blackhole89, if I recall correctly.

While my microphone still is blasted, it can be gotten to work with holding the right contacts in the right position and I actually managed to talk to some people here back in the days.

Well, I know one of the ones I lived at (107) started at 101, so it isn't very rare here... I've never seen a single-digit outside of businesses.

Oftentimes, the numbering is just plain screwy... it follows no real order -- here, it's 1-3-5-7-9 and 2-4-6-8-0 depending on what side of the street you're on; in ohter areas it goes up by 4s, 8s, or other rediculous numbers...

It's actually common practice to give the houses on the right hand side of the street even and the left hand sided ones odd numbers (where left/right is defined in the direction of ascending numbers).
I don't think I've ever seen four-digit house numbers, and three-digit ones are quite rare here.

Or we could make it so newlines get replaced with
instead with
\n by the formatting code.

Going to do that at some point as well.

But for now, editpost.php... go!

It's still just a skeleton of what I still have in planning with the feature (and some things might be half-bugged still), but it fundamentally works. Report any issues with it to me instantly.

3. Quoting this post doesn't bring up the full post text in the quote box. I don't know if it's not reading the correct rev. number or what, since that post was edited 3 times...

Fixed. Looks like some code change got lost in up-/downloading there...

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.90

Somewhat correct, I suppose.

Now that the other board appears to no longer exist, can it get moved to the old address? Whenever I see a website on no-ip.org, I always assume it will go bye-bye in a few weeks.
We're actually on the same server as twilightro.kafuka.org, we just have no domain name. (I wonder how hard it'd be to put it on "acmlm.xkeeper.net"?)

But their server was down for a while, heh...

(The acmlm.org domain is, afaik, owned by ||bass. And he's never giving it up because as long as he can coast off of that domain's popularity, he pretty much has a free server to fuck around with.

I don't mind this server much, except it's in Germany, so... latency is pretty bad.)

The downtime was caused by the server machine's power supply blowing up (according to tech support), which, as I hope, shouldn't occur on a regular basis.
As for domains, I will probably ask Emuz to repoint the primary DNS record for kafuka.org to me, so something like acmlm.kafuka.org would be considered. Or we hire an altogether new TLD... for now, though, no-ip.org works, somewhat.

Dwedit: From what I know, ||bass is in possession of the server acmlm.org is hosted on.

Neither of the two boards have inherited any of the original Acmlmboard1.x code as far as I know. The other board is a full recode by ||bass, this one by Acmlm ("meat" of the code, 100% of what was there in the beginning and a good share of what was added later), Xkeeper and me.

I like the return of themes, but something has been bugging me. If you read all the threads in one forum and return to the index, the forum will still have the NEW sign next to it unless you use the "Mark forum read" thing.

Implemented that now.

I tend to refer to people with full nicknames except for some cases (ex: Ace, Xk, BMF). Also, I appear to have the tendency to keep referring to people by the nickname I first met them under for a looong time (ex: MajinBlueDragon rather than Keitaro), and nick changes often confuse me.

Also, me and my few real-life friends address each other by internet nicknames for most parts.

I call for postponing the deadline until tomorrow or in two games because I've been trying to get into a match with Ninetales for three days and either of us always was hindered.

They don't here either. After getting side-tracked into a small argument with my German teacher over another student's coursework (which was written in a horrible semi-cursive font), I demonstratively printed a three-page interpretation in a decorative fountain pen font. It was accepted, though the teacher was pissed off (which kind of was the effect I was up to achieve anyway).

6. Children should NOT be named after automobiles.
Examples: Mercedes, Lexus, Hummer, Oldsmobile

Un-truth: The car is named after the girl. The girl is not named after the car.

15) Never name your child a Japanese name outside of Japan.
Examples: Kaori, Sakura, Midori, Satoshi

How about names from outside of other cultures to other cultures? For example, should only Greek boys be named "Jason" and "Hector"? Or French girls "Claire"?

The USA and every other modern western nation's cultures are
(1) having Greek culture as an ancestor
(2) had a rather high amount of mutual exchange with French culture.
You can't say that of American and Japanese culture at the moment, though in two or three weeaboo generations from now, (2) might start being applicable.
Even so, saying Greek names in English are perfectly normal is an invalid generalization. Or do you see kids named Agamemnon a lot?

I guess this is the right point to point out that one of the arguments brought up above is flawed, since in Korea, "Kim" is a last name, not a first one... (as represented by the Chinese character 金) (in fact, you can easily distinguish Korean first names from last ones since the last ones have only one syllable while the first ones mostly have two)

C-C-COMBO BREAKER!
