Restored after an initial burn because this could actually be seen as having some artistic merit, although I don't really see where the name comes from.

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

From a single crack in the storm-clouded sky, a light shines down from the heavens, illuminating a solemn figure standing amid the wasteland. Guidance it may not bring - but, perhaps, opportunity. The figure raises its staff upwards, as if to accept the gesture of the skies. A shell of energy expands through the world. The figure undergoes a palette swap.

Seriously, though, given that my first impression of Metal Slug were bishoujo characters being used in somebody's layout (Ice Man's, I think, perhaps even back in the days when he still was "Hidden Mario"), I'm not at all surprised, and don't even see how it is supposed to be particularly revolting, unless some of the posters in that forum are crew cut commando-wannabe types who find it outrageous to see the troops defiled with that kind of thing.

Nice, that's roughly how I pictured it.

An appropriate acoustic background would be the sound sequence associated with class changes in SD3.

SD3.

While Gilgamesh also is a fabulous song, there's no way I could consider it superior to the sheer epicness of Sacrifice(III).

If you post the Japanese text in here, I reckon some translations could be tossed back at you.

Mario Something
He, too, is [yorock]!! (honestly, no idea what that is... googling would imply some type of rock as in the musical direction)

Some kind of tip thing.
Tip 1
Gobble-gobble-gobble [rin]
Sushitarou (I reckon this would just be meant as a generic male name based on sushi - an appropriate name for an anthropomorphic fish, perhaps?)
Yoyuuda-kun ("yoyuu da" means "[I'm] idle/slacking off/have nothing to do")
Don't sweat it, ok? (as in "don't be in such a rush")

variation 1:
Waree! Waree! (No idea, really)

variation 2:
Let's go at a leisurely pace!

Tip 2
Quite delicious
the calm and composed
Yoyuuda-kun
Waree! Waree!

Lufia 2.

I never enjoyed Dancing Mad at all. It's pretentious in its orchestration and melodically boring and dissonant.

Well, even assuming that there is spare ROM space, you'd have to find whatever points at the location of each string and have that point elsewhere. The easiest constellation for you would be if there is a table indexing the starting addresses of all strings somewhere.

...wow. I can blame my bad fonts and tired eyes for not immediately telling those apart visually, but the degree of brain burn I must be experiencing to not make the connection is unforgivable.

Either way, "kare mo yoroshiku" would be very roughly "please take care of him as well", something you'd typically say when you introduce a person who is more closely associated with yourself than the person you are talking to to a person who is treating you as more of a reference point than the new introducee (e.g. if the speaker is a scientist talking to another scientist from elsewhere and introducing his new graduate paperwork slave to him).

Yes, Japanese social structure is conflated.

Ys.

While the La-Mulana song is nice and engaging, it falls short of the sheer beauty of the Ys one. With the flowing and majestic, yet still deep and somewhat foreboding melody set in quite natural-sounding or at least very high-quality instruments, it has won me over.

Also, I propose that the voting for the (semi)finals is held for a longer timespan than a single day.

I very much like the last one, perhaps because you succeeded to a larger degree than with the previous ones to create texture and lighting from the lines.

Did you use a tablet or similar or was the drawing performed with a mouse?

I got hooked on Suikoden II (and there goes my night). So far, it's been fabulous; instead of going the FF/Paper Mario/... way of doing 3D gimmickery, it is more similar to SotN in how it sticks to the pixel-crafted goodness and gameplay of a SNES-age RPG, extended past the technical limitations of older platforms.

This is a rather interesting standoff. Both songs are last boss themes (although they slightly differ as being the "first" (Xenogears) vs. the "second" themes of their respective games, with Xenogears' "second" last boss battle song being a rather curious/unusual one but all the more glorious in being that and SD3's "first" being more of an amelodic high-tension tune), both are melodic and paced similarly, and both are (if you ask me) great. Of course, there are differences - and the differences, I dare say, are indicative of the differences between the two games the respective songs are from themselves. In line with Xenogears' existentialist science-fiction setting, Awakening has a metallic, grim, somewhat cynical dark sound; Sacrifice(III), meanwhile, is, much like the general world the Mana games are set in, flashy and somewhat eccentric - although it quite easily sails around sounding inappropriately happy, it still has a certain widgetty (in the TVTropes "widget series" sense) flavour to it, perhaps something that immediately screams "JRPG" - and "Mana series" specifically - , that is absent from Xenogears. It is this flashy eccentricity, leaving me in somewhat of a want for comparisons with which to describe it (even the traditionally weird and distinctive Japanese musicians like Susumu Hirasawa or YMO don't quite hit the nail on the head) that gives Sacrifice (III) a certain edge in terms of uniqueness and recognizability that, although I might like the sound of Awakening more, ultimately, in a heart-rending decision, leads me cast my vote for Seiken Densetsu 3.
