Three or four rockets, and building a massive igloo with the MO people I was (and still am, hence my relative lack of presence) staying with.

A happy new year to all of you from me too, either way.

Check MacUpdate.com, you will probably find what you are looking for...
I use HexEdit, which is probably not as good as many other Hex Editors out there in terms of spiffy functions, but it's enough for me...

I just looked through there (Thank you for the link BTW), and I found something called Hex-Fiend

It is a 16 [0f in hex] based Hex editor (By default), instead of it showing 22 [16 in hex] like it showed in the pic.

Thanks again!

That... kind of doesn't make a lot of sense.

Also, in my experience, there is a continuous shortage of decent binary editing utilities for operating systems that are not Windows. With decent display drivers, even doing something like running XVI32 under Wine/Crossover/Parallels/whatever the canonical mac winapi emulation layer is might make sense.

(But then, what does a Mac user want with a hex editor anyway...?)

Well, I reckon it's a different story in Australia, seeing how it is around the height of summer there at the moment...

Well, I don't have an iPhone and, given my deep aversion to Apple and their products, most likely never will...

...but I suppose this looks quite decent for something you would play on your phone. (What did you make those graphics in/how did you make them?) One thing you could do is tweaking small things about the animation like the slide stance looking slightly off (not like proper sliding would look) and the walk frame seemingly resuming at an arbitrary offset (probably governed by a frame counter or something) upon landing.

Eh, I wouldn't say it's faked - it's more likely he just pasted the item box tiles there on the title layer.

But yeah, even though some of you put it in an unnecessary rude way, really, what you posted doesn't imply any degree of ability that would make others interested in cooperating with you. Have a look at other hacks to get a better idea of what level of achievement is expected these days, and most importantly, practice on your own until you are past the stage where every trivial edit seems awesome to you just because.

I think the original PC version did a slightly better job at maintaining the atmosphere than the Wii version with its beefed up graphics, partly because simplicity plus imagination does a much better job at being horrifying than cute vector graphics can.

So, for those who haven't noticed yet, there now is, per request, a link to the radio among the page header links.

One alternative to the present way of doing it would be actually linking to a page that has a Java applet or whatever playing from the radio. Which one do you think is better?

I've been playing Koumajou Densetsu, sometimes known as "Touhouvania" (exactly what it says on the tin).

It's quite amusing as a generic timewaster.

Eh, I reckon it's not all that bad given that content was added.

Generally, you should pay attention to when a thread was last posted in to avoid utterly dead topics being necromanced up at the expense of more recent ones.

More on topic, it's indeed rather unusual to see something mostly associated with devoid of quality sprite hacks like a naked protagonist in what seems to be an intricate and high-quality hack. I'll give it a shot later.

Well, except for the syntax of the language having a different effect on how the brain develops.
While this hypothesis seems natural and indeed, I would be quite inclined to subscribe to it, it seems to be the case that the scientific consensus considers it obsolete/discredited, at least in a sufficiently strong form to be interesting. But then, of course, psychology is rather susceptible to politically-motivated fads...

Ailure: I can assure you that understanding the language makes it an order of magnitude crazier.

First of all, this thread belongs into Hardware/Software; moved it there.

Secondly, could you provide a little more detail? Like what camera it is, which drivers you have installed, what website it is etc.; what you did there is almost akin to posting "My computer crashed. What do I do?" on a tech support site.

Nikolaj: How much are they paying you, now?

What is this evil wizardry?

Or rather, what approach do you recommend to work with it in a sensible manner? My first intuition was to (tail -f out &) && cat > in, but that obviously only really works well while you stay in a single channel.

Hex editor
Radare

Now this looks rather interesting.

Also, your example wouldn’t work because nothing would get written until the cat process receives an EOF. You would have to re‐run cat every time you said something.
My cat (GNU coreutils - which one does openbsd use anyway, heirloom?) flushes upon receiving \n. I don't see a reason for it not to do so, either; it would make it horribly inefficient, if not useless, for piping things through (I suppose "an infinite stream" alone would make the use of cat itself questionable, but imagine, for instance, the rather realistic use case where you want to pipe a potentially very large/open-ended stream coming from somewhere into gzip, appending a finite terminator if it ends).

The blandness of that desktop notwithstanding, you have rather large fonts. Is that just your panel or did you raise the dpi values for everything?

The Java or Flash aren't faulty as there are no errors occuring
I'd consider the browser crashing an error...

Anyway, one piece of information that would be useful is if you went on an arbitrary site having flash not using a webcam (e.g. Youtube), rightclicked the flash plugin's render area, clicked "settings", went to the webcam tab and told us what entries it lists.
