i'm not sure what everyone's beef with vista is. my only real problem with it is it's the same thing as xp but windows explorer is different and that it's not that different from xp.
sure its size is about 16 gb, but having 112ish gb available sort of makes it seem unsignificant. 5000 mp3s is probably around 5 gb. big games are between 1 and 2 gb. 26 episodes of some random anime is around 3 gb... hd space is no problem for me. ram isn't much of an issue for me either. i'm running a winamp playlist with about 2000 songs, AIM, skype, mIRC on 5 servers and 18 channels, FIREFOX using 2 tabs, daemon tools with one mounted iso, as well as 2x explorer and one folder open... and i have 500/1024 mb/ram free. ram is not a problem whatsoever. sure it could be using less, but how the fuck am i going to add another 500 mb of crap on? i'm already running things i normally run. there's not going to be much else i'll open aside from maybe gunbound or ro or some game. |

you can just change the interface back to classic(i always did that). it's really not that bad. mine is changed so that isn't really a problem for me.
i never noticed problems with system stability. my highest uptime was probably 3 or 4 weeks, but i use a laptop so uptime isn't quite a necessity(right now? uptime is maybe 5 minutes since installing clonecd.) the driver issues like you said will be fixed as time goes on(and it was released relatively recently too.. february?). the only thing i can think of with "interface is quite different"(which i think is a bit vague) is that it's meant to be different. it's a new os, but you can still change to classic settings(that's what i did for a few things). i think the best change is the start menu. it's no longer a giant beast of crap filling the screen, but more like a folder in 'list' style that uses up little space, loads instantly, and can be scrolled through. it's really quite nice. another new thing i like is how the task manager can be accessed by right clicking the task bar. being windows underneath is what's to keep people using it. i wouldn't really like a HUGE change unless it was necessary or useful... it's still an os and it's not designed to cater to the needs of everyone. you should use it your own way and if it doesn't suit you, just switch to something that does. it's just like people complaining about mac os x, linux, etc(here's where i probably sound like a hypocrite, but in my own defense i only make fun of people who use linux(if they brag about it) because i knew someone for a LONG TIME who complained endlessly about windows and bragged about linux being better... and since then i always realized how funny it was to troll linux users.). if it doesn't suit your needs, you don't have to use it. still, i'd say it's worth a try for about a month or so. if you have frequent issues with it, go back to whatever you were using before. i found that vista was fine, even though i was skeptical at first; i planned on installing xp on here right after buying it.. but i stuck with it and realized there weren't any issues i had with it. |

ps more people join please ;( other than that, i've played lots of random ro servers, gunbound, and maple story. ...god maple story was bad. |

my high school is banned from editing pages on wikipedia because kids at school vandalize pages.
and they aren't even funny vandalizations either. they're jut random and stupid. |

i don't really get what everyone's so upset about. sony and nintendo are both video game console designers who don't want the press of games that are vile and heinous. at this point, rockstar is just making ridiculous games just for the press. just look at... say.. this whole thread! a large amount of you would have never heard of it until they made this thread. rockstar is a company, and they are after money. banning these games from their consoles is just to keep rockstar down. games already have a bad enough reputation for making gamers crazy.. and the way you guys are responding to it proves that exactly(i can't rape people in a video game now?? this is horrible!). besides, it's not like rockstar is doing anything progressive. this isn't like black rights movements of feminist movements, it's a game where you rape and murder people. |

you know what i always found funny is how people look at japan as some safe haven with a blessed culture and incredible society, then you hear the same people talk about how low and despicable 4chan is.
nevermind that the idea of it came from 2chan, THE japanese website. i've met people from all over the world online but 0 of them live in japan. some japanese people are so isolationist that they only post on 2chan, i guess. |

2ch has MANY more discussion forums than 4chan will ever half. 4chan has forums for very few specific topics... and then the random one that everyone associates it with for getting about 80% of its posts. |
