Spore... is there more to that game or is it just about clicking together chimaeras in the editor? (I can't imagine that's all, but I haven't seen more of it anywhere so far...)

Custom blocks and sprites aren't a feature of LM to begin with, nor are they typically considered part of the "initial process". As far as I recall, some basic documentation as to the respective modus operandi was included with both blocktool and sprtool.

For the exits, note that SMW's levels are partitioned into "screens" (horizontally for horizontal levels and vertically for vertical levels; the width and height corresponds to the width/height of a single SNES screen respectively). For every screen, you can set a "screen exit"; whenever you pass through an exit-enabled object (pipe, door), you will be led through the screen exit of the screen that your X/Y position is situated in. (It's particularly important to note that it's not the location of the exit-enabled object that counts; if you have a door situated right next to a screen boundary, for instance, you can enter it in a manner that your top left corner still is in the previous screen, thus leading you through the previous screen's screen exit)

Screen exits are modified through "Levels"->"Add/Modify/Delete Screen Exits...". Each screen exit can either lead to a level (i.e. the level's (primary) entrance) or any of the $200 available secondary entrances (which are edited through the mostly self-explaining "Levels"->"Modify Secondary Entrances...").

Also, by pressing F1, you can toggle display of a level's screen partition and exits.

Currently, it's down due to the server erratically restarting in 5 minute to 10 hour intervals.

I'll have the datacenter guys check through the hardware in the early hours of tomorrow (10 hours from now), which might lead to some hours of total downtime. After that, hopefully, things will be fixed. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Touhou 06, "Embodiment of Scarlet Devil". And yeah, that port is rather neat.

A bit more on topic, what exactly is the concept behind "animation molds"?

In the territory of what was East Germany, there's a long-standing and at least somewhat true cliché of West Germans ("Wessies") being conceited and generally holding an opinion of "being from the superior part of Germany", although, at least in terms of infrastructure and general living quality, the reverse is often true. This also leads to a certain degree of two-party competition thinking between representatives of eastern and western states in federal science olympiads.

As for the US West Coast being liberal - well, I heard of rural Californians in particular being a rather conservative folk... the tendency to larger cities being politically more left-leaning seems to be global.

It's a misconception to think that this hack would receive fundamentally better reviews if the graphics or text were replaced in a way so as to actually be better; it still remains a few-minutes-of-work graphics hack.

The fact that the graphics edits aren't particularly appealing from a quality point of view and at the heart of it is a joke that lost its shock value around 1918 and its originality long before that doesn't exactly help.

It basically boils down to art. What is art? Good art raises passions in people. So thank you Silver X, for validating me as an artist!

So if I punched you in the face, you would consider that an act of art?

What is good art and what is not, is completely in the eye of the beholder. Its irrelevant really. Art is art. The purpose of art isn't always to make you happy or for you to like it. It can be a statement, it can be a protest. And of course, different people have different tastes. I respect that, do you?

If that's the case, the qualifier "art" is worthless and doesn't pose an acceptable excuse for a lack of originality and in the craftsmanship behind it.

Also, can we please try to discuss this on a more civil level?

I happen to have a friend who shares my chiptune/VGM enthusiasm, and the rest of my school class was assimilated through repeated playback during breaks.

For "odd" as in "I wouldn't admit to it in public", there's a certain amount of J-Pop/Anime theme songs for me. Those more often than not get one associated with a kind of people one would not like to be associated with.

For my final exams, I have the following results:

15 (highest possible grade, could be called "A+") in Advanced Maths and Advanced English
12 (equivalent of B+, somewhat disappointed with that) in Physics, going to take an additional exam to raise it to an "A-" 13
14 (plain "A", positively surprised here) in the oral exam in History

I could list my average marks in the other subjects here, but since they, in the German education system, weren't finals in the strict sense, I won't bother.

As a total, I get a 1.1 (1.0=best) graduation average, which could perhaps roughly be compared (quality differences of the education systems left aside) to a 3.9 US GPA. I'd have been glad to get a perfect 1.0 score, but I suppose I slacked too much over the two graduation-relevant years (here, the grades for the Abitur are accumulated from the regular grades over the course of two years then weighted against final exam results). For not having prepared for a single test before the finals and having scarcely done 10% of all homework given, I guess I still can be content.

Delmaru: Are there going to be any actual gameplay/engine changes or is it just a graphics-and-levels hack?

So far, as usual, we had mostly cool/rainy days, though the heat did get a nuisance on the few warmer ones. Since I rarely go outside, I'll still go with the "who cares" option.

As a little heads-up, AwesomeBotV2 shares my o:line and thus will never get kicked from flooding.

You guys, on the other hand, will get S/A/O entries once I'm back from serious real-life business.

I'd say the green brick background actually looks kind of cool.

This hack was before my time, though... I only entered the ROM hacking boat around 2003. Not that palette/graphics hacks were entirely extinct back then.
