I would look into the audio slot problem first on your lcd and see about getting that fixed.
If no other device works on it using that port you got problems.
As for the cable, when I had my n64 I used rca cables either straight to the tv or vcr hookup.
If you have a dvd, vcr hookup to your tv don't bother trying to make your n64 through it that way,
More problems than you need to currently deal with.

http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Snes-Nintendo-Gamecube-System/dp/B00CKBQK06/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1406166853&sr=8-5&keywords=n64+rca+cable

That would be enough to get you up and running

In case you are worried. Infidelity is still making some final adjustments.
Also, you will be surprised what you will see in the beginning.
Don't press start and let the game run for minutes before you play for real.

Thanatos are you infidels game manager ?
I understand you've played a big role in assisting in his rom hack but let him make the announcements and call the shots in his project/thread.

Thanks.

What I have not worked out yet is how to get a MIDI tracker (I am using 3MLE currently) to have custom instrument set. I'll be more than happy to invest the time to extract and convert the BRR files to WAV if they could them be used to compose a MIDI. Anyone any experience with this sort of thing?

You can try this out here http://www.anvilstudio.com
You can try sonar producer v7.0 or up

Before you go crazy about Rockman 2 Skype or if you are still looking for the download of the game, here's what I post to my Facebook ROM-Hacking fans.

Some fans asked me for download links to my games and especially Megaman hacks.

And don't you think that it should have already posted to Rockman 2 IPS Tripod website?

Try not to take this the wrong way, but about rolls gfx insertion do you think your going at it the wrong way abit ? o0
Look at this video and at the timeline where I paused it at.
http://youtu.be/EKpHltsz788?t=2m28s
You see how rolls head is, her posture her jump frame ?
I think if you edit rolls image just a little bit your insertion problem will be eliminated.
Just a thought I might share with you, I know you want every bit of rolls gfx in your hack.
But I think she may need abit of editing. good luck man

@MikeTechno: Thanks that's very helpful, I guess the term I was looking for is sound font

Thats the best you can hope right now, the rest you will need to search, dig and sift through stuff to find free quality stuff.

http://www.soundfonts.gonet.biz
I'm about to purchase a new pci-e sound card so I can have a dedicated synthesizer.
Doing without one for too long and making music without hearing it in any midi editor is a bitch especially on windows vista- windows 8.

OK - final comments for today - it's getting late:
- Not every room in a dungeon needs to be completly dark - that was not case in the 'original'.

Yes pitch black room/dungeon fights is the new standards in rom hacking.
Gte to walk right in, trip over enemies, objects and traps without seing a thing.
Bring a lamp, doesn't cost too much and memorize the room abit.
Don't like it, don't enter the dungeon, your quest is over and hyrule will be destroyed.

There is a worthy alternative to the blue lantern. You need to find it. If you can't, I highly suggest paying the old woman to talk, and have at least 1 key in your possession. Pay close attention to the words she speaks.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, infidelt you have done a good job on this.
There are somethings that disappoint me about your hack but I'll speak with you privately about that.

I will say this before you make another update, for the love of god fix the save feature. :|
I don't like how the way you setup the save feature, make some progress in the game.
Die and save, hit reset and power off, only to come back and find my progress gone ? x_X

When you were making your hack demo was their a issue with sram file ?
Bush cutting, did you know I can cut down houses too ?
If link swings downward on the side out of the house and east and west he can take out a chunk of house gfx.
The bombs are weak, takes 5 bombs to take out a weak enemie ?
The swords cuts them down faster than the bombs could tinker the damage settings so 2 hits from a bomb can take out ow enemies ?
Also about the bombs the knock back sucks, if you bomb them they land in front of you ? o0
I don't need to catch ganons minions in my hands and get torn apart if they attack me upon impact.
Have them fly back away from the player or not at all if possible.

I think everyone else covered somethings I ran into.
The ow is nice go to any dungeon you feel like, you beat it you get the trforce piece.
Like I mention to you a while back I think some items players get should allow them to gain access to a dungeon just like zelda 4 and up.
The shops are nice but limit a shop to 2 towns, you got shops all over the place.
Make it old school where if the player needs a lantern.
They can go all the way back to such said town and get it.
Reason why I said that, for newer generations of gamers they need to learn how to back track and collect items along the road.
You could be out of bombs and arrows in a dungeon, come back out go to the field and farm the enemies for "free" refills.

With that said I'll be speaking with you soon, looking forward to your next update.

I don't think I've ever used the word "disappointed" to anyone here, in regards to years of work on their projects, infact I've never used that term for your princess peach game you had me try out.

I'm not out to please every single person in the world. I'm not out to spend years of my time doing what other people think my works direction to head towards.

I have stated numerous times on the bushes/sword asm. Its not perfect. Its not like I could borrow code anywhere. I wrote all of that from scratch. I've tweaked various times, trying to make it tighter. I'm no expert at asm, I can get things done pretty well, but that's about it.

Whatever makes you happy just giving you my opinion of what I see.
Not saying the hack is bad in fact it is good "YES" I understand its a demo.
But the issues I ran into some of them need to be addressed.
Also I'm not here to make you feel bad if that were the case I would go at it at a much direct upfront and personal attack on you. :/

Next time I won't say anything about it.
Have a good one man.

The man spent a little of over two years of his life he's never gonna get back making this hack possible and this is what you say? What a dick move, really...

So what are you getting at again....?
I appreciate it if you stay out of this misunderstanding between me and infidelt.
In case you haven't realized it yet, I know how long infidelt worked on this.
He even sent me a few things before he gave you all public.
I'll explain my reply to him later on, once things have mellowed out for abit.
In the mean time why don't you just enjoy his hack and wait for a next public release ?

Thanks for understanding stufid.

Don't tell me what to do, I can say what I feel! And it's pronounce "infidelity" not "infidelt" you almost sound like a terrorist!

Is that a challenge, so your saying if you notice a disagreement between 2 people.
You can't have enough consideration to let them handle their own problems ?
If thats the case expect me not to listen to you at all.
Not unless your willing to seem reasonable to talk to and deal with.

No I'm not a terrorist there are people in the world that are or wannabe terrorist.
Also I call infidelt that by short, since I consider him a friend I always went by that and for a few laughs.

Great news!

Altough huiminghao (maintainer of nesDS) claimed to have neither interest nor time to fix so that 'Zelda - Legend of Link' would run on nesDS - he bloody did it anyway!!

If you get the latest source and compile it - you can run this great hack on your DS.

Just thought I'll let you know.

/d-ace

..... hmm I'll check his official site, but just in case can you forward me his download link ?
If that is indeed true I'll do a new recording of infildelts hack.
Least that way I can help him out further in his next releases.

Anybody know how to keep the "Hurry Up!" tempo speed for the last lap after the music loop has played through once? It plays fine the first time and then goes back to normal speed afterwards. I'm not sure if it's in the way I wrote my file or if I'm missing a command. I would guess the answer would be similar to how it's handled for SMW?

Ask stifu if his editor can normalize the tempo speed for the last lap.
If I'm not mistaken you would have to do a little bit of hex editing in the rom to get it to work.
Thats about as far I can get you to. :/

Examples:

· Flashing "Ready" text
· Flashing small energy pellets
· Make Megaman teleport after defeating a boss
· Add Megaman 2 Boss Defeated Fanfare
· Add a Get Weapon screen
· Titlescreen music
· Boss portraits on stage select screen
· Install Capcom MMC3 Sound Engine
· Weapon toggling via select button
· Adding two more bosses to to the stage select screen

That being said, I am happy with the Megaman Upgrade Patch being more of an experimental hack. I clearly proved to myself that I could do the things I did, and to me that was more important than anything else. It was my first CHR-ROM conversion, and I am very pleased with how it came out.

I'd like to thank everyone for their interest in this hack. It feels good to give something back to the ROM hacking community.

Personally I believe you should do this, everything you listed isn't necessary.
Hell just a gfx change on the title screen, replace the ancient weapon gfx left in by capcom and the music engine.

Oh yeah I played your hack its much more efficient then the orginal.
I do have one question, did you tinker with robot masters knockback ? o0
They usally don't hit the hard especially electric man.

Ask stifu if his editor can normalize the tempo speed for the last lap.

Nope.

:/ well the only place left is to ask the smwcentral addmusic moderator blabrake.
http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=profile&id=9961

Have him view this thread and show him your text file.
If he doesn't know it may have to stay onthe back burner for now.

Maybe it's something to do with the head values we are using. Really we need to extract some of the orginal music and with a list of SPC codes workout how they are different.

Hmm since you put it that way you would need to adjust the tempo in your mml file somehow.
That or seek out the help of masterlink at smwcentral, he should be able to tell you what to do in order to stabilize the tempo in all the laps.

Good luck.

When you select SAVE AND CONTINUE, then decided to reset the rom whenever, then the SRAM gets wiped regardless of that selection. I just noticed that, and saw that I forgot to set up my SRAM wipe/not wipe register. This only happened with only SAVE AND CONTINUE. So this has been fixed, and I hope that was the sram issue was.

I figured the save feature was messed up abit thanks for looking into the matter.
