If all went as planned, this should also work.

(This is pretty ancient; I downloaded it in 2006-05, according to the file timestamp.)

Quite nice. (For some reason, I wound up looking like a 70s' rocker of sorts, though. )

Diagonal lines seem to look somewhat jagged. Did you rescale the panels?

So, as far as I understand, you want to make a Korean translation of SMRPG but found yourself incapable of fitting all possible Hangul characters in the character set available?

I don't think it will be straightforward or even possible (if a lot of layer 3 character space is used up by other things) to fit every character separately.
I think the best approach here - which SMRPG's present variable-width font rendering system might, in fact, already support, based on how its rendering is done - would be to create separate characters for each jamo in each possible position (i.e. have a character being a ㄹ in the top left corner, one character being a ㄹ at the bottom, one character being a ㅑ in the top right corner etc.) and have only the last character actually advance the rendering position, thus having each Hangul character being represented by a series of multiple characters, each standing for one of the jamo; you could compare this to how modern unicode standards allow forming letters like â as a combination of a "zero-width" ^ and an a.

Of course, assuming that Lazy Shell won't allow you to tinker around with SMRPG's rendering code to that degree, you'll most likely have to write the font tables yourself or even change the SMRPG VWF renderer's code (if it uses destructive rather than additive rendering); in other words, you will likely have to do some programming or even assembly hacking.

There is no obvious way of controlling the flash plugin's volume from "outside".

Also, the icon really is meant to stand for a "flash of lightning" - or possibly this guy.

Yes, I understand what your problem is.

I will try to ask a Korean friend of mine to translate a rough outline of my previous post.

Long thread names, long usernames, your screen resolution being rather low. Your browser finds yourself forced to linebreak before the AM/PM in order to be able to fit everything in horizontally, causing the last post column's cells to be three lines rather than two lines tall.

You could try switching your timestamps to 24-hour display if it bothers you, reduce relative font size... or just get a larger-resolution monitor.

I think dragonboy is a troll.

Either way, everything smkdan said is pretty much right and demonstrates that he has considerably better insight into the issue at hand than dragonboy does. If they are the least bit attentive to what is going on in their forum and have some kind of basic concern for civility and quality in their board, SMWC's staff should give dragonboy a medium-length cooldown ban to reflect over his actions. I still think that he's a troll, though.

Oh.

Oh.

I should have seen it coming. Mind me, I must be really getting old.

smkdan: Thanks for your closing words. I positively second your advice.

Aaendi: Although believing in your own abilities generally is a good starting point for solving problems others might all too eagerly capitulate before, overdoing it to the degree you do will not only alienate and annoy people around you but solidly cross the line separating it from courage and determination and enter the realm of foolhardiness. You might be used to having a degree of knowledge and ability in certain things that is not found in anyone around you in real life; that does not, however, necessarily have to carry over anywhere you go. There are plenty of people with a far higher degree of ability and experience than you around here, and you don't generally see them going around and demanding kowtows, submission and praise. If you want to receive help, it's all the more advisable to show some deference.

Considering the case of attempted deception and KP9000's stance on the matter, I will now proceed to close and eventually dispose of this thread.

Fluent in German, English/Russian, Japanese, sorted in descending order by ability (the / indicates a tie or indecision kind of thing, as I have hard to compare strengths and weaknesses in the two), also having some latent and continuously rotting away knowledge of Latin.

Well, it's something you enabled on your own at some point. I suppose I could force everyone's browsers to forget it by just renaming both password fields. I must admit I've been a little bit irate at people setting their browsers to do that because especially in the case of administrators, it caused countless accidents of them setting the passwords of other accounts they edited to theirs.

But eh, fixed it as initially suggested. Forgive my initial laziness.

Posted by Kawa
Da mihi sis bubulae frustrum assae, solana tuberosa in modo gallico fricta, ac quassum lactatum coagulatum crassum.

That's a rather roundabout way of describing things... not to mention that the first part only refers to the meat ("a fried piece of beef") rather than the whole food item, unlike those internet sources of the phrase I can find on the google seem to suggest or assume.

... which makes me wonder whether there is a Vatican City branch of McDonalds, and if they actually use Ecclesiastical Latin as their primary language of service if there is.

Also, Latin isn't really difficult. It's much more logical and straightforward than French, and I find it rather useful to understand origins and meanings of Romance vocabulary in various other European languages anyway.

Sorry, but this isn't 4chan and stupid links to *roll sites is neither considered witty nor otherwise encouraged around here.

Consider this a semi-official warning, which might or might not be followed by action from the administrators.
