Since it's been a while since the progress of the project has been comprehensively checked, or much has been done at all... have any new levels been completed since then? Are there any new test ROMs?

Also, what's our current position on the whole SuperFX thing/fitting the game into 2MB?

The principles of evolution apply. Throw a hundred "how do i edt levels??!!?!?!" noobs into a pot and let a bloody battle for recognition commence. The strongest, most willing to and capable of learning will eventually emerge.

Supernatural Wisdom? You'd just wind up like that guy (search the page for "Supernatural Wisdom").

Since all the good ones are already taken, I'll go with the option of generating electromagnetic waves of arbitrary intensity, position and direction, ideally with some macromanagement abilities on top of it to be able to, for instance, create perfect apparitions/mirages/illusions.

Since the thread has come back to life somewhat, a picture. Don't mind the angle, there are technical reasons for that.

From what I know, 32-bit Vista is technically limited to 4GB - regardless of whether you enable that mainframe address extension thing - with a practical value of somewhere in the lower half of the range between 3 and 4 GB due to a large part of the physical address space of $C0000000 and above being used up by hardware I/O ports that were placed there back in the days when 4GB of RAM were a utopia or people actually believed we'd get a new dominant PC processor architecture by the time we get there.

edit: I found this. Also, I suppose telling you to not go for Vista is a wasted effort at this point.

I moved from about 800MB, which I frequently exceeded, to 1.5GB, which are enough in 90% of the situations, the other 10% pretty much being when I debug an RO2 server while running the client on the same machine, which gives you the memory monstrosities that the IDE, the debugger, the server and client are at the same time.
But then, I'm on XP, so for Vista, 2GB+ should be worth it all the more. Of course, it still all depends on your computing habits. Not having a three-digit number of browser tabs open after a longer day speaks for managing with less RAM.

Why not get 2 more of those and don't worry about it for a long time?

They'll be cheaper and/or become obsolete, he will barely get to use anything of the last GB, etc.

For a price like that - go for it. If nothing else, you can always set up a RAM disk on the additional space. Those are vastly useful to tackle those "ZIP file that contains an installer which unpacks another installer that installs an installer that installs the target program" setups or generally whenever you need fast temporary storage space.

This is your life on anime.

I had similar incidents when being caught up in something interesting (mostly programming various gadgets on my end, though anime has been at fault several times too) enough to delay my departure for whatever event until the last minute. It's hard to get all your five senses back into reality on command after a phase of high concentration.

I remember spending a German class asleep back in grade... 10 or 9?, waking up minutes before the next shift and bolting down into the ground floor restroom (the first floor one was in repair). Now, the entrance to the men's ground floor restroom in that building was right opposite the stairs. Since I was in a hurry, I leaped down from the third step or so and went on to leap into the wide open restroom door. Or that was the plan, at least. Practically, the not constructed for my height metal frame objected. I only remember a sharp pain at the top of my head and finding myself lying on my back with my feet in the restroom shortly after.

At least I could use the injury as an excuse to skip the class.

Looking at your case, it seems somewhat odd to me that your ribs still hurt from pressure differences like that. I'd get them checked up.

Slashdot · ED · some conservative nutjob's blog claiming to have identified the individual

I heard about this on the radio earlier today, but somehow, not even the possibility of 4chan having a hand in this occured to me - the internet seemed such a large place until now. Needless to say, I actually laughed out loud when finding the article on ED's title page. This is the first time I hear of a 4chan shenanigan in "real life" before reading about it on the internet.

Fox' Bill O'Reilly used the opportunity to call for the FBI cutting the wires at "far left extremist" 4chan again - I do find a staunch conservative like him whining about how "there is no more privacy in this country" somewhat amusing, in the hypocritical way - and it would appear like the person who did it, once again, was careless about their identity. What do you think will the consequences be, and will they stretch out to mootles or all those various semi-related websites that hosted or linked to mirrors of the mails?

Fast forward to 2010 A.D.; a new thread about talking about one's failures has been posted.

Trax: "So there was this thread, in 2008, where I thought 'calculus' was an unusual or needy of an explanation for its usage word for calculus..."

By the way, we call the field "Analysis" here.

One of the more notable school failure moments in my life was somewhere around grade 8. I was passing the break before Biology class in a sorts of fencing duel with a classmate (yes, we did silly things like that), me equipped with a plastic pointer while he had the 1.somethingmeter blackboard-use ruler, swung out for a gracious hit and hit the flourescent lamp right above me and breaking it in two halves right where it was, which then proceeded to fall down on me. For a few seconds, I was just standing there confused as to what just happened while the white dust that was inside the tube settled around me, when somebody pointed out that I had blood running down my face. Apparently, one of the two halves that came crashing down struck me in the head with the sharp end down.
After finding out what I did to her lab's lighting, the biology teacher hated me even more than she did before.

Not the first time he calls 4chan that.
In Fox News slang, "far left", "leftist", "liberal" and "evil" seem to be fairly interchangeable terms anyway...

I don't think I'd even recognize you on the street if I got to know you with the beard before.

Are you on the run?

Those are fairly awesome.

I'm for adopting the green one as a default - though rotation according to some scheme (days?) would work nicely too.

"Plug Man"? I already see the first MEGADICK 9 hacks with a predictable renaming on the horizon.

So how closely did they keep to actual NES hardware limitations in the whole picture?

I think the green one works better since it contrasts well against the blue background while the blue fog still provides sorts of a logical link to the remaining design.

How about making a poll?
