What exactly is that... something depicted in your layout?

Their user counts are indeed impressive.

The question is if a forum of that scale would be willing, or in fact able, to sustain a ROM hacking section considering its legal grey area status and their increased likelihood of attracting copyright lawyer eyes. Then, many communities prefer to play it friendly with (to avoid a harsher "suck up to") gaming industry entities so as to secure the occasional early inside information candy.

Also, ROM hacking has been said to be dead or dying for decades now. Even if the hype moves on (which it undoubtedly will, as today's younger generations grow up on "casual gaming" and 3D, neither of which is too easy or, even if it was, fun to hack), it's probably here to stay as a whole for quite a while.

What the ROM hacking community really could use, though, is someone or something to make hacking of non-Mario games competitive again.

For [svg]'s usage, check this thread.

Also, I figured the post toolbar generated SVG tag was kind of misleading, as it actually takes two additional parameters for the width and height of the image. Fixed that.

Text is positioned by the baseline's leftmost point. Thus, text at (0,0) would mostly be above the image's top border.

Annoying as it may be with the restarts and whatnot, you can be certain some form of security update will be there
In equivalent words, you can be certain some form of security issue will be there every week?

Hey Neil, did you know that a frightening amount of addons you've listed are included standard in Opera?

One more reason for me not to use Opera then. The frightening majority of addons he listed sounds like something I'd almost pay money not to crap my HD and browsing experience up with.

On the flipside, does Opera have equivalents for ANeC, DownThemAll, Perapera-kun, Firebug and Modify Headers at all?

Menu items aren't exactly my concern. The problem more is that it would land on my HD and be loaded with the browser.

ANeC provides an interface to add and modify cookies.
Perapera-kun is a hover-based dictionary for Japanese and Chinese which is vastly useful.
DownThemAll is a download manager with the added function of being able to automatically download a filtered subset of all links on a page.
Firebug is... Firebug.
Modify Headers allows you to edit/add/remove the HTTP headers in requests.

I was kind of surprised about this.

Then, I found that.

Well, not that Acmlmboard2 inherited either of the bugs and the popularity of the 1.x branch...

The PHP MySQL client binding does not allow executing multiple queries per call to begin with.

Also, 1A2 apparently even made it to a .gov page.

Its strong point was that it kind of lacked opaque abstractions and thus lent itself to customization well; with the publicly available code, it more than invited spinoffs.

Sorry, but no.

When posting threads about hacks, please include some actual information, and ideally make a convincing point about having changed more than moving a few blocks around and screwing up palettes. The bar for hacks is rather high these days, and this does not seem like you are putting anywhere near the effort to make it into it.

Before posting such a thread again, I recommend that you look at some other people's hack threads and get a general idea of what one should look like.

I will now close this thread.

I'm currently listening, as I was most of yesterday, to the opening song for Ghost In The Shell Stand Alone Complex, Inner Universe. I think it's a very nice song.

If there's one thing wrong with it, it has to be that I was stupid enough to read TVTropes' Crowning Moments of Heartwarming with it on repeat.

I remember hearing that song in a flash loop years ago at like 18kbps MP3. It was hardly discernible, but thanks to nativeness and the peculiar sound of the language, I kind of recognized it as Russian. Needless to say, I was surprised when I looked it up and found myself confirmed.

The Russian does sound nice. But is it and the given translation correct?
The singer is a Russian native. What given translation are you talking about, though?

That translation (it seems like it either was distilled from Google/Babelfish or made by somebody with fragmentary and superficial knowledge of Russian) is pretty bad - but then, even the transliteration of the original lyrics they provide is off at times. [A very small number of lines also is ambiguous due to unclear pronunciation]

In other words, squared failure.

In semi-related news, for a quite interesting example by the same singer,
Russian / Japanese version of the same song (the lyrics are pretty close in spirit, although far from being literal translation). (You can here her Japanese having a fairly thick Russian accent here...)

To post about what I'm actually listening to, Aimo O.C. from Macross Frontier is quite good at evoking a kind of patriotism for a non-existing country, doubly so if you understand the lyrics.

I think what he means is more like how the 1.x branch displayed an equivalent of the "3 users online: blackhole89, speedreemix, Trelior | 6 guests | 7 bots" line for each subforum.

I'll carefully consider working in Cellar Dweller's code once I manage to get a little bit more spare time forked off.

(I'm not sure how well this would work out without producing an inadequate sense of bloat.)

Thanks for everyone's input on the subject matter.
