I am a 12th (last) grade high school/"Gymnasium" student. While I don't really do much for it (hardly ever my homework, rarely prepare for tests and the like), I am a rather good student and, for the most time, like or at least can bear with being at school (apart from it colliding with my sleep schedule).

The only paid job I had so far was a one-week internship at a computing corporation in Berlin that paid me 500€ (roughly $650-700).

My spare time and vacations, for the largest part, are spent at the computer; 14 hours a day are not unusual. I don't really have a social life outside the internet. When not traveling anywhere, the utmost other thing you might find me doing is reading a book, playing random things that get into my mind by ear on my keyboard or going outside to the not too far away central park, looking at nature in an old geezer manner and making use of the fresh air to get my head cleared.

One major thing I recall is being convinced that if I put enough Maple worksheet files into a folder together, they'll somehow react and turn into an EXE file after a while. That was when I was like 6.

At that time, I had no idea what binaries come from.

Maple worksheets were the closest to something being executed I knew apart from QBASIC (which I didn't have access to after we moved to Germany anymore).

Needs more of a beginning (and potentially ending) and the dissonant section towards the end of its first 1/3 is a tad too long. Other than that, not half bad.

What happened to my suggestion of making a subroutine to call another block's handler code by ID offset or absolute ID (without changing the actual map16 number of the current block)?

It's not "my staff".

Yes, I was pissed off by the circumstances of those bans, but Cirvante was a fool if he interpreted those as threats (and even more of a fool to run crying to mommy Xkeeper). I never once remember mentioning demotion at all either.

"You claim people like YD are worse than Grey Mario, but you don't ban even them. Why?"
Loaded question. Do I look like powerlevel 3 to you?

"Are you that obsessed with activity, that you let several trolling, flaming users run around causing chaos? In that case, why do you keep banning me? Most of my questions are honestly wonering what's going on in your head, not intended to be flaming or otherwise just being an asshole (right now). I thought you said, "no permabans"?"
Loaded question. Do I look like powerlevel 3 to you?

As for "you keep banning me", most bans of your reregs were not even done by me (yes, I know somebody other than your personally designated antichrist acting against you must come as a shock to you), nor with any particular instruction or presence on my part. Apart from that, I'd reckon it's perfectly reasonable to ban somebody who has been initially banned for repeatedly stirring drama, advertising his own forum, attempting to DoS the server and successfully dropping the database a number of times reregistering.

Since the "wondering what's going on in your head" is ridiculous out of somebody who doesn't give two shits about what other people think, couldn't you try to hide your intentions a bit better? Seriously, you are like the 8 year old kid who keeps running back and hurling insults at the others on the playground who told them they don't want to play with him anymore.

How about an extended ALTER_MAP16 routine that takes an X and Y offset from the current block, so you could, for instance, have it alter the block above or two blocks below?

What's the general position on how we are binding deactivation of layout display to an item rather than a "mundane" profile switch anyway?

Mind your tone, nobody here is obliged to help your needs. The swearing, capslock and general stupidity in asking the question was unnecessary.

As for sprite editing, you could always try searching the ROM in a generic-purpose graphics editor like YY-CHR; chances are they aren't compressed. And if they are, where would be the "hacking" in this if you didn't have to do anything yourself?

The original picture, no.

The art of its usage, yes.

To make a slightly more serious, but not at all more sophisticated post,

>>68112
Don't you realize that the assumption there must have been "some guy" to create anything is already utterly theistic by definition?
Truth to be told, though, some might find the conviction of being sent to heaven with a lifetime supply of booze and virgins to be more soothing than returning into nothingness with little more than a bit of potentially true knowledge as to what was for a certain time before us and what will be for a certain time after us.

I think the "shininess" of the rocks actually produces a fairly nice impression.

I also think you should reduce the contrast on the dirt texture a bit (i.e. make the dark and bright pixels a bit less dark and bright respectively) and possibly try adding a bit of texture beyond random distribution.

I don't have a separate folder for torrents, but my "general junk" folder is about 46GB, the bulk of it having been torrented at the one point or other.

I think that concept can actually work fairly well unless you are one of those people who can and will try to play it on an actual SNES. Thing is, for many of us, things like savestates long turned into a kind of reflex that is hard to turn off and effectively kills the complexity of any game. While making all hacks like that would be rather dull, I think it makes an interesting enough change to play something that is a challenge with extensive use of TASish tricks and impossible without instead of being mind-bogglingly easy with them and moderately challenging otherwise.
A good example for how this concept can be enjoyable would be one of the worlds in that VIP Mario hack (the third one, that is).

On a more related to the topic note, I should try this as soon as I have time.

Looks moderately interesting (only few actual scenes shown, apparently none of the 'fully custom soundtrack' was presented). However, among the things you shouldn't do are
- Talking Like This (It's Fucking Annoying)
- misplace commas in the in-video text (apart from the one after "in 2006", as far as I recall, every single comma should not, in fact, have been placed)
- keep such a low ratio of actual game video footage to text

To not sound that negative, though, I might add it looks like you did a quite good job at ripping the graphics.

Apparently, what you want is not what the current player base wants, so you have no point to argue.

Apart from that, I don't see any questions in there.

Yes, I used to build (and fire) them quite a lot in classes back in like grades 5-6.

Have you ever banned a user on a message board?
