Well, somebody would need to host that... besides, it could be argued that the ACS didn't really provoke more contents as much as it provoked more posts, and the content-per-post ratio at the moment really isn't something we should be worried about being too high at the moment...

That's interesting news indeed, considering that memory usage was one of my main concerns with Firefox (I still use it clenching my teeth though) so far. How's the porting of plugins coming along though (assuming any is done before release candidate stage at all)?

When did making videos for advertising your hack become such a fad anyway? (I blame SMWC...) The screenshotitis already was bad enough when people made shots of a level in half-a-screen steps. I mean, it's okay if you feel proud of it, but wouldn't it be for your own good too if you restrained from systematically spoiling what you consider your best levels yourself?

Other than that, this looks fairly nice. I'm looking forward to giving it a shot.

For me, the most important ones are Web Developer Toolbar, DownThemAll, AnEC, Firebug, Perapera-kun (embedded hovering-based Japanese dictionary) and Modify Headers. How's the situation looking with those?

What do you mean by "deleting it"? Overwrite it with a single colour? Either way, I would check if there are any particular pixels within the tile whose modification is causing that for further research. (Could it be that the bit pattern of the 'L' was used for something entirely unrelated as a shifty way of saving space? Regardless, figuring out the nature and location of the lockup (trace) would help)

Are you sure it's not just something screwing up from the editing process? (i.e. did you try seeing if it resumed working if you manually drew the original letter back into the tile?)

Either way, I positively would try out if the effect can be pinned out to any particular pixel, row or bitplane of it (does the NES graphics format even have distinct bitplanes?).

Could you drop a quick line as to where exactly you hooked the uploader routine call? I wanted to trace that (for an extensive song bankswitching hack for ToS) down but somehow never got around to.

I can't recall of any case of somebody posting a hack in ROM form actually being hunted down by the copyright holders within the nearing 5 years I've been in the ROM hacking scene, but, especially now that Nintendo has reassured their firm position on it (Virtual Console profit outlook?), the old adage of "Better safe than sorry" holds true. Besides, it's not just in your interest that you don't post a ROM link; since your identity isn't exactly in plain sight here, the board would inevitably be the first instance for the copyright holders to crack down on. So yeah, post as IPS.

Font courtesy of Drag. Don't mind the linebreaks, they aren't done automatically (my renderer treats everything as a continuous line

).

Since this is kind of bold and thus wasteful of space, I was thinking of using that font for headlines or short "WARNING! Instadeath glitch ahead" type messages while making a more compact one for large amounts of text. (In the current version of the code, we can have 256 different glyphs, though that could be further buffed up without a problem)

Thoughts?

I know I should just download and check for myself, but does this allow for editing the envelope, base frequency etc. settings of the instrument table entries as well (and does it contain any facilities particularly faciliating the latter)?

Well, the "defaultest" port for IRC is 6667, and that doesn't work for kuroi thanks to provider-side filtering; I think that's what he wanted to say.
