QC: However we've had 64 new posts today, and yeah, mostly from us and the Kyocmoron, but several other people came back.

ninjablooper: Don't blame me, I've only been here 17 days now! Happy Sunday to board2.

Yeah, I'm also curious what causes people to join now. Where exactly did you hear about board2?

I think the surge of activity over the past week or so is causing this. When a board is active more people join usually. Also, I put the board's link on Kafuka a day before I was banned.

Can we save in .IPS form? I haven't read the original part and also I cannot be arsed to wade through about 20 pages of discussion.

The tool sounds cool. And even better that it has Linux support since we shouldn't not support the Debian Project.

(yeah, I am using XP but I don't know how to install Debian, without a USB drive or CD)

I would assume the board would either be unviewable or deleted for inactivity.

Also why would Google cache something so old? It's old AND obsolete (unlike the Terminator)

Minecraft is only a shit-overrated game because it became popular with children, and they bitch about the stupid thing.

OK, it's decent, but not that good. I compared it with a depressant or a sleeping pill, to be fair.

------------------------
A game that is underrated surely is the European/American SMB2. Just because it's different to other games of series, and is a blatant edit of another platformer, I don't give a shit.

EE doesn't let you create patches. You can do it with other tools once you're done modifying your game.

PS: EE 2.8 will probably be released next weekend.

Are you thinking of adding it to EE? It would make hacking easier for newbies and encourage people to stop posting stupid ROMs to things.

(and I made that post also to see if you'd reply or not, lol, not just to ask the question)

Oh, I didn't know if you were going like Lunar Magic and doing most possible thing.

"Stupid ROMs to stuff" - I mean, people posting ROMs here when really they shouldn't. It's another of my stupid references and insulting of banned users (however much they deserve it).

I meant you hadn't posted for a few days, or such, but had visited Board 2 nearly every day.

I'm only familiar with the .ips format, sorry for general stupidity.

Everyone should know FCEUX. It's the greatest FC/NES emulator of all time, even you know that.

Same goes for snes9x if you need a blend of speed and decent accuracy.

since when the fuck is liking board2 illegal
putting a signature for board2 link in other forums isn't classed as 'driving people away'
what the fuck are you implying anyway
and how do you mean

just because I'm doing SMW levels doesn't mean I have to post them at smwc, any other general hacking site will do

and DCI Mike-Tech, come and take me to the police station, or did you forget the handcuffs

stop being a useless piece of shit and telling people what to do around here, just because blackhole89 isn't always around

derpo and YouKnowWho (StapleButter) are right about you being a waste of life

Finally, the point has been made.

1: No it isn't really, I understand. Mike-Tech has pretty low reasons to say that, since he barely knows me here. I have reasons which are also quite stupid though.

2: Yes, it has indeed derailed to hell, I'm surprised no one has properly sorted this out, lol.

3: Correct. I've been there over a year but only started properly visiting it recently, so yep.

4: Agreed. Look at my ask thread, the git wanted me banned here because of other-board activities (a.k.a. being framed on Kafuka but deemed guilty). And that word's just a friendly insult in this country.

5: Correct! OK, I've registered to practically every single AcmlmBoard/ABXD forum and mostly am active, but having a link in your signature, for example, doesn't mean everyone abandon ship for board2. Although maybe Mike-Tech is referring to me constantly referring to the board in some other sites, perhaps there's a point.

6: Yes. Everyone has done something stupid on a board but there's no need to carry that around with you for the rest of your forum life, everywhere.

7: Again, another point for this thread. I'm also getting annoyed of this, and I have a thing about replying to make my point which usually ends up in a Big Argument. Also Mike-Tech stopped logging in ages ago, so PMs wouldn't work. I might actually ask ninjablooper to close this thread because the derailing is getting too high.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
ON-TOPIC:

Thanks. I've been practising with this a while. I don't think I'll be making any new levels for a little bit, seeing as I need to concentrate on other stuff also, but yeah - time (usually) = experience, of course. I've seen good hacks and bad hacks - the bad ones are usually a newbie's first hack which is simple. Although these simple hacks might be considered bad, they can teach you from your mistakes what and what not to do in future.
I regularly visit SMW Central to find tutorials if I forget something, because I prefer text tutorials over video tutorials (which assume you know too much or too little, and have been following it, and tend to take too long to get to where you're stuck at). Look at my first proper level on YouTube and compare it to the third level, there's some improvement (despite only having a few days between their making) because I've looked around and learnt how the tool work.

Unfortunately I don't. On my Kindle I've read a few of Charles Dickens' short stories and over halfway through Barnaby Rudge (which is a rather good story, especially of the first half).

It seems the activity is welcoming, we had 74 posts yesterday alone.

Well. I've watched some British shows mainly such as Only Fools and Life on Mars. And some American shows too.

And my favourite film is Terminator 2. Sometimes I watch films not often though, I prefer TV Series.

That wouldn't be a bad idea. In fact, that would be great.

But it'd have to be a new game, I don't think we could hack an existing one and turn it into Super Super Smash Bros.

OK! I don't see how it could be done on SMW without serious code rewriting so it all works, but what's not possible on ROM Hacking?

I think it should be done. I wish you had a computer so you could do that hack or such, but it's annoying you can't, right?

No.

AcmlmBoards are supposed to be easy to register on.

If we started implementing retarded restrictions less proper people would register.

I think an extra hidden field you fill text in will work for the bots (not the human spammers) since the bots will fill the box with things while humans won't see it, that way blocking registrations.

Also do what SMS Realm did and implement some kind of proxy protection into the registration and login pages.

Human spammers would realise it doesn't work when fake emails are blocked, and then sign up for a proper service like AOL or Yahoo.

About that - I mean, this board has no reason to force email. The only reason to use it is if you want to make it public in your profile.

The problem with account activation is that there will be a ton of real users that never post because they can't activate. Also there would have to be drastic code changes to the software to achieve the activation to fully work.

Perhaps instead of email activation, you have to send a private message to an administrator. Since the only spammers that seem to use PMs are kitchen spammers who figure that they can't post yet, but they never say anything else except their shite-arsed kitchens.

People like acmlmboard's simplicity so I think it should be left that way, but some kind of protection should be made (like blocking URLs made if the member has been registered for under 12 hours, since bots are too stupid to know how to change their tactics), and it also means new users can share their hacks after only 12 hours. Keep it simple so the board doesn't turn into phpBB, which I hate more than kitchen spam (unless said spam is on a board I hate).

Shove your account activation up your arse. I don't like the shitty procedure, even if it does stop spam, it also stops more real users from posting or using the site, especially if they don't want to share their email address.

That procedure with the hidden field has been confirmed to work on a few blogs and forums, but it's not used much. Here: http://www.sitepoint.com/easy-spam-prevention-using-hidden-form-fields/

Also this is cyberdyne's 100th post in 18 days

Only a total fuckwit/moron could hate Blargboard (the software itself).

It feels like ABXD but a bit more modern and more secure, too. Even if it is partially ABXD, it is still somewhat original and gives a bigger interest boost in Acmlm softwares.

(also, why does this thread have broken statistics, did a few spammers go on this thread)

I think this is probably due to the PHP change that made its AES functions stop being capable of dealing with keys that are not 16 characters in length (perhaps because it stopped doing key expansion, or it actually never did?). I'll look into it in a bit.

Thanks.

I think it works at Kafuka, but that version of Acmlm is more up-to-date with PHP.
