Edit: How do you convert songs as I try to enter the actual program via MS-Dos and it comes up with garabge.

Any help?

It might help to run it from a fullscreened console (run cmd then press alt-return).

Everything starting with the sixth note of your "For Elise" intro part in the Boothoven song is one half tone too high-pitched. The notes should go like E, D#, E, D# E, H, D, C, A.
Other than that, everything, especially the overworld, in this looks rather impressive. Keep up the good work.

Er... no, the notes I typed up are correct. I don't see how a G should fit in there.

edit: I forgot the note names over here differed slightly from the ones used in the US. Replace the H with a B, or just look at the "German scheme" in here.

I have been using Russian dial-up with ancient impulse-dial bipolar wires for the past two days since here, some 600km east of Moscow, there's nothing else anyway.

Current speed is around 0.4KB/s, as for the pings... well...

I talked a bit to Acmlm earlier today, and he doesn't mind us continuing to use the forum system. Besides, many people contributed to board2 (including me, which means I am quite biased, but who isn't in some way...) and it would be a shame to throw all of that away; it just needs a bit more polish here and there to be as functional as any other board system.

cpubasic13, regarding your interpretation of (2), I have some comments (before everyone starts off with "there, blackhole89 seizing power lolololol", those are opinions, not some kind of orders as people who like drama tend to interpret everything I say).
First off, what do you mean by a "restart"? A wipe would be bad for the sake of said ROM hackers and wouldn't really yield much use other than scaring even more people away. Anything else doesn't deserve grave and important-sounding words like "restart"... (somehow makes me think of a German comic I saw somewhere where a computer addressed its user saying something that could be rendered as "'Reboot' sounds so cold and unpersonal... let's call it a new beginning!")
Secondly, why are you so concerned about the community getting some kind of, in the one or other way, "leader"/tyrannical overlord who gets to dictate his opinion? I see no reason why an administration of equals, given an amount of guidelines as a "constitution" agreed upon in the beginning, should not work; it also would minimize the chances of such a case repeating.
Regarding stag019, I personally have mixed feelings about the possibility of seeing him on any staff positions; while he certainly has the required skills and motivation, I have more and more gotten the impression of him being somewhat arrogant, overly ambitious (some may call it 'power hungry'), unfriendly and overall too reminiscent of a past case I remember all too well... I think there are other more appropriate candidates.

On another note, I will try pulling off a staff reorganization with the other administrators and possibly involvement of the rest of the community when I get back home; forgive my inactivity during the past seven days, but the possibilities of connecting to the internet are very limited and low-quality here in Russia, especially in the rural areas I spent a good percentage of the time. The latest incident hit me head on when I was connecting at an astonishing speed of 4.8kbit/s (the connection entirely stopped working a few minutes after I read about it), so I wasn't able to contribute my share to dealing with it... anyway, thanks for sticking with us despite all the drama to everyone, I guess.

edit: The post didn't look long enough, so I decided to add something.
In my opinion (see disclaimer on that above), a merger would not make much sense because (a) those who really wanted to merge presumably long would have joined ||board and (b) I got the impression that 95% of the merge proponents are people who were active on ||board only before Xkeeper got booted anyway, so such a merger would essentially mean "board2 gets blown up and a few of its members join ||board".

Does building in backdoors, truncating the DB multiple times and flooding 400MB into the PM table not count as board exploiting?

Well yeah, a strict "oligarchy" in the sense of an arbitrary group of people holding power would be a bad option... however, what I was referring to was, in fact, closer to the Meritocracy as you linked it; many of the differences do become immaterial in internet community context, making it being considerable sorts of a subform of oligarchy.
Other than that, I pretty much fully agree with you.

So jumping to conclusions on things you basically have no idea about isn't? I am not aware of changing anyone's password; within the last 7 days, my internet connection was so shitty (hello Russia) I would've had a hard time at doing so even if I wanted to.

On the other thing, I came online, talked to a few people (Ailure and some others I forgot) and then took a backup back up (hello dumb puns).

I don't recall issuing any bans without them being widely approved of in corresponding S/A/O threads beforehand either; please correct me if any of those occured. However, I'll gladly bring up your case of utter dickheadery and beginner's-grade trolling in there.
