Issue: I'm using FCEUX 2.2.2 and the correct ROM (GoodTools name: Super Mario Bros. 3 (U) (PRG1) [!].nes) and the IPS is called the same.

However all I am receiving is a blank screen. I know this isn't a bad dump which is wrongly named, either.

Is this an issue with FCEUX 2.2.2 and IPS or am I doing something stupid? Here's a dump from the 6502 debugger:

If they get colour on them, I recommend it's adjusted for certain themes so that they look better.

what game is this a hack of? will there ever be a rom dump of this or your newer hacks? I just modded my wii into a tardis and would really like to play this on it . my nes is one of those crappy boot legs so it wouldn't play well on it . the carts look cool tough will def. pick on of them up .

2. No. ROM dumps are illegal, although when the next GoodNES is around, it might be included, like with GoodSNES and SMW hacks.
3. Just use a PC and FCEUX and it's fine. It's better actually, you could report bugs and things if you know how to use a debugger correctly.

True, but I know for a fact some people probably don't, and it would be good to see new hacks from board2 featured around.

To be fair I never see much posts from the staff at here (who are still active), in the rom hacking forums (or at all).

I'd like to see a proper kafuka page, it's a shame that has now gone as you say, but board2 isn't important to anyone except a few select users who still visit (and the spambots). It's a shame this site has 'died' as some people (i.e. StapleIdiot/Mega-Moron) say.

SPAM RELATED:
The spam looks like it was done by bots, and not humans (however some of it was made by people pretending to be contributors e.g. blume and golddty), we need some sort of system to kick those bots up the arse and still make registration possible. Perhaps implement the proxy protection system (like Blargboard's), and get a decent proxy protector, this will stop reregs and some spam.

Also link the board to StopForumSpam so that IPs are banned from the site if a spam bot is on the blacklist - although we'll have to report spam to the database as well, too.

FORUM LIST:
Merge the Gaming/Fraxy/Entertainment into General (no one posts in any of those anymore).
ROM hacking releases could be made specifically for tools and emulators - things like that - at the moment it's pretty ambiguous what the rom hacking and related releases are actually differ for.

Megaman could also be a subforum instead of SMW - and a tutorial forum would be good for the board too (content needs to be submitted via a PM to somebody).

Maybe also a Homebrew/Development forum for the classic consoles. It could help the board become more active as new developers write games from scratch.

There's also thousands of hidden boards, if any of those (like ones for specific games etc) could be worth opening we could merge those into ROM Hacking (if for games) or make them viewable once more. In particular the Programming forum could be merged into Technology, or both be merged into General.

STAFF:
The only people that still visit the board who are staff seem to be blackhole, ninjablooper and Xeruss, also sometimes ShaneM. Perhaps out of the currently active userbase we could have a few new staff members - I think Googie and Quick Curly would work as good staff for this site, both are interested in the site, have been around for god knows how long and are pretty active. (Somebody could also be a local mod for the hack tutorials, perhaps Mike-Tech?)

Also I guess blackhole and ninjablooper are more focusing on real life as they haven't posted much for a while.

Board2 could have a subsite (Blog2) for the latest rom hacking related news, but this is a possibility and would require a lot of dedication.

HACKS:
I don't know, but if enough interest happens maybe a collab hack could be done across the active users here? A lot of members seem to be interested in Megaman hacking and I think a board2 hack of one of those games would work really well if we tried.

All in all I really want this board to get more active while it is still around. Perhaps we could ask people to join this site or put it in our signatures using a special banner - another idea would be to remake the current banner and use it for signature links, when the new one is done.

(Disclaimer: I am not saying 'do it now, or throw yourself under a bus', and I don't want staff in any way at all, I don't need it, or want it. I just want board2 to become active again.)

Just looking at the first few levels of the demo, really nice work Quick Curly, I especially like the palette used in the first castle and the way you have to beat the first two levels.

Once I have all my ROMs on my external hard drive, I'll grab this patch and download it - looks pretty hard for me though, but I'm still rubbish at SMB3 even with savestates...

(I'll watch the rest later, I wanted to make a reply quickly and judge it)

Also: what emulator have you used to record this video? Hopefully it's FCEUX...

Anyway, I think it's funny that spammers try to post new threads when they are banned (see: aniketetrade - currently online attempting to make a new thread).

What we need to do is make a 'SPAM' forum where all the spam trash is hidden and no one can see it except admins, that way the links won't be viewable.

(and don't forget that none of these bots are even IP Banned)

If you want you can give specific games for your favourites, not just one, because what's one thing without variety on another?

I don't know myself. I like any rom hack that has had thought put into it and dedicated to, and I've played a ton of SMW hacks, I never remember the names of hacks too easily considering I have about a million in my snes goodset.
