It's cut out from my desktop wallpaper, which I found on Google. I made it ~35% translucent overtop of a blue gradient, and applied a film grain to the gradient layer to give it a nice texture.

[edit] Holy shit this thread is popular. A post while typing the first few words, and 2 more while doing the rest.

I turn mine off at night unless I'm using it as an alarm clock or falling asleep to music or falling asleep partway through Card Captor Sakura. (Yet to happen but... ) If I'm in the middle of something I use hibernate, which rocks.

-Space Station: Silicon Valley. Was this game tested at all? Did they even run it once before compiling it and sending it off for manufacturing? So many bugs... There's tiny fragments of source code and developer comments in RAM too.
...
No, Nintendo uses the word "hack" often in their source code. Don't ask how I know this.
Was SSSV made by Nintendo? Do I win a cookie?
It was made by DMA, which from what I hear, renamed to Rockstar. Surprise? It was for the N64 though.

That's a damn shame. Being hit by a car has to be one of the worst ways to go.

I could make a Zelda joke here, but... no.

Wow, how incredibly dumb.

Xbox Live example: My ID is the same as my username.

Wii example: My numbers are 4865874358 for the Wii itself and 9689437843 for Mario Kart and 7465874365743 for Pokemon and 7864745745 for Star Fox and hey there's enough numbers here to fill a floppy disk.

Seriously, Xbox Live is fucking awesome. No, scratch that, Xbox 360 in general is fucking awesome, but I'll focus on Live here. Voice chat, text messaging, buddy lists with in-game notification when they sign on, you can see what everyone's doing (it will actually say the game's name or "Watching a movie" or whatever). With Nintendo it's like "ooh, they have the Internet on computers now!" like WTF.

750. When my cordless phone rings and makes me lose connection with my wireless router.

761. Spending $300 on a bunch of new cordless phones because the old ones were interfering with the wireless router. (That wasn't me, but it must be hella annoying. )
762. The new phones not solving the problem, meaning your dad still comes down every half hour to complain that Xbox Live isn't working correctly, but refuses to run a cable.
763. Accidentally pressing Ctrl+Home instead of Shift+Home, Ctrl+C instead of Ctrl+V, etc. Whoever decided Ctrl+V should be Paste needs to be hurt.
764. Constipation.
765. Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag.
766. Gaim not telling me when I receive a message.

Also if you have the right kind of stereo, not even sure how this works BTW. But my stereo is capable of pulling CB radio signals out of the air when it is off. Yes, you read that right, when it is off. The longest range I've heard so far was 5 miles.
Radio is weird. I've had strange things pick up radio stations, such as the innards of a tape player while turned off. My dad's old car stereo could pick up some TV stations' audio too.

Not many people know how to type extended characters like é or that you can use ue in place of ü, though.

This may well be two separate problems. One, your drive dying causing the refusal to read discs. (I've had a number of CD-ROM drives die and the first sign was always read failures.) Two, stupid Windows bugs/weirdness that causes it to just access drives randomly. It likes to access my floppy drive whenever I open a directory with a lot of files in it.

Kailieann, have you considered doing it in the shower or something? No mess to worry about, you can already be laying down so there's no big deal if you pass out (and you should wake up once the hot water runs out ), etc.

Me, I do get the full-body convulsions and trembling before and after the fact, but only for the really good make-a-mess-of-the-general-area ones. In those cases I can pull off a second if I keep at it long enough, but it can take as much as 20 minutes and generally isn't worth it. If I want to, I can delay it by as much as several hours, though this tends to degrade the overall quality when it finally does happen (not to mention, I regret it the next morning ). I can't precisely time it though; I can ensure it doesn't happen until I want it to, but I can't make it happen as soon as I decide I do want it to. If that makes any sense.

I see no fish in blackhole or Kawa's avatars. I couldn't decide between "I want to put a fish on mine too" and "I refuse to vandalize this perfect face", so I threw it in my title instead.

And if anyone wants every last detail... I found the image looking for .Hack wallpapers on Google. She is Rena from .Hack\\Dusk, though (much to my dismay) this is very different from how she looks in the animé itself. (She looks like a little kid there. ) The wallpaper is made by someone named "GreYmon", according to the logo in the corner. I later discovered the wallpaper took her out of a gigantic low-quality scan of... something, scaled her down, and recoloured because the scan is pretty lousy. That's all I know about this image, go away now.

Nah, just has either bad drivers or Windows ME.

The computer at work has some sort of PSU problem. When turned on it will sit there for about 20 minutes, powering off and on every second or so. Their solution is to not turn it off () but some idiots do anyway ( again). Weird thing is it's more common on cold mornings, I suspect frost builds up in it or something.

theclaw, that reminds me of the PSX port of Chrono Trigger.

1) It high-level emulates a SNES ROM. (I suppose this was easier than porting a game that was probably written entirely in Assembly.) But rather than use the English ROM for the English version, they use the Japanese ROM and hack all text code to load English strings and fonts from external files.

2) The manual indicates that the programmers were too lazy to change any dialogue. There is a table that says like "If the game tells you to press Y, press Square". But they eventually did change it, because in the game, it actually shows the PSX buttons instead of the SNES ones.
