Does anyone have some general tips on editing the nice storyline text? I mean the thing they show with the blue background, white letters, classic Final Fantasy prologue theme, first thing you see when you open the ROM...

I know stuff about searching, and I've even built my own table for the game. However, the text of the prologue doesn't appear to be all together in one place.

I know Acmlm has done a hack in which he edited the text there (Final Fantasy Mario or something to that effect), so I know its possible. I'm just not sure how to go about it.

If anyone could help me, I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks in advance.

Yes, FF1. Probably should have mentioned that in that long, elaborate post I made...

It's Fire Emblem Sanctuary of Strategy. I'm a member there, but I haven't visited in ages (should do that later today, maybe...) Some members do patches on the FE series. In fact, I was going to do a patch for FE: Gaiden myself until I hit an enormous roadblock (that kept even the experienced hackers from accomplishing anything).

Hey, but I can understand your confusion. I get confused sometimes, myself.

I've been reading some documents (this one to be specific). I knew Final Fantasy used DTE, so maybe this will be a good learning experience in DTE if it does, in fact use it.

Any other suggestions before I plunge into the ROM again?

Thanks guys, I found it. I found it myself after stealing a table off of Zophar's Domain. I would have replied sooner but I was without the internet over the weekend.

Yup, it uses DTE.

And yes, you would be correct Celice.

What road block? I never had any trouble with Gaiden other than some crap pointers J2E messed up on.

The block I was referencing was this:

I would pop open the game in a hex editor, using a table that either I had obtained or created, and edit in-game text. The text would not be changed in the game. I had done several other of these operations on several other games and never had this problem. I could swear I wasn't the only one who ran into this issue, but I could be wrong, I suppose.

Got Pearl on release (on lunch break working at work). I really need to get one of those USB wireless adapters or something...

I most certainly got a Chansey and traded it for a Chimchar over Wi-Fi. I just hate having to go to McDonlad's do to that kind of stuff.

Also, I really can't wait until I meet another live human being with Diamond/Pearl. I've been playing it all lonely and I'm really in need of some wireless trading/battling.

I've heard tons of good things about this distro, actually. If I wasn't so satisfied with the Knoppix installation I have now, I'd probably check it out.

Last time I checked out Ubuntu, it was using Gnome as its window manager, which instantly caused me to switch back to Knoppix. Some time later I decided to look into Kubuntu because I like KDE so much, but I got the AMD64 edition, which didn't seem to work out so well. I don't remember anything specific, but I remember being filled with immense rage and switching back to Knoppix yet again.

!? Not sure why I ranted about that.

Maybe I'll get this for some people I know that currently are using Windows ME. With an OS like that, it shouldn't be hard to turn them over to the "dark side." Anyone know how dial-up works on here or do I have to look for myself? (I'm lazy, but I'll do it if I have to.)
