Sorry, but I don't think RTLs work like that.

First of all, you should state what exactly your code is *supposed* to do; without that, the information that it doesn't do what it is supposed to do is not very valuable.

Secondly, as DarkBoyHacker pointed out, it seems to me like your parameter sigils might be off. If you want to load a particular "constant" (immediate) byte into the accumulator, you should prefix it with #$, i.e. LDA #$00, LDA #$01 etc.; the same also goes for your CMP instruction, i.e. you probably want CMP #$30.

There is nothing wrong with your returning strategy; it just had one RTL tht you didn't really need as something like bcc return, ..., return: RTL would have sufficed. The "label:" thing does not correspond an actual opcode - it's just a clue for the compiler to record the position the next opcode winds up at and use it for branches which go off to that label.

This could happen if
- you are closing less table tags than you have opened at any point
- you open or close a tr at top level
- you open or close a td at top level.

Are you even listening? "LDA $00" doesn't necessarily load 00 into the accumulator, and "LDA $01" doesn't necessarily load 01. "LDA $00"/"LDA $01" and "LDA #$00"/"LDA #$01" are different things respectively, and you want to do the latter.

I use the other "Incoming Enemy!" Star Fox BGM as my cellphone's ringtone, though mostly for the "Incoming Enemy!" part.

I really don't understand what's supposed to be so good about Yume wa Owaranai. Sure, it's a technically rare feat for the underlying hardware, but judged on its own, I'd consider it at best average...

Now, have some of my suggestions:

<- Star Fox - Ending

<- Secret of Mana - Time Enough for Love ("Give Love its Rightful Time", see my rant thread about soundtrack titles)

<- Seiken Densetsu 3 - The Sacrifice, Part III

<- Lufia II - Last Duel (only found LQ version...)

If I ever get into a position to determine such things, I am so going to have that employed as elevator music in the real world.

Nice exposition post, and nice songs. I shall throw some in:

Rocket Knight Adventures - Stage 3:

I find the old-fashioned, whimsical-yet-somehow-solemn, somehow reminiscent of a French circus style of this song strangely alluring.

Gunstar Heroes - Ending:

You always could change your layout to use it as a font.

That being said, regarding the IRC embargo, I reckoned it would at least be worth trying it out for a while.

On that matter, I vaguely recall that some newer HTML or CSS standards allowed for linking in fonts from URLs. Is that actually the case (and do any browsers actually support it)?

Ah. Apparently, it's mostly supported (although the SVG fonts thing doesn't seem to work for me).

Somebody should have told me earlier.

Great things could be wrought from this.

He might have mistaken it for the SMW addmusic... although I somehow vaguely recall hearing about the existence of that kind of utility for some SMB game.

The +m is temporary and just there to force people to talk on the board more.

It seems to be working reasonably well so far.

If you don't understand something, the one consequence to draw that is truly in line with the hacker spirit is that you should try to change that circumstance.

FSNASM apparently is an assembler (as in a program to translate human-readable assembly source into machine code) that was written by the same guy who made Hyrule Magic. It seems like the application itself has dropped off the face of the internet at the moment, but chances are good that some of the resident Zelda 3 people (MathOnNapkins, Torin...) still have a copy and could put it on the uploader for you.

For reverse engineering assembly, you are probably best off with a disassembler (i.e. a tool that does the reverse conversion from machine code to a human-readable format). This (probably quite useful if you want to screw around) and that (haven't tested) follow very different approaches.
For NES (6502), there also is an input plugin for the excellent code analysis tool IDA, but I don't think anyone has made one for 65c816 so far.

Also, I added the appropriate tags for you.

It all depends on how you define a crime. If a crime is what is illegal under the respective jurisdiction, you can trivially construct an entirely crime-free country by not passing any laws.

If, on the other hand, you consider the moral police pushing children who try to escape back into a burning girls' school because they aren't aren't properly covered criminal conduct... (if source links are required, I can provide)

On that matter, I think Prof Hawking is being excessively optimistic. This might be not surprising in someone who is pretty much physically bound to the deepest pits of the bubble of academia in a country where religious people don't have the degree of influence they have in a United States or Saudi Arabia anyway, but really, up here, it is all too easy to maintain the illusion. As time progresses, science becomes more and more fractured, not united, simply by the continuing branching up due to its progress, and the well has long been poisoned as far as individual scientists falling victim to religious thought - perhaps of a "oh, we have a perfectly natural explanation for what is happening in the particular field I am in, but I don't really understand what's going on in this and that field I'm not really specialized in and I feel better by believing all of that is controlled by a personal deity anyway" flavour - goes. With a cacophony of individuals who are only willing to concede a secular interpretation of their own particular field of specialization and couldn't consistently defend the nonreligious view on something that is outside of their field even if they wanted to, any organized scientific opposition that would be capable of swaying society-at-large is unlikely.
