Back before I lost Pearl I got all the Emerald event Pokemon with my (now broken) Gameshark. No hacked stats, I just went and caught them cause I really wanted a Ho-oh and a Lugia. Grabbed myself Deoxys and Mew. The events worked fine with the items (lol boat ride)

To do the D/P ones you can use an AR to grab the items through Mystery Gift. I myself walked through walls to get Shaymin, but I was freaked out to get Darkrai and Arceus cause I might break the game. And cause I only had my friend's AR for 15 minutes. :/

Very good points, and I agree wholeheartedly...

But some of those videos have links to MP3s , still, slideshows are stupid and annoying, especially when YouTube automatically recommends them for me because 1 tag matches up to a video I just watched ._.

Especially slideshows of... comics.... why not just upload them to a geocities, or shell out some money for a host or something?
