Reinstall the editor, if that doesn't work it must be something to do with the rom.

I tried that already, didn't work.

I'm trying to take out the sprite 0 from the unused level 5 (using the Europe ROM) so I can play them.

I couldn't think of anything that would be short and it is something really stupid so it deserves that word.

Also yeah I have been an idiot there. I nearly puked at my old posts when reading them.

Yep.

The little things matter in a hack, it's not just the level design but what you do with the game and take it into a different direction with custom things.

The current version could be considered a PRG2 seeing what changes have been made so far.

It's because of those spammers who get nuked and then their posts deleted from long ago.

Now they resort to making new threads instead

I wasn't going into one completely, though, although I am definitely against repro carts and making money off ROM hacks, I did mention about the usual good quality visuals, and that I said not to get the FBI involved.

It's not like "oh we're still making thousands of money on this game lets go apeshit at peopple who try to sell it as a rom hack", so really it doesn't apply.

I disagree with what I said in my last post here, now, even though I don't like repro carts as such, ESPECIALLY because somebody could just dump the ROM and share it elsewhere, which would kinda defeat the point, although no NES emu is cycle accurate...

Thanks for giving a download, means no one'll moan at ya again

I'm still impressed by what you can do with graphical changes, judging by your screenshots. You should work on homebrew as well as ROM hacks for the NES.

Sorry for the bitching on your last ROM hack thread, though At least you bother to provide screenshots as proof what you do, unlike actual advertisers and scammers.

It's only possible to catch them if they're logging in or posting without being logged in.

It should be limited to locals only that can see IPs on that page.

(Also, today - 7-11-15 - Acmlm has been offline for 1300 days exactly. How sad.)

If Trinitronity does report pacnsacdave to the FBI, let's just cross our fingers they don't also try to take this board down.

I wish this could be sorted by now, all it is is an argument.

Where can I contact Infidelity?

I don't know, he hasn't been here for over a month and he hasn't been on RHDN since August 10th.

He'll probably return here more likely though some time, just keep waiting.

Okay, question:
Any chance of ever including an updated MMC5 version the NES Super Mario World, or do you not have enough ROM space for that anymore?

Also, is Super Mario Bros 3 (USA) (Rev A) the same thing like Super Mario Bros 3 (U) (PRG1)?

For the second part: yes.

No-Intro uses Rev A and GoodSets use PRG1 for the same ROM.

But I don't think you can copyright code.

yeah, sure

go leak Windows' source code and then tell that to the judge

if I was judge of that, I'd say "windows 8 is too shitty to be copyrightable".
and hakarl is right, someone got done for leaking part of 2K's source once...

Is there any good reason to get windows 10?

atm I would rather move to linux then stay with windows.

Move to Linux.

Wine is a pain in the arse and some things don't work in it but whatever, quite a few indie devs do develop for Linux (and it's less system resource hungry I think) so I suggest so.

Ubuntu is based off Debian, the former is better for Linux newbies and the latter is better for more experienced people, or ones that want to run their own server in particular.

Perhaps you should start a page about getting people to develop more software for linux or something, and to support it, if you like it.

Me would be a good idea, especially considering it was the first one to have several features now seen (read: System Restore) and also would need fixing.

Especially making it more stable it would be a good followup to 98 SE instead of what it ended up as...

With all due respect, how soon before the hacking starts?
Not to mention, it seems kind of ignorant that Quick's attempt to offer suggestions was straight up ignored.
Kickle Cubicle might be an obscure game, and might not be for everyone, but it would be a great game to hack.
People say there are way too many SMW hacks. Though there are a lot of Megaman hacks.

I dunno when the hacking starts because we don't have a clear know what game we are doing, I'm just the bloke who suggested we should do one

Of course, what you say, we should hack something more obscure, perhaps. It does mean we'd have to develop tools and things but this could bring activity to the site - and there are lot of SMW/MM hacks around, but we have to reflect what the users think to do.

Also, where are we testing this? I'm referring to emulators - if we're doing a SNES hack I'd preferably test it in higan first and then Snes9x - basically, testing it on the one with most accuracy and then on the most popular one generally used.

Still, the score is 7-0 right now, but the only thing is no moderator has mentioned in this post, so it might not be considered official even if we do get it going.

Hi also - how did you find board2?

(that's the best example of returning to a board in the world)

I'm reading on Touhou and it seems somewhat interesting, I hope for a revival of fraxy here though, because I'm lazy right now

What's wrong with Windows?

I've seen Windows 10 and we use 8.1 at school, I'd throw 'em under a bus if I could, the pair are bad OS's.

8.1 is based off Vista (NT 6) but Vista's a GOOD OS (as is Win7, but I prefer Vista), 8 isn't.

I don't even know how to hack N64 games, let alone create homebrews.

so lets go back to the drawing board, we could go with quicks idea.
Also if I'm not mistaken he already has it going so far.

Yes

I also go for Quick's idea, then, after reading the post

-----
also there should be a forum for homebrews one day if there's enough demand

Welcome Skiaak to board2!

(please post better quality, upping your postcount and making random forum games isn't a good idea)

I haven't heard this one before, could you provide a few more details?
