Glad to see the thread is alive and well. Also, I see we have some connoisseurs around.

I wondered how the latter picture was made (I have a bunch more by the same person, drawn in the same style). If looked at closely, it seems like some combination of, curiously, wax crayons and mspaint...

There was a small number of security breaches during the split wars. As far as I can recall, apart from a couple of small-risk JS-based cookie stealing (which we got covered after that) attacks, all we ever got were the backdoors Xk left behind in the code after getting the boot and one fairly impressive attack by stag019 which depended on a security hole that only became effective with 1.x (i.e. the archives) and 2.x running on the same server; the actual hole was in the 1.x board, it's just that you needed an aspect of 2.x to be able to efficiently exploit it.

This is not related, in any way, to SMRPG hacking as far as I can tell, and is, in fact, not a thread that would be tolerated anywhere else either. Also, your choice of thread titles is horrible.

I shall now can this.

In most of them, the legs seem quite a bit too long to match the official designs...

Looks pretty decent; I think you just should lower the contrast on the ground textures a little.

Also, adding some texture to the wall tiles would be an interesting thing to try, although I have no idea whether there's any chance of making it look decent.

Also, you should try and make some more changes to the large tree graphics.

People did epic hacks of SMW back before any documentation existed.

The trick is that you don't keep all of it in memory; you keep just general and coarse-grained enough information in your head that you can reconstruct any information you need to achieve a particular goal from looking at the code in very little time, i.e. "knowing where to look".

How about this?

1) Go to IRC
2) Convince an administrator that you are indeed the person who you claim to be; they might wish to verify this by comparing IPs, browser signatures or similar or simply check your ownership of any websites or mail addresses you provided in your profile, with especially the latter being pretty much equivalent to setting a "reset your password here" mail address
3) get new password

Try contacting an administrator about this. If you can provide sufficient proof of being that user (e.g. by showing that "jukk4salmela(@)gmail(dot)com" belongs to you), they will reset the password on your previous account.

Sadly, I'm inclined to agree with the aforementioned posters. I can't see how anyone would pay $150 for this; as a single manual producer, you can't really keep up with the price standards set by mass-producing poster forges.

But then, of course, with eBay, you never know how much somebody winds up forking out...

The graphics, especially the forest ones, look really sweet for a NES game. Nice work.

What exactly is the issue with dungeons?

Especially for Snes9x/ZSNES' source code, I really wouldn't recommend looking at the SuperFX code at all. It's a horrible hack that has little to do with how the chip actually works.

There are comprehensive official documents on the SuperFX chip floating around. I'd upload you my copy, but it's on my desktop machine which currently isn't even in the same country as me.

edit: I'm pretty sure the same kind of official documents also is floating around for the SA-1.

It would require somebody willing to pick up the management/baserom assembly thing. If anybody is interested, I have Sukasa's folder structure somewhere.

I wonder if he will also have to register as a sexual offender. If that is the case, from what I heard, this might be the significantly more severe, compared to the 6 months of jail time, part of the sentence.

It seems like, in Western countries, you can pass pretty much everything nowadays if you successfully appeal to people's sense of public moral order, which is very effectively achieved if they perceive their notions of purity (i.e. children) as under attack. I'd contend the number of people who actually give two shits about the children is minuscule compared to the number of people who are appalled at the idea of someone getting off to them; if you consider that, regulations on "drawn child pornography" don't seem all that surprised anymore.

clicky and watch the video

They are really desperate to reclaim a piece of the information retrieval and analysis market cake from Google, it seems; but as this illustrates quite nicely, whoever loses the competition, we probably will end up winning (barring difficult-to-anticipate considerations like how much will be left of Google's role as a "force for good" if they are put under competitive pressure).

So the gameplay essentially takes place on the surface of a cylinder with varying radius?

Seems like it would be pretty neat gameplay-wise to me.

The music seems a little bit repetitive in places, but the graphics are pretty.

I always hated the taste of cucumbers, they were specially gross on McDonald's burgers.

As a person of slavic cultural background, I alwas found McDonalds' inferior pickling techniques rather appalling.

Properly pickled cucumbers are delicious.

I don't think "Man_" refers to the English word. It's more likely to be a reference to a Japanese colloquialism for female genitalia with the last syllable censored out, which would make it awwwright with the Christians again.

Also, would that imply that, if you founded a community with anything-goes people, you would be fine to wank at whatever you want again?

If you want to get something in the middle of the two, why don't you just do a 50% blend between them?

Sounds like a bit of a crackpot idea, but it might just work if you actually want "some of the grainy detail and some of the quality-looking smoothness".
