Hello, I downloaded this hack a while ago and have been having an amazing time with it. However, sometimes when I boot up SMB2J the game seemingly freezes after the famicom loading screen. I don't know if it's my emulator or the game, but i would just like to share that. I really enjoy the game otherwise thank you for making this

The game doesn't load up any error, but sometimes after cutting to black it won't show the SMB2J start screen. there is no sound when it crashes, either.

I'd say it happens about... 2 out of 5 times i boot it up.

I use Nestopia on Retroarch Android 1.2 on my Kindle Fire. it handles all nes games quite well, even the MMC5 ones. I hope this information could be of help

I have an idea for a sonic game hack. it would be Sonic 1, 2, 3, and Knuckles all in one game with a save function like Sonic 3. However, instead of Sonic knowing all of his special abilities from the start, he learns them through the course of the game. There would be small cutscenes where it shows him learning the moves, and some unlockable by by meeting certain goals, like "getting X amount of rings unlocks the light-speed dash". and when you finished the game, you would maintain the abilities when you play on that save file, so you could have the spin-dash and super peel-out in the Sonic 1 levels. There would also be Tails and Knuckles (with their own unique abilities), the option to toggle abilities on and of at will, and super-forms starting with the sonic 2 set of emeralds. I probably would never be able to make this, but anybody else is free to use this idea (maybe just put my username in the credits)

I tried Mario All Stars on FCEUmm on Retroarch and the game will freeze at the mario 1 mushroom in the intro, but won't freeze upon loading SMB2J. I also downloaded NESoid and NES.emu to better answer your question. When the game is booted up in NESoid, the graphics are all messed up, and none of the games will load. NES.emu, I believe is an android port of FCEUX, and run the game with no graphical errors, and loads up SMB2J every time, seemingly. Also, when I played it on NES.emu it had a cheering sound on the start screen that does not play in nestopia. It seems this game is quite tricky to emulate But I hope this information can help.

No need to apologize, I'm not angry or anything, and I really enjoy this game! I don't have a PC so is suppose less-than-perfect android emulation works for me. the upside is that, besides those two small problems, the games all run perfectly. The save feature is a life-saver, especially in SMB2J. just a couple requests on my part: can you fix the intro wii-shop music from going out of sync when the koopa kids start going across the screen, and when you load an SMB3 savefile and it's on the start screen, could there be an option to just play the mario bros. minigame, in single player files? anyways, thanks for making this awesome hack/port/compilation

It might just be my emulator again, but when the koopa kid that rides the ball goes on-screen, the melody and rythym get out of sync until the game goes into the game select. but I guess thats not a big deal

Edit: Would it be possible to put all 6 NES Mega Man games in a rom, with a save function like this? That would be awesome if it is possible...

I would like to see a Mega Man hack that fits all of the original six Mega Man games into one rom, with three save files for each game. The games would have small fixes to them, like Mega Man 2 and 3 could be modified so you can re-enter levels after you defeat them, and the weird slippery running physics in Mega Man 1, 2, and 3 could be fixed. I'm not sure that many games could be fit into one ROM though...

Well, a bootleg cartridge with all 6 games in 1 does exist, and I even have a ROM of it. My emulator became unable to play it after an update, which led me to post an idea for a better version of it. I even have a name for this hack: "Mega Man: The Wily Trilogy".

it would also be awesome if someone could fit Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic and Knuckles, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Knuckles in Sonic 2, Blue Sphere, Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D Blast, and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine into one ROM. You could name it "Sonic Mega Collection: Genesis Edition". that is probably more impossible than my Mega Man idea though...

Edit: I seem to like it when people fit multiple games into one

I was playing a hack called RockMan Cross-X a bit ago, a boss rush hack which had many different weapons to use, and I had the best idea for a Mega Man hack EVER. Instead of having six Mega Man games in one ROM, put all the levels into one game. All of the forty-six levels available to play from the very start, all forty-six weapons would be collectable, and the bosses would have new weaknesses added along with their original, like Time-Stopper defeating Gravity Man, or Ring Boomerang defeating Elec Man (or Metal Blade defeating everything ). Charging and sliding would be availible in the Mega Man 1 and 2 levels, and the non-weapon items like Items 1-3, the Rush abilities, Wire and Balloon from Mega Man 4, and Jet and Power forms from Mega Man 6 would be available. the Level Select and Inventory screens would be split into six screens to fit the epic amount of levels and weapons in the game, and there would be a save function. The Wily Castles would appear after all the levels were beaten, and defeating all of them beats the game. There would also be a selection in the level select after you beat all the levels to go into a Boss Gauntlet mode, where you get a few E-Tanks and have to go against all the bosses in a random order, but defeating this would give some sort of epic reward, like the ability to choose to shoot only charge-shots, a double-jump, a wall-jump, or possibly all of those at once. I thought of this a bit ago, and just HAD to post this before I forgot.

A bit off-topic, but I just realized that the level select screens in Mega Man 3-6, with Mega Man's face surrounded by the Robot Masters' faces looks kinda like the Brady Bunch

Sorry for posting here so much, I've got many ideas, but not the equipment or skills to make these a reality. Anyways, a long time ago, I saw my dad playing a flash game called Super Mario Crossover, which had Samus, Link, Mega Man, the guy from Contra (I think his name is Bill or something), and other characters in the levels of the original Super Mario Bros. At the time, I didn't know it was a fan game, and thought it was actually the original SMB with these characters added. I was wondering if it would be possible to insert these characters into SMB, abilities intact, with possibly a few extra songs specific to the characters (like Brinstar theme while using Samus, or Zelda overworld theme while using Link). It would be awesome if this was made for the NES, perhaps using the MMC5 mapper to increase the capabilities of SMB. it would be awesome to see all of these characters playable, like Kirby, Samus, or Simon Belmont, just changed to the normal Mario health system in stead of an energy or life meter. I know this isn't an idea per se, but it would be awesome to be able to play something like this on an actual NES

Glitch report! I was playing SMB3, in my first file i had an incomplete N-Spade game, and when I got an N-Spade game on my second file, it started my game from the first file, I could tell because that was my first 80,000 points on my second file, and some of the cards were already flipped over. I just wanted to put this here, so it can hopefully get fixed at some point.

To be honest, I can't make any of these things I had ideas for, because I don't have a PC. All my internet and gaming stuff is handled by my Kindle Fire, even this post. A PC is way out of my price range, so I post my ideas to possibly give somebody else with all the skills and no ideas something to work with.

Anyways, I also had an idea for two different items for NES Metroid, the charge beam and the space jump. the charge beam would make Samus fire a larger shot when charged, but she can't fire again until the charge shot is gone, and spin-jumping while charged makes Samus capable of destroying one enemy. And the space jump would allow Samus to jump infinitely, and change her somersaulting animation.

I appreciate your help Mike-Tech, but I'm 15, and my parents are against me getting a laptop, and I didn't think I would need one until I got interested in ROM-hacking. I have enough money to afford that PC, but my parents might veto me if they are against it. I also don't think they are too approving of me wanting to get into ROM-hacking. I can't get too mad, my parents want me to get a real job so I can support myself first, and I can't really sell hacks, as that would be illegal. It'll be fine though, I'll post my excess ideas here, learn about ROM-hacking, perform small hex edits on copies of Super Mario using my hex editor app, and after I move out and get a decent job and apartment, I'll get a PC and get into ROM-hacking. 5 years from now my username will be known all across the ROM-hacking community as the guy who made the best Mega Man hack ever Thank you for your concern though, I like seeing nice people on the internet, and knowing it isn't only a bunch of trolls, jerks, and spam-bots.

Also, Pac-Man Championship Edition for the NES needs to exist. There is a video of one such game on youtube, made using a heavily hacked MMC3 version of NES pac-mania, made by a guy in Japan, but there is no ROM or IPS patch of it anywhere online. It would be nice if someone could make a better version of that hack and release it.

My family already has a laptop which I school stuff on, but my parents use it a LOT, so I wouldn't be able to get time to hack ROMs on there. My parents are pretty stubborn, too, so I can't convince them to get me one.

Also, I would like to see a Third Gen Pokémon hack where every pokémon from gens 1-6 are available to be captured. I like Pokémon, but I would love it even better if I could choose from over 700 different pokemon, especially if the beginning areas had at least fifty different types of pokemon to capture so you could easily make a team of your choice.

I would like to see Super Smash Bros. for the SNES. There are several SSB fangames, but not one actual demake of it.

It would be awesome to have Mario, Ness, Kirby, Sonic, Megaman X, and other characters using their original sprites. There would be some levels from SSB, like Dream Land, Brinstar, the Mushroom Kingdom, and Onett, just to name a few. There would also be final smashes from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, like Link's Triforce Slash or Ness's PK Starstorm, as well as Pokéballs and other power-ups.

It would be interesting if this could also somehow make use of the SuperFX chip to make the level zoom out depending on how far away the characters are from each other. This would be really awesome on an actual SNES where you could play with other people too. Not sure if the SNES could handle this though...

Thanks, I also realized that the SuperFX thing might not work though because i think the sprites will always stay the same size, regardless of the level being zoomed out or not. However, it would be awesome to have a Starfox level where you fight on top of the Arwing, and the Arwing is 3-D rendered using the SuperFX, just like the original Starfox. And I thought that this could be made by possibly hacking Super Mario World or Kirby Super Star.

I also figured Kirby Super Star, because it has multi-player with the partner system, and the special moves and controls behave very similar to moves in SSB. Perhaps changing the enemies into the playable characters, reworking their moves a bit, and making it so Kirby can't make a partner out of his current ability.

Some of the Final Smashes would behave like the Crash or Mike abilities where the game pauses for a second while the character does their animation, but that wouldn't work for all of the Final Smashes.

The health system would just be changed to a percentage, and Maxim Tomatoes would be left in. Lava tiles would be programmed to behave like the KO boundaries in SSB, but they would be invisible.

It might take less work to turn Kirby Super Star into Super Smash Bros. than it would for SMW (and Kirby would already be fully in the game, copy ability and all!). I might be wrong though...

I found a topic for a SSB idea on SMWcentral, but the topic was five years old, so I guess that ain't happening.

Also, I had another idea. Mario Maker NES (or SNES). It would have the tools to make new levels in SMB or SMB3 styles, no SMB2U because that's almost not a Mario game. You could do things that don't normally happen in Mario games, like place enemies inside question boxes, or make pipes and cannons dispense power-ups, and there would be new items and enemies too. You could make different types of levels, like easy levels, kaizo levels, or boss rush levels too. you could even do something like recreate Metroid in a Mario map using pipes and such, and there would be settings where you can't lose power-ups, but you could still die from getting hit too many times. And there would be a thread on a forum where people could share their save files so you can play their levels on an emulator. This might be too advanced for an NES, but I bet an SNES could pull this off.

I had another idea for a hack, NES Remix, for the NES. The game would be just like NES Remix for the Wii-U, with all the tiny segments from the games that you can play seperately, and possibly different modes, like all-boss mode, where the game makes you fight random bosses from the games, or a random mode, like WarioWare, but with NES games. I guess that an NES wouldn't be able to pull this off though, but I feel like it would be a cool hack if it could be made, especially if you want to play a certain part of a game, or fight a certain boss, but don't really want to play the game up to that point.
