I think you should start a new thread for your project if you're going to be working on it ^^;;
Make sure those graphics you have, you have permission to use. Everything else you could need help with can go into your thread. |

From what little I helped months ago, kuja killer's hack seemed awfully apt at being entirely different from the original ;] |

Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil 4 cry at night. I wouldn't mind another FFXII-like game as long as it wasn't FF(insert roman numeral), but a separate game. |

I don't think I ever finished either, but I had rented the first when it came out: loved it. When the second came out during an August I bought it the first day. I was trying to find all the parts or something to gain Louie last I knew >.>
I liked the first more though. I thought it felt more original, not in that it was the first one or the things it explored, but in the simple use of colors. Primary colors were everywhere--I felt like the second was saturated from what it was. I did enjoy going through past levels though with a new look/areas. That's always a little quirk I've loved. |

There's other people out there too doing stuff like this, and they aren't called gods as much >.> I think 'DahrkDaiz' is now a blinking neon sign for "THIS HACK WILL BE AWESOME" and draws in all the little moth-hackers. |

I'm currently in a team-esque project and the only reason I think it hasn't nose-dived yet is 'cause of the way we're going about it. I wanted to help out, so started drawing characters for him. Then I went to graphical stuffs as he did the data as he was originally. We though about a new story, and so we threw around ideas. As it is, someone wanted to help somehow, so he'll insert the script and edit everything when we're ready.
It seems when people are picked up with motivation to do things, a team-based project works. When someone asks people to help, the interest is usually only there 'cause someone wants help. That can die out pretty quickly. |

Wisdom Tree actually made a pretty good game. Christian-Zelda based in a city. I'll just chop off that Christian and city part :o |

there's a stickied thread for questions like this, but as far as I know, no.
Did you try seeing if the text is uncompressed yourself? You don't need a full-fledged editor for a script hack. Any graphic editor can do graphics :/ |

Well there's your scripting. If you're going to be in ROM Hacking, you need to be more than a "mapper." Which any bloke can do. Learn to do more than what a program can for you. First step: find that text. |

I agree. Just the whole setting made it cool for the genre, and I still don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it since.
Such diverse locations though means more diverse scenery. I'm thinking that city is going to be come either some huge castle or fortress: the city rooftop is just begging for one of the two. |

Yeah, um, you need to stop relying on editors. They're there to simplify a tedious process, not do everything for you. You've got your script, which is arguably the hardest part of a text hack. Now all you have to do is figure out how the text is stored. Take a single day to learn the basics of text editing (not typing). You can run a basic search after that. Chances are, you'll know where the text is in a matter of minutes.
In other words, try doing work. It really feels better when you've done something, not a program. |

I was planning on redoing them, but whether they were going to be about the zelda universe or about the game's story (like Banjo-Kazooie's final board game thing) I haven't decided.
I'm going to release a couple of shots next, so I'm holding off ;] |

I like the style of it, but those grays seem to clash quite a lot--so, please do try the GameBoy's chrome colors. At least, colors similar to it. |

As long as you have patience and somewhat decent social skills (no fears) I'd say take it--it's an easy job, which means it won't stress you out--especially if jobs tend to scare you--and could be easy bonus points on later resumes. Not to mention $9/hr isn't horrible for an easy job (I'm working in the Financial Aid department filing papers and such at only $7.75/hr).
Try it out at least. |

Despite the necro; in's "unethical" (*snicker*) to be sending ROMs, quite the big no-no for actual finished hacks. Patches are the preferred way to do it.
Without reading through the thread, shouldn't taking the original ROM and expanding it to 32MB, and then taking the new hacked version and splitting the two in half, be another way to get smaller patches out of the game? It'd be slightly more complex for some people, but then you'd have patches for two separate 16MB files, rather than one 32MB one :[ |

Read the readme found with the editors, as well as search out information for the game specifically? |
