That does work good. I'll add it to the OP.

You might find that when you revisit stages, the enemies specific to that stage will die in one hit from the weapon of that robot master. For example the giant dogs in Woodman's stage will instantly die from the leaf shield. I believe this is the same sort of oversight that lets you one-shot the giant fish in the Wily stages with Quick Boomerang. The damage values were never set properly, perhaps because they knew it wouldn't be possible to revisit stages anyway.

This was already discovered in the Megaman Legends collection, butnow its cconfirmed to have been in the original, too. And Wily 2 isn't connected to Quick Man's stage.

You'd have to assign the right pointers, allocate some stage data, and the TSA blocks.

On other news...

Took me a half hour to do, MM5 hack. What do you guys think? I'm aiming for a cyberspace kind of feel.

I like this it's cool...

Thanks!

Edit: ignore the fact that the back is purple. I put a Napalm Man PAL animator in the stage and I was too lazy to move it.

I recolored him based off a screenshot from a fangame. I kind of like the shade, but if you guys don't that's not a problem. I think it looks nice.

Cool it down, guys! I'm not a MM5 hacking expert! :p

I've played X5 many times. I'll see what I can do palette wise. Also I'm trying to be cheap with my palette colors, for an effect planned later.

also, I'm using MegaFLE, and I think I screwed up the screen scrolling thingy. I have 3 drop screens set up (so far), an when I drop down thesecond ione, it plops me back a screen before all the drop downs start, and it will only let me go left, in a contuinous scroll. And does anyone know how to take advantage of multiple paths? As well as the music data offsets? It isn't in the ROM map over at Data Crystal.

i never finished that text editor for megafle years ago because...i had no idea how to make text editable with it. all the times i tried would majorly corrupt the rom really bad...so i left it un-finished and never bothered with it again, so it's basically just only a text "viewer".

It's completely useless to be honest.

Also, so you apparently used a europe rom acording to zeildak ? yea sorry i dont know anything about the europe rom, i never even had any "thought" of that at any time during mm3 improvement. And im not interested/dont care either. sorry.

Only US, and japan rom's. im not redoing mm3 improvement for a europe rom, sorry

Any chance you have the source code for MegaFLE? Depending on what language is in, I can take a look at it.

I was actually looking to update its [I}DOS counterpart, considering how I'm stuck to an android phone and I have no way of launching MegaFLE X or Visual Basic 6, but I can write code though.

Withvthat said, time for me to actually play this thing.

uhhhh, no one ever uses DOS, that'd be a waste of time in my opinion, and the DOS one's been abaonded for like 8 years or so, it's majorly out of date. like version 0.41 or something.

it's not worth the time at all...

I'm asking for learning purposes, and I use the dos version using dosbox turbo until I can get a PC(for the time being).

Now, on another note, wherw can I download this Togetic ips patch? Has it been taken down or did I not look well enough?

EDIT: Wait... Its not an IPS patch yet? :-( Shame, considering how interesting this looks.

Once again. Would Anybody happen to know how to hack Mega Man 5's music? Like, the offsets for each song? Thanks in advance.

What if multiple banners were uploaded and then we would let the user pick which one he wants via the user control panel? Is that a bad idea?

Hello, board2. I have a qquestion regarding mega man 5 and asm coding, two actually.

The first being
1. Does anybody at all know the musical offsets or happen to have a disassembly of it? Preferably a disassemy that looks like Bisqwits MM2 disassembly, but I'll take anything

2. What free space, if any, do I have to add things in via ASM? Is there enough for, say, a new enemy or two?

Also, unrelated but it also has to do with Mega Man.

3. If I were to add a song in MM2 via ASM (new data, not replacing anything), would I have to replace some pointers?

That is all for now, thanks for reading! :-)

If this project ever dies, I won't let it. Too much good work to give up now.

Nice progress, BTW.

A question about Mega Man's sprites - is the black outline around Rock necessary? I've been playing with Zynk's Roll-Chan graphic hack and I recall his main issue was that he couldn't make Roll's headband green. Considering how Rock's original palette is 0F 0F 2C 11 (I think), and the fact that the second 0F is used for the outline, could I change the sprites to NOT be outlined, and then change the headband to black, then recolor it? Or would that affect the eyes as well? It would look a tad odd at times, but I was wondering if it could be safely changed.

I have to admit, I kind of miss the old one. Though I never knew you founded Kingdom Hearts Insider, that's cool.

So its safe to replace? Or do I risk Rock's/Roll's eyes being green?
