I said nesds special that is what I meant by 1.3b version.
If infidelts zelda hacks works fine but his recent hack which is this proves to be a different problem.
If you have a ds console why not try it out for yourself and make sure it works ?

Didn't know special was 1.3bfixed and knew you said 1.3a in the post prior so was just checking. Hopefully one or the other gets updated so you can play on your DS.

Neither one currently works for his new hack so until the author of nesds wants to fix his emulator as it stands it won't work.

Not a big deal anyway all I wanted to do is make sure it worked properly and to lend infildelt some feedback from using it.

Thank you for trying.

I hope one day that nes emus, get an MMC5 facelift. I'm having great success with this mapped, and simply refuse to revert back to another.

If you really think about it your one out 3 hackers here on this forum the nes emulator developers may listen to.
Your rom hacks maybe the key to get programmers to update their program.
I understand that not all programmers understand what you do but if you explain it to them they may upgrade it.

I suggest you get your name out into some game/rom hacking community and display your work.
Still a very good hack though, I looked at your rom with yy-chr you sure do alot of work and the tiles are more neater and easier to find.

All I can say is if anyone here is able to contact authors of the emulators, to direct them to my mmc5 projects, or any other mmc5 projects from other developers, to entice them to create a revision to the emulator. Believe me id love for the FCEUX ports for PS3 & Wii WiiU to play my games properly.

Anyway, ill try to release an update today. Thanks again for the reports.

I know how to get in contact with nesds devoloper although he is busy at times.. T
That much I can do and get him to sway into updating it off and on.

Hi guys, thought I'd just drop in here; I'd put it in the Mega Man thread, but I don't really feel it's big enough to go in there until I get more done.

Mega Man 4 hack I'm sort of tinkering around with. I'm no good with ASM so I don't plan to do anything tricky, but at the very least I want to replace graphics, music, level design, etc. I've already replaced a single song and have hope to really iron this out when I get more time this summer.

For now, here's a shot of Wily 2:

Sprites come from Mega Man V GB and an old game called Legendary Wings for the NES. I might replace them with slightly edited versions later, but I think they'll do for now. The pink stuff actually has a slight palette animation ingame, but w/e :p

The one song I've imported so far.... It's from Gradius 3!

If thats the case can you take mega arm and apply it to your hack as a replacement to the mega buster ?
His arm doesn't need to grab any items but something different than big ol plasma shots.

What happened to this project? I always love a good Blaster Master hack

Don't bump 8-9 year old threads, incase you haven't realized it yet he probably gave up on it.
Chances of him having that backed up is slim if you want it go locate him and ask him personally,

Hmm does fecux have a tile viewer where you can see the gfx and other tiles while debugging ?
If it does, run your game again and look at the tile viewer and see where the game might be pulling the wrong tiles.

Also you could ask infildelt, its a long shot but he might know something.

Problem solved!

Believe it or not, there was nothing wrong with my code. In fact, I tried all of the methods you guys mentioned. NOTHING WORKED.

But I really do appreciate the help you guys offered. Really, thank you so much. You guys are great!

=_= you what..... make this game a hard mode, I don't want the same old easy smb2 game.
There is game genie codes you can convert to make it difficult, longer and more worth it.
Now that SHOULD work.

glad your problem is fixed.

Changing the order of the weapons i sadly do "not" recommend. This is exactly the very thing that zeildak is doing by re-arranging the levels on Stage Select, which makes ya have to re-arrange pretty much every single little existing thing reguarding stage order, weapons order, and so on.
[...]
I personally did not do that Select+down ...Select+up ..left right whatever stuff for weapon switching for mm3 improvement cause... honestly i really hate it. It interupts gameplay in my opinion. So i cant help with that part specifically 'fraid. (mostly cause i choose not to)

but yes being able to switch "only" to the right does kinda suck. It's still that way on my game, odyssey. because i dont want any of those dumb "select+up/down" combos. [...]

I managed to do what I wanted however. But I did not edit the order of the weapons on the Weapon Select bar actually. Only changed the slots used by some RMs. But I dunno, filling up weapons and etc. Yeah, it would not be as easy as it sounds. I spent 2 weeks just to give Shadow's and Spark's Doc Robot slots to Snake and Hard. And why? Because every bits of data is connected to everything. Every non-doc stage select slot is connected to data like which stage to load, which weapon it gives, which tiles the boss uses, which animation the boss uses, which name the boss uses, which weapon text you get on weapon get screen and many others. It was a pain, though I didn't even do any real coding. And why didn't I mention the Doc level slots? Because that was a nightmare to figure out how it works, I had to even swap level data between weapons for that, not only the usual stage select stuff (anim, tiles etc)
But maybe the data connected to the Weapon Select bar is easy to edit, maybe... Maybe it's similar to the page/id stuff that fills up the weapon after defeating a boss.

And... that weapon change thing. If it would be possible to make the debug stuff work again, I'd give the left-right buttons the cycling, down for Plasma buster and up for RC or something. But I dunno, using 2 controllers at the same time (on the real console)? It would be a pain I think.

If they would've invented the L and R triggers for the NES gamepad... :V

Why not just stick to using the select button for weapons toggling ?
Also with the stuff your finding out, you document somethings while you hack away.
When I attempted to hack the palettes I found real fast, half of the palettes are connected to different stages.
One example is top mans level, I wanted him to a have a night time level, with dark red plants,
Odd stuff in capcoms stuff but pretty interesting and funny at times while sifting through the stuff.

My RockMan 1 hack - Hero mode is 95% complete. But, has an error when battle vs Bombman.

Check the error: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqpY2yATRDc

Please, help...

I'm using the program 'Rock and Roll v1.1'.

You sure after you beat bombman your telling the editor to take the player to fireman ?
Have a good look at this, also why do you have mega easy killing bombman again ?

Well you would know better than I, you and many others have been at this ball game for a long time.
The only reason why I thought that because when he defeated bombman, the game should figured out...
Bombman is defeated, transport player to next area in his issue that didn't happen.
Also I noticed his teleport section show some black line glitching.
It might be the video encoding or he did do something wrong to make it not work.

Have you removed the guts blocks from the first section of the level? You shall never delete any of them, only '00' them and place out of screen. In case you have indeed deleted them, you will have to C+P restore your ROM. It doesn't matter how hard you try to fix it inside the editor, it will never work again... At least it never did for me when I accidentally removed one or two. (Backups are important!) I hope you haven't removed a single of them...

Don't make it too easy, I get a kick out of good mega man boss fights especially ones with good endurance.
