I don't think I've changed anything about my desktop since I've last posted in here.

I like Lunaria's wallpaper, but the number of ponies in here as of late is somewhat unsettling...

So I got some cheap Chinese screw-on glass off the internets.

Lookie.

More in here.

The camera is a Panasonic Lumix GF1. The base lens I'm using is a Minolta MD mount f/1.7 50mm lens, mounted by adapter.

The camera was about £400 when I bought it (I assume you can get it for much cheaper now). The lens and adapter were something like £50 together (which is because the camera system they are for has been obsolete by decades by now). The teleconverter which contained the macro adapter was around £12, if memory serves right.

Well, I have counted at least four people registering so far...

Has anything interesting been going on on the internet today, anyway? I saw Google and xkcd, the latter in particular being quite elaborate, and then of course Wikipedia with its usual assortment of weird facts, but a lot of sites I frequent didn't have anything apparent...

I agree. I see them everywhere lately. Let alone deviantArt and Photobucket.

Thus I post my desktop again

Long ago, I used that background on my laptop during a brief ricing stage. It goes really well with zMatrix, as depicted.

Ah. Well, in that case, nice idea; the most pertinent application I can see would be something like particular easter eggs or secret exits only being, say, available between 50 and 55 minutes past an hour. (A beyond-just-cosmetic day/night system would be tricky - how would you deal with, say, players pausing emulation at "night" and then resuming in the middle of the "day"?)

As long as you leave the game in the emulator (meaning reset/pause it/leave it running/ or whatever) it will still keep time, but as soon as you load a new game the time would reset to the time you had in the patch, so one would need to make some sort of screen where the player could set the time. I planned on doing something like that, but I mine as well wait until LM can even support this.
Ah, I assumed that emulators' implementation of the clock would just use system time. What sort of LM support are you even thinking about, here?

Posted by Ailure
I'm honestly surprised time wasn't used more often (and earlier) in basis for events within games. I think only the Pokémon series dabbled around with this a few times, such as the day/night and the season system in Black and white.

A lot of Satellaview games did it, simply due to the necessity of having people online in time to receive new content being broadcast.

What's with Japan and its obsession with Moai...

Keep up the good work.

This is a quite impressive Flash Megaman fangame by the same guy who made Jinsei Owata's Great Adventure (which was the game that inspired IWBTG).

There's an artbook, too. So much OCD.

Yeah, definitively looks like an improvement. I think you should keep going; LoZ3 hacking was always hampered by the lack of graphical alternatives.

Quite a lot about the graphics stack changed between the two OSes. You could try downloading latest DX redistributables as a ditch effort of sorts, but chances are you won't be able to recover the FPS. That sort of thing is expectable when you update though... by how much did the framerate decrease?

Go for it. I was one of the people who lost patience with it at some point, and from what I heard about the general quality of it, I probably did wind up missing out by doing so; a balancing remake would be much appreciated.

Some more work on my RPG engine. A general project thread in Computing would be nice to have, too, I think...

Yeah, in all the years I've been around, I'm not aware of a single case of somebody actually getting sued over what they did. The worst that could happen (and has happened with some high-profile projects) would be that you - or, more likely, the most high profile site hosting your work, since it would be extremely difficult for them to track you down without some site you publish on assisting - would be served a C&D notice. Some music is not going to exacerbate that; you are already using their graphical assets and code.

It's also extremely unlikely that they would serve a C&D notice in a non-DMCA country (board2 is hosted in Germany) anyway. In that regard - "just keep doing it, everyone else does it as well".

The FAQ actually pretty explicitly states that you should not do that.

I'm sure that if anyone had what you are looking for or knew where to look for it, I'm sure they would have replied by now. Some additional information on what those tools you are looking for are supposed for, at least, would have been useful...

Not bad; the "bee" might look better if you make the wings' movement less jerky/linear. (For maximum OCD, have a look at slow-motion videos of real bees on youtube...)
