Can you be bothered to provide some screenshots, at least?

I think he made it fairly obvious that he's emulating his NES on an NDS, which, last I checked, didn't have a print screen key.

I'll see if I can give it a try then make some screenshots myself.

Awesome.

I wonder how specific its operation is (as in, how high are the chances that some random unrelated action like thinking of tomorrow's homework would be recognized as a "move the cube forward" action).

Either way, the thought of a mind-controlled video game pops into my mind... something where you'd only have to lean back and stare at the screen while thinking of actions sure would provide an interesting opposite-direction development to the "collapse of exhaustion after an hour" kind of Wii/dance/rhythm games that's getting popular lately.

In other news, I just finished watching Death Note.

It was awesome and all of you should follow my example.

I figure it's good if a clear amount of things that are worth doing but can't be pulled off with the editor alone (instead requiring assembly or whatever) remains; that way, hacking the game becomes more attractive for people who are beyond the point-and-click editing capability level and want a challenge while not being too limited by tedium in any creative efforts regarding it.

GRUNK: It's all out there. Wikipedia, Google. And yeah, what Ailure said...

Just out of curiosity, are there any favourites sticking out at the moment (as in worth having a look at)? I don't really want to go through all the submitted levels based on the horrible things I heard about some of them...

I just needed some way to creatively express my sentiment that Death Note is awesome.

Also, I'd say Cave Story's art style is more 2channelesque than anime...

I find this an interesting and perhaps overdue development. However, I think, for musicians to be able to make decent money on a voluntary-payment basis on the internet, it's important that the process of paying for things online becomes at least as trivial and hassle-free as throwing a 20ct coin into the hat of a street musician. Right now, even the most usability-focused "e-money" solutions seem to be bureaucratic beyond a reasonable treshold (How many of those of us who readily reward a sappy tune in a public place with a coin fling would consider writing and signing 20-cent cheques instead?).

In all the upheaval, I wonder how the RIAA will react to the threat of influence loss...

As long as only level format is concerned, relative similarities between different games (particularly ports and sequels of a series) are not unheard of... it's parts like the graphics and, of course, everything related to graphics and the processor, which includes assembly hacks as well as trivial editor functionality like mapping/address conversion, which cause the most problems.

LM's SMA2 support, I believe, was #defined out at compile time and thus never saw the light of the world outside of FuSoYa's private builds...

Well, I can imagine the secret code thing to make sense for features that would otherwise come off as either bloat/beyond what should be part of core editor functionality or are potentially not up to the remaining program's standards in terms of stability, reliability or easiness of use. A code could act as a basic shibboleth against those who shouldn't mess with that particular feature anyway...

Everyone in here, please stop derailing this thread. It's for collecting quotations from IRC and similar chats, not for discussion of those.

Who thinks that this thread will reach 5000 replies without lame postcount++?

Isn't it too late for that already?

Also, for all we know, global thermonuclear war might break lose before we hit the 5000 -post mark here.

6.5 month bump, check.
Unrelated to the topic/spam, check.
Capitalizing almost every initial letter at random, check.

I'd say this thread goes to hell.
