Posted by MathUser2929 "All that is needed to make this improved version to be perfect is better music, which nesrocks doesnt know how to do" Just wondering MathUser if you could and are willing to help in this area. Gotta agree with your post, people have tried to improve SMB1 but not as good or dedicated as this. I don't know how long nesrocks has been in rom hacking but his improvements look amazing Also nesrocks, nice website ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

You should try to make this project into a full-blown Megaman homebrew one day if you get the time and can work on it.
Good job! ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

@Quick Curly: Is this layout okay?
While it uses the same thing of plastering a background image, it's instead a smaller image tiled (and a PNG so transparent background), I also didn't make it fixed (doesn't scroll) should be less invasive I don't know how to improve a few assets on it though because I want to make quotes appear darker box than the normal text. (Actually I just changed the opacity from 0.33 to 0.69 and it looks a lot better) ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

It's funny because it was quite active here up until about a couple months back anyone remember when we had like 79 posts in a few hours (mostly me, Mike and Quick) and 8 users online?
Was back in November 2015. This site was getting better for months then it dropped again for some reason. I'm trying to be here more of what I have left of school summer holidays, though. I think if I can get some active ROM hackers to check Board 2 then I will help with that, maybe I'll mention it to people on my site as well as other places. Though several people here are on my site a lot of them are inactive. Quick your point about drawing the wrong people in is so right. Look at GBATemp for instance, they are a horrible community mostly interested in PIRACY + FREE GAMEZ. Not to mention their users are mostly perverted teenagers. Here, most active users are adults and experienced, and want to have fun and talk about ROM hacks amd such. not even going to talk about what RVLution became Yeah. I'm literally only here to see ROM hack stuff and talk to the community, not any other reason, and that community is brilliant and dedicated. I might try to spark more discussion later about the other subjects like Entertainment or Gaming As well as some general chat threads. The staff situation is cool. I just think when people see a long ago last view they assume they don't care. It might help if they could check the site every now and again, in particular I miss ninjablooper, he helped quite a lot and he seems to be a pretty nice guy. Kafuka never really done it for me. Neither does Jul, hence why my last alt account hasn't been there for about a week. It lacks something about it that this board has. Probably, the post quality and such. People post some really good stuff here neither of those boards are as good, people on here seem more welcoming too. MathUser: My board (runs on AcmlmBoard XD) does the same thing, you can also use certain div classes linked to your user ID like .mainbar1 div.quote to more easily edit other things like quotes and code. It's a lot more flexible than the one here IMO. It's a feature only in AcmlmBoards, which to me seriously feels like it helps you express your posts and personality better (even though my layout here is taken from a template and slightly edited) ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

I'm going to play SMA4 using GBA4iOS 2.1 on iOS 10 Beta 4, the emulator isn't revoked anymore ()
After watching this video it's challenged my old view of SMB3. Plus I haven't played a Nintendo game in so long 500th post, by the way. ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

Nintendo
Super Nintendo GameCube Wii Game Boy Advance SP DS Sony PlayStation (PSOne) PlayStation 2 (Slim) PlayStation 3 (500GB Super Slim) I want to buy a Dreamcast and a Mega Drive one day too, some awesome kick-ass games for both. Yushe: Fucking true man, Microsoft killed Rareware the second they bought them. Hopefully Yooka-Laylee will retain the legacy of Banjo-Kazooie. Rare pretty much proved the technical impressions of an N64 and strained the thing to further than the limit, with CBFD, BK and DK64. Same for the SNES and their pre-rendered graphics along with masterpiece audio. DKC music is almost CD quality as a matter of fact and that is impressive as hell for the SPC700, one badly utilised sound chip. ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

You are not dreaming, it's really real and nobody expect that happened. Nintendo announced the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition (Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System in Europe) today as a surprise. This small console includes the console itself (which is a replica of the original NES console) with HDMI output so you can play it on your big TV, an controller (which is also a replica of the original controller) that can also been use for the Wii and Wii U and 30 games including Super Mario Bros., Kirby's Adventure, Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong and Pac-Man. Here is the full list of the 30 games Balloon Fight BUBBLE BOBBLE Castlevania Castlevania II: Simon's Quest Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Jr. DOUBLE DRAGON II: THE REVENGE Dr. Mario Excitebike FINAL FANTASY Galaga GHOSTS 'N GOBLINS GRADIUS Ice Climber Kid Icarus Kirby's Adventure Mario Bros. MEGA MAN 2 Metroid NINJA GAIDEN PAC-MAN Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream StarTropics SUPER C Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario Bros. 3 TECMO BOWL The Legend of Zelda Zelda II: The Adventure of Link The console will be released in both North America and Europe on November 11th for 60$. The controller will also be sold separatly for 9.99$. The North American version will have an AC adapter, while the European version (including UK) won't have one, but there is a USB port in the box. http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/07/nintendo_entertainment_system_nes_classic_edition_coming_this_november_ships_with_30_games Personally I think this is a good sales move but 30 games? You're kidding me. The entire GoodNES 3.23b set is something like 500MB, that could easily fit on modern hardware. Also, I can't understand why Nintendo refuse to sell the adaptor in Europe, is it some kind of legislation/legal or other issue? They don't sell 3DS with chargers anymore in Europe either... Also, loads of games are missing that were well received. CONTRA, Duck Hunt, RC Pro AM, other Mega Man and Final Fantasy games, Balloon Fight, Metal Gear... and they're also not offering extra services to get more games. (For RCPAM they probably would be refused rights though.) Contra being missing is also a big letdown. Great idea, poorly executed in my opinion. It's basically a VC machine. Probably the versions will use latest revisions of region specific games, sadly this means SMB1 music will also still run at double speed in EU regions, for instance. http://rhcafe.us.to/?page=t&id=192 original thread ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

I'm already getting hyped for this! Also, your decision about the source disclosure makes sense, though you could still release the full game and make the engine open source (but not the game itself), if that makes sense.
Make good use of those three days too. ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

Posted by Googie My face when the troll face came on looked like the troll face itself. I died laughing when I heard "problem, officer?" Also I don't really watch any content creator comedy because it is rather crapo these days. That was short but I really liked it anyway, it just worked and fit the meme. ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

I don't mind small updates. It shows you're actively working to fix bugs quickly.
What way would that be, exactly? Never played SMRPG since I'm from Europe, and it wasn't released here for whatever reason. That final boss theme sounds good by the way, you kept it simple too which is nice, don't want to be distracted at the last point. ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

Posted by Popo It needs a lot of work. I don't know much CSS, this layout here is pretty much copied from a template at Kuribo64. (If StapleButter sees this: there's little point IP banning me from simply viewing the board. If you want the IP range my IPs tend to be in, email me and I'll send it to you, but just put it on the register page - I still want to view some of the content on there.) Nothing fancy, but I'm not really a fancy person, to be honest. I don't know for instance how to apply different styling to the quotes or other div elements, might ask blackhole89 for any help on that. For me the post layout is supposed to express you as a person throughout your posts and enhance it. I did get the background to not break at the bottom for my old one, but not anymore, I think because it was fixed it would scroll with the top and therefore it looked like it was the same. Also this layout guide is old and really bad as I already stated. It dates back to when I was still unbanned on Jul, as a matter of fact, which was just over a year ago from today, I believe. Not sure if you can block layouts on here, but feel free to do so if it works for you. Also Popo, I have a question, why haven't you posted for 7 years and then suddenly came back, wit a rather different post style? Just curious to know, I'm not assuming you were hacked, because I've seen you log in multiple times in the past. Good to know you're keeping the general chat forum active with the "feet" thread. Just changed the colour to white it should be more readable now. ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

Posted by cderp4 What firmware version do you have? Also, for iOS users: GBA4iOS 2.1 has been signed since 1st August 2016. You do not need a date trick to use it, and I have tested it on iOS 10 beta 4 on an iPhone 5c and it works as it should. Unfortunately I can't seem to install Snes4iOS even with trying the date trick, it stops initiating the installation if I put the date back, and throws an error any other time. Also, Emu4iOS has been down for several months now, it is safe to assume the site doesn't exist anymore. ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

Welp hello.
Just a project or such: To try to get new registrations and interest in the forums I have set up an unofficial Facebook page. Content will mostly be the community creations (threads, screenshots, videos etc) I really want this place to get better, like it was a few months ago. Plus it will be a good way to keep up with the site in general. It already has a disclaimer stating the page is unofficial, I'm still not sure if I should go ahead with it fully yet. If blackhole has Facebook, and if he is willing to I'll make him a secondary administrator of the page. Since I don't know how many of you have Facebook I'm not sure whether to also make a group for the members here, but if enough people agree I'll get one started. P.S. I do this for my own time not to feel important or anything, this site means a lot to me and because I don't contribute in making ROM hacks I want to contribute something to this site. Also I'm not promoting it here because I'm not putting a link, but just letting people aware of it in case staff aren't aware. Also the reason I'm starting to be active more here is so Board 2 gets more activity and interest, maybe older users will return. I considered Quick's words in that thread and I think a Facebook page will work. There might be more noobs but Facebook is lately being branded as an "oldies network" by teenagers, so there will technically be less kids here as well. TBH the only active people under 18 are me and cderp4 here I think. ____________________ Jamie Dignam |

Posted by blackhole89 Okay, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the PM warning too. As for the I1 archive: I saw Acmlm was last here 147 days ago, so around February was his last login here, it's possible he might stop again some time. I might PM him later for the I1 archive and ask whether he'd be willing to host it here or not, then our problems are solved in the first posts. If he doesn't have it anymore then I'll respond back if he does reply. Speaking of which, I wonder if Emuz or Xkeeper have a private copy of them. ____________________ Jamie Dignam |
