I dont want this thread to get off topic regarding other past projects, I will simply say that the project took a toll on my personal life, and stopped me from hacking for some time. It took some time for me to get back into doing what I enjoy. Im not saying ill never revisit Ultra 2, but when the time comes for me to go back to it, thats when that will be. People can get mad at me all they want, ive received from nasty comments regarding Ultra 2, and it just pushes me further feom releasing to anyone a finished product. Things happen in our lives that are just out of our control, and Ultra 2 haf a big part in what happened to me. If no one wants to respect my feelings and wishes on that, idk ehat ekse to tell you. Thats all I have to say about Ultr2.

No, you shall continue to hack and love it, and flip the haters a finger. :|
I'll email him a website to get the updated rom from.
Mega Man 2 (USA) [Hack by Infidelity v1.0] (~Mega Man Ultra)
When I saw his video I knew he had a old demo on his computer.
Speaking of such, I need to finish recording a play through of your hack.
For some reason the emulator I have hates me for the past month.

Hello!

Long ago I had released a tool for hacking Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion. Originally it was called Zero Fission and written in VB6. It was then recoded in C/C++ and called Double Helix, since then it's had bugs and occasional updates.

So today I am proud to announce it will have a coming re-release hopefully to get people hacking these two amazing games. I wanted to show off it's features and hopefully get some sort of fanbase excited to start hacking it. So..without further adue.

There's also a room import, export feature and a spriteset editor and a door editor.

I'm hoping for the release before the end of the month. People with strong QA skills that want to test out and give me bug reports are very welcome.

So, I hope this can get some new GBAtroid hackers started!

Sweet man, nice to see you updating helix once again maybe I can fix my hack and export the palettes to a new rom.
If you don't mind me asking, are you going to continue working on smile ?
It would really make me happy, the 09 version you released isn't quite finished.

Nice to see you man.

~MikeFury~

Smile wasn't my project, I had a editor for SM called cheesy in the works but it fell through.

check out MetroidConstruction has all the latest tools for metroid haxing

Thanks man, I found out the information I needed before you replied back here, too bad jathys stopped working on smile.
But the new version run by somooe else is much better, my concern is that I want him to keep it updated like fusuyo did his lunar magic.

I be more than happy to pretest any betas that come out later in the year.

He's still working on it occasionally, Sczyer has Smile RF which will be coming out and there's also SMILE JX

Not to derail this thread any further, but I made some headway with the custom music.
When I left your board and made a post which is now "deleted", I had messed with addmusic last winter through spring time I inserted 4 songs into the rom.
It went in well , my 2 main problems, is that I don't know what super metroids instrument uses and if I can find some space for 1 or 2 slot space in the rom to insert about 10kb 20kb of data into it.
About smile, it has a weird way of saving stuff, snes9x zsnes 1.51 snesdsmul 0.6 wip had issues saying bad checsum in the rom.
Thats usually do to improper saving within the rom when being edited.
Is there a way to correct that over time with either smile release ?

You will need to contactt Pete ac on smwcentral or find him in irc when he logs on.
He may or may not have the original hack on his computer.
Never hurts to ask though. :|

I have tried asking Pac a long time back; he didn't remember the level sources either.

What the, oh boy, if he said that you may have one shot at this.
If you can find acmlm's archive on here or at jul, start looking through the old rom section forum and see if he may have hosted by chance or someone else.

If its not there it may not be able to hunt down after all.

Best of luck with your file searching.

Pardon me for a sec. but infidel I think you may need to relax a little bit.
Step away from the command prompt window and get some sleep.
Your having grammar golorr problems in your posts and messages.
I noticed you seem tired, not being mean but you'seem out of it.

Thanks Mike. Though I should point out the actual ROM itself isn't what I'm looking for. I'm trying to locate the sources of the World 9 and 0 levels, since they originated from ROM hacks of Super Mario Bros. made around the time SMB Enhanced/Deluxe came out, rather than being ports of the levels in Lost Levels.

I dont know many hacks based upon smb1 hacks especially snes style.
I'll dig around elsewhere and see what may come up/

Best of luck to you either way.

Last night I shrunk down my chr from 64x8kb, to 32x8kb, and began reshifting some chr pages, and reassigning specific page bytes, so I can make my rom work with ither emulators.

Nestopia crashes when you try to press start during the waterfall intro, confirmed by kuja killer via pc, and myself with the nestopia build within the latest retroarch for ps3.

However, kuja killer figured out the $5130 issue, so later tonight I will try to get my rom working on bintendulator, and if what kuja killer explained to me works, I wont have to give up my 64x8kb chr size.

EDIT
2/21/13 Alpha 0.5 Release

Taken from the Change Log...

2/21/13 Alpha 0.5

Regarding The Emulator 'Nestopia'

Confirmed by kuja killer via pc, and myself using the latest build of nestopia within RetroArch for the Playstation 3, my rom crashes once you try to press start after the intro. I do not know why this is happening. If i'm able to find out/figure out why this is happening, i will let Nestopia users know. But for now as of 2-21-13, Nestopia is not an option for playing this.

With that said, i believe i have fix for the sprite glitches everyone is experiencing, using emulators other than FCEUX. Again, users are encouraged to post any sprite gltiches if they're still present, even in this Alpha 0.5 build.

1. Reverted the CHR from 64x8kb to 32x8kb. This is so i'm able to have my sprites appear correctly in other emulators. The MMC5 register $5130, is giving me undesired results, and is the main reason why users that use different emulators other than FCEUX, experience errors with the sprites in the game. The sprites keep fetching BG tiles, when they're not supposed to. So this really hurts if the time comes for garnishing the bg's with chr swapping, since i've limited myself by shrinking the free space i once had.

2. Fixed a glitch where if you have the Blue or Red Potion, and you purchase the Big Shield, it would empty the potion bottle. This has been fixed.

3. I experienced yet again, a cursor freezing issue when you obtain the Empty Bottle first. Right now, it's set where you can move the cursor when you have only 1 item. But in doing that, the cursor box will move over a blank area. If you exit the inventory screen, the B box displays nothing, that is until you move Link. Once you move Link, the B box will display the lonely item you have in your inventory. This does not happen when you have 2 or more items in your inventory.

Alpha 0.5 Link
http://acmlm.kafuka.org/uploader/get.php?id=4392

I'll test this again on nesds since you have a new patch, I report back to you what I find.

Alright infidelt, this is your hack in fcuex
Upon play through I recommend you change over time.

1.please limit the sprite usage in the ow, the moblins shooting arrows specially five of em is giving my emulator slow down issues.
2.How enemie appears, let them just walk in from other sections like the old zelda.
3.The money game was clever, but gets annoying at most, think of cash in advance places we have in the usa.
4.The treasure locations, spread them out more, raise the price on the tunic to 400 rupees.
5.Work on your pitholes, if you have to make the player fall in when moving around, let em go on in and drop and loose half a heart.
6.the enemie with the dualing swords, I don't recommend he be in the ow not unless the player has enough energy to withstand that.
7 The grass tiles itself, I know you mean well, but even I can see that aint looking to good even in a nes game.

Those are what I saw in my play through of your hack.
Everything else looks fine at the moment.

I ran into a problem using FCEUX 2.1.4a.

At " C?46 " if you go the bottom path, coming in from the right, it locks up.

If you use the hex editor and change 0x000007 to 00 it unlocks it.

I don't know if you noticed yet but try fcuex 2.1.5.
Even though its a old version its still quite stable.

Id like someone with either experience, or a great sense of creativity that works and coexists with the already created world.

Funny you mention that, I don't have any nes hacking, but I know the original titles item locations.

I'd be more than happy to make a few suggestions if your group is willing to listen and implement the ideas without much hassle.
