So ive managed to pull off having all of the light world's screen id's, (00-FF aka 256 individual screens) to look at a vast table to decide what chr bank to load for the proper gfx to display.

Is it my phone, or did you only quote me? :-p

No, I typed in my message lastnight, I hit replie with my username and thing erased my message.
That and I was studying at the time and fell asleep at my computer only to be woken up by frank sonetra blasting on my sub woofers at 3am.

But I wanted to mention something if your going for a zelda 3 based game.
I recommend you look inside legend of zelda 4 rom and use some of the enemies.
Mainly the goblin and a few rare ones found inside the rom.
I think it would really make the hack stand out alot.
Its almost like a dahk daiz version hack that your doing.

I hope both of you release a small demo before christmas.
Speaking of which, I'll need to finish up some issues with my current hack I released.

Time flies so quickly when your busy doing multiple things and **** happens.

Well snarfblam only designed the level editor. I have written all the asm and done all of the constructions in the game, visual and sound wise. Is Zelda 4 a rom hack? Or is it a Zelda game that came out after LTTP? Im workin hard to prep a demo soon.

Legend of zela:links awakening for the gameboy.
I am sure your handy with a tile editor I used yychr to look inside of the gameboy rom.
Some stuff is already visible with in it, the others you would need to use a debugger and know which rom addresses are tracking the current gfx.

But I don't need to tell you that last tidbit, if googie appears again ask him for his assistance with the gfx ripping.

*facepalm* That is not what I meant! I am talking about remove patched rom to get ips patch!

Listen to what luna is saying, you go online, do some web searching and find the original unmodified rom.
Download it and download lunar ips tool

http://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lips/

Take the rom you have that is patched and do what you need to with it.
When a rom is patched, you can't magically reach inside it again and undo the changes or what not.

If you still need a assistance, have a stroll on over to zophars forum or irc and ask them.

Will posted in my Facebook wall saying that the project is on delay due to computer screen issues. His external monitor he currently have has poor color distribution with a 100% reddish tint. So he can't clearly distinguish one color from another. When WillJ get his computer, he will get back on his project.

I don't mean to intrude, but it sounds like the inverter or something connected to it has gone kaboom.
If his eyes start to burn from the monitor from fumes, its best he just tosses it in the garbage and pick up a new one if he can.

So I can't get ips patch from patched rom?

Thats right guy, whatever hack you have is permanent and cannot be undonsoue not unless it is opensource and the right hacking tools for it can edit it.
If you need the contents in it "maybe" doable editor wise.
But reversing it to the way it was seems very backwards and stupid
Start out fresh like puzzle dude said and go from there.

General interest in romhacking has declined. I was here around the very different times of 2001. A repeat of classic acmlm doesn't feel likely to work for board2.

Well as a oldbie like yourself what do you suggest, we have many different opinions.
I have looked over this thread many times and I do understand your statement to be very true.

I recommend we let acmlm be a small hacking site, by looking at who is online every so often people/bots are looking at certain information.

If the rom hacking forum begins to phaze out, I see we need to let the forum rest be archived permanently.

Everyone has moved on even I after getting involved in the acmlm department since late of 2002.

There are other sites that are dedicated to hacking, most people will go to dedicated sites for specific titles.

MikeFuryXP - Huh...well I will ask him if he have ips patch. If he don't have it, then what I can do with this? :/

You may get a gas can take the file off your computer to a flash drive.
Go outside and light the flash drive up and burn the thing to ashes, shed a tear and get a clean rom and do your own work.

I know you want this guys original work, but if he doesnt have it and no one on a site may have it by chance, your screwed. :/

For those of you who haven't played the original hack by him.
Since IceGoom is gone and out of the hacking scene this is one of his works he did.
I was able to grab this from a old archive of his webpage before his host deleted him.

The hack is complete and the ips is in the upload section.
Please enjoy it before this copy happens to go missing as well.

I'd be hacking more, but I've been too busy with my cartoons & just life in general. When I used to have a message board it was small, there was general, rom hacking & gaming. It was kinda active but when it stopped being active I deleted it.

Yeah, I think thats the main thing with all people lately "Life" becomes a priority before fun time if any.
I recommend to all hackers and old hackers, if you have projects going on, keep working on it.
When you have spare time to work on it do so, don't feel rush to bring it out due to public requests.

If you know your going to loose any work keep it backed up on a flash drive or other media.

SMWCentral says the game has 24 exits. Or is htis patch further along? Be nice if it were complete.

You would have to check that yourself, as far as I can tell from the old lunar mahic program everything seems completed.
Reason I hosted, because certain youtubers are looking for it, hope you enjoy, complete or not.

Well, I kept repeadetly using the computer. My mom tried to stop me, but I didn't stop. So now my parents gave up, Ii guess. Because nobody has been saying "Get off the computer!" or anything like that.

I see why your mom grounded you, you don't listen to authority well at home do you ?

Keep it up and you'll be lucky to see anything electronical again.
I'm surprised your mother hasn't taken that computer and locked it up in her car trunk or job.

If anything, you shouldn't get anything for christmas this year.

Hmm, I'll give a play through later on today.
The music "feels" like it came straight from castlevania...
Thank you for this and I'll read through the other site as well.

I played your hack when you released it, almost everything looks good.
1.5mb for a nes rom , thats about half the size of a normal snes .sfc or .smc image file.
It slowed up alot on me when you had too many enemies on the current screen.
Some are the beach side of hyrule near the westside of hyrule castle.
I tesed your hack on my 3ds, when I use the axis, everything goes to hell.
I blame that one on the ds emulator..

It looks very good and I see why you were caustious to release this.

Keep us updated.

The slowdown issues I may not be able to eliminate. I have alot of things going on, particulary the CHR engine. Im going to see if the slowdown with multiple enemies happens in the original Zelda, like in death mountain with the 5 or 6 blue dogs.

Im currently fixing up some glitches, and garnishing up the hud.

Hmmm, I noticed with this hack you were trying to make south hyrule feel like koholint island, am I right ?

If so, you know richards area from zelda 4, you could implement that feeling and design into zelda 1 if you wanted to..
To me when I see your hack, its like after ganon was banned right back to the dark world, here we see link 10 years later in a new generation of hyrule..

The mobs are loose robbing shops of new inventions, the octoroks are clogging up the beach working their way up to the river bank..
Trouble has begun to stir up once more in hyrule, but is link up to the challenge once more ?

But it seems people want the place to remain, even if it is in this state. :v

Let them have it, until these group of people fully stop posting for more than 30 days I say we pull the plug if it becomes a ghost town.
http://acmlm.kafuka.org/board/activeusers.php?time=2592000

I'm still waiting to see what black says about bringing board 2 to a close.
Best thing I can say about acmlm 2, is where most people started out from.
The chaos that insued us, the information, people in general.
And a high degree of teaching hacking by programming, technical advice or direct feedback. :|

So wut-a bout dat Megaman Ultra 2 ?

Did it die or what ?

All that work people did to help and for what ?

Was it too much ?

What was the point of restarting ?

Why did you make promises you knew you couldn't keep ?

Why did you start all these side projects ?

Do you just not care ?

Please don't take offense, i'm a concerned fan.

Buddy, you may have the wrong versions of his hack, did you download one of his betas by chance ?
I have his official release and wood mans stage was a hell of alot more different than that.

Also infidelt has finished his side projects as far as I know.

Hello!

Long ago I had released a tool for hacking Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid Fusion. Originally it was called Zero Fission and written in VB6. It was then recoded in C/C++ and called Double Helix, since then it's had bugs and occasional updates.

So today I am proud to announce it will have a coming re-release hopefully to get people hacking these two amazing games. I wanted to show off it's features and hopefully get some sort of fanbase excited to start hacking it. So..without further adue.

There's also a room import, export feature and a spriteset editor and a door editor.

I'm hoping for the release before the end of the month. People with strong QA skills that want to test out and give me bug reports are very welcome.

So, I hope this can get some new GBAtroid hackers started!

Sweet man, nice to see you updating helix once again maybe I can fix my hack and export the palettes to a new rom.
If you don't mind me asking, are you going to continue working on smile ?
It would really make me happy, the 09 version you released isn't quite finished.

Nice to see you man.

~MikeFury~
