Well, I can't claim actually having looked at it myself (the only social network side I joined to date, a German one for school students, struck me with its stupidity...), so I only can reproduce what I heard... but well, if you can send somebody a message but not view their profile, wouldn't even just googling for mail addresses be a less aimless way of gaining new contacts?

This doesn't look like a release to me, and even in the plain ROM hacking forum, just saying "I'm going to make ..." is frowned upon, because, as it used to say somewhere at some point (probably the old FAQ), you probably won't.
Make a thread when you actually have something to show. I'll close this and maneuver it over into trash after you've read this response. Thanks for your understanding.

Yeah, somebody with some amount of pixel graphics skill should draw them up. (By the way, I'm strongly in favour of replacing the "smooth" standard SMW pipe graphics with something similar to the "rusty"/"cast iron" look of YI's.

Your signature is suffering from horrible overload. Remove the marquee as well as the images' border (<img border=0...>) and consider generally reducing the amount of stuff in it. Otherwise, it's good.

So I went straight ahead and added a tower of spatula section to the board uploader. Once I get home, I'll also consider adding a function so that access to it can be limited to the group of people who expressed their will to participy; for now, it's public.

Go ahead and use it to upload ToS-related stuff; that's better than using things like sendspace or personal dyndnsed servers only up half the time.

How many times does this have to happen for people to learn to take backups of their important work? (Though I'm guess I'm not the one to talk with all the stuff that was lost in the serverside HD crash...)

Playing with beads was a popular pastime in my elementary school, even I did it... you pretty much have to employ your fantasy (not such a everyday thing in the age of Wiis and Gameboys anymore, is it?). One variant I remember being popular among our likes, for instance, was building little fortifications out of plastic dominoes and trying to shoot down each other's with the beads, taking turns.

While I haven't looked into non-SNES hacking at all before, as with Googie, this looks quite interesting enough for me to take a look. A hop over to C++ always is a wise decision too.

As for the release... well... I'm going to vote for New Year's, if only because I think an additional week to go through it and check for bugs is always worth it.

You need those to connect two machines directly. The send and receive signal wires in such a cable are rewired in such a way that one plug's "send" pin connects to the other's "receive" one, and vice versa. If both machines send and receive on the same wire respectively, you can't achieve connectivity for obvious reasons.

Some few network cards will automatically detect the necessity and internally cross. Other than that, you can only do with some manual work (cutting the outer shielding and rewiring the send and receive wires (they should be colour-coded in some way, google) accordingly.
