Sell them. You might get $20 each at a yard sale.

Sure you can find wireless routers for $40, but can you find one at my local Circuit City, Future Shop, Walmart, or Zellers for that price?

Convenience: With a USB stick I can use it as a normal wifi adaptor if I find the need, and more importantly, it's small and requires no external power. This means I can plug it and a memory card (for the driver) into the computer at work and use it to listen to Internet radio stations on my DS. (I already tried USB speakers, couldn't find any.) I could stick a router in there as I have physical access to the existing ones, but this is going to be much more difficult and would probably get me in a load of shit if they saw me do it. Also, no router is going to fit in my pocket, especially with the power supply.

My options are as follows:
-Use a USB wifi adapter
-Use a router and pray I don't get fired when they see me fucking with their network cables
-Crack the WEP key on the wireless access point they have but never use (and I'm almost positive cracking WEP in any sane amount of time requires a lot of traffic), or get into the router config and change it (which will break things if it turns out they do use it, and requires another method to get in in the first place)
-Buy a portable stereo that can connect to a wired network to do the same job (maybe they exist, but finding one? ha!)

So there you go. Only the first option is feasible. Nintendo's DS wifi stick uses the exact same chipset as this one, so I know it's possible.

herself - As I said, bad grammer. Stop pointing it out.
It's the idea of females on ||board that's funny.

My first encounter with a real forum was ||board - It may not be very good, but it's still a forum.
Here, it's calling ||board a "real forum".

my I.Q. Is around 150 - so? Whats your point? It's true.
And in this case, it's the idea that your IQ is that high and yet your posts don't make it blatantly obvious. If your IQ were 150 I have a hard time believing you wouldn't write in a manner that makes you seem pretty damn smart.

Hm, nice ideas there.

Make a puzzle be solved by the use of a cheat code... I mean, you are on a stage, completely stuck (trapped in a room with no exit) And there's this message box that says "700801FF" or something like that. you imput that as a code and the wall opens or something.
Use a code that modifies the Map16 data in RAM. I can't see much use for this though - it restricts the game to being played on an emulator that supports cheats, it's not a glitch so it wouldn't have a place in a glitch hack, and it's not difficult so it wouldn't have a place in a ridiculously hard hack. Maybe you could use it to get to a secret exit.

An extremely annoying puzzle consisting of a room filled of many same colored and extremely small things. And one that looks exactly the same except it is of a almost not noticeable different color or has a diferent pixel. The player has to bring the correct one through the entire level, if it fails, it has to go back and find it.
Reading this gave me a similar idea, and it's something a lot of crappy hacks actually do, but doing it intentionally would be better: make the FG and BG look very similar, and put in a fair number of bottomless pits. Crap hacks tend to look like the FG is the BG and vice-versa; in this case, you just wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

A level like that planet in kirby superstar, where you were in the 4 seasons.
See also: Click-Clock Wood in Banjo-Kazooie, Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, Animal Crossing, probably others. Could be good sources of ideas.

then the door leads you to a vertical level with some asm hack that makes you go to the other side of the screen (like in smb2) and a long gradient slope)
Why an ASM hack? Just copy the room, flipped horizontally, to another level.

Veicles. Mario gets fixed relatively to it until whaveter button is pressed. While mario is fixed, movimg in a direction moves the vehicle, in some jumps, and in some shoots stuff. This could be used to make surfing levels, the plane and submarine of sml, a tank... Hovever Mario won't be able to take them out of the stage, for ovbious reasons...
I implemented a crude space ship once. The ship is on one layer, and the level and simple fake background on the other layer. Mario starts inside the ship, standing on top of a custom block, and is surrounded by solid blocks to keep him from escaping. The block did all the spaceship stuff:
  • If Up/Down is pressed, move the ship layer up or down.
  • If the ship layer is too high or low, kill Mario (you crash into the ceiling or floor - how else to stop players from flying out of the level?)
  • If Y is pressed, generate a fireball in front of the ship.
  • Clear the A/B pressed flags, so Mario can't try to jump (the noise and movement of Mario's head would be odd)

There were problems, though. Mainly, my method didn't allow for sprites (you stay on screen 0 and the background layer scrolls by, with teleport blocks at the end to warp you to the next room), and gave you only 16 screens which at that speed is far too little. There were also technical problems - fireballs didn't work, Mario was still able to jump, I couldn't make the ship explode (you hit a wall and Mario just dies ) I might be able to solve some of these if I just tried it again, better this time, but the 16-screen problem is a big one.

However, re-reading the idea as you described it made me think of something. Now we have custom sprites. You could make the vehicle a sprite, similar to Lakitu's cloud. Seems much easier, you can use whatever level mode, and Mario could get out of the vehicle. However, sprites generally have to be small, so proportion could be a bit of a problem. (Shouldn't a space ship be much bigger than Mario? A car might fit...)

Breath: Some sort of timer that is always at 100, and starts going down when mario is touching a custom water block that would be placed below normal water. getting out of water will quicky (but not instantly) refill the timer.
Not hard to do. The hardest part would be displaying the meter on-screen. Otherwise you could do it with custom blocks alone (though it's not necessarily the best way, it's probably the easiest). An invisible block at the start of the level, and above all water, resets the counter to 100 and sets a flag to hide the air meter. You use the normal water top (so Mario can still breathe when his head's above water, and standing in shallow water doesn't kill you), and a custom block below that which acts like water but counts down the timer slowly (if I did it right, 1 unit every 18 frames would make a value of 100 give you ~30 seconds - use a second counter for the 18 frames) and kills you if it hits zero. The only real flaw to this is if you dive in, your air goes down, then if you come back up to the surface but don't jump out, it stays where it is. You could argue Mario is able to breathe, but swimming is hard work (he's not in very good shape) so it takes a lot of breath to do, so it evens out. You'd probably need one block below the surface to be the normal water block too.

A more difficult, but better way might be to hack block #0x25, the "blank" tile, to do the refill-and-hide-air stuff. Then you wouldn't have to place them above the water and at the beginning, it'd be done for you.

elemental fireballs
Fire: The classick boncing ball. won't turn enemies in coins anymore, instead will kill them and/or leave a small flame there for a second. Breacks Ice blocks and melts frozen enemies, which may or may not die.
Use the hopping flame sprite maybe.

Electricity: moves in a zig-zag pattern. Will paralize/rarely kill an enemy. When it colides, it'll make a thinder. if this colides with certain things, it'll do the same, affecting everything around that area.
Doing it in water hits all the enemies in the pool. Mario is wearing his rubber diving suit.

Water: slowly goes down, and slides in the ground. It'll just kill some enemies. It can make you able to go through certain blocks.
The puddle it leaves is slippery. Maybe interacts with the other powerups (electricity, ice, and fire come to mind).

Laser: goes fast and straight. It'll kill an enemy and still go o. It'll go through certain blocks, and others will change its direction.
Think Laser Kirby.

So we know he sent something small on July 10th 2006 using overnight shipping and an overpriced service from Knoxville. There are millions of small things. Try again.

Why are we even bickering about whether he mailed the cart to someone? The important question is whether the ROM is real, and it wouldn't be very hard to prove it is.

So what's the difference between these "good assholes" and "bad assholes"? I'm assuming the "good" ones do to people who aren't you what the "bad" ones do to you?
I assumed the "good" ones were amusing and the "bad" ones weren't.
See also: TV. It's amusing when it happens to someone else, but not when it happens to you.

That's made of lol. Also, I agree on the wireless thing: other than Nintendo's products, wireless tends to be a pain and shouldn't be used when not necessary. Wireless mice won't work in my room at all, we had to buy expensive new cordless phones to not fuck up our wireless router, etc...

Though, I have a problem with mice. They're either wireless and thus unreliable, shit and weak-corded, or cost ludicrous amounts.

Damn, Waldo beat me to it. Anyway, interesting development in short-range power transmission (think within the home), but until they can either bill us for it or put really annoying ads in it somehow, long-range transmission (think electric cars, no-battery cell phones) won't happen. The companies running the world are already choosing to not stop destroying it because that would reduce their profit margins.

Missingno.'s data is just random bytes from other parts of the ROM. Massive hacking would be required to point it all to free space to avoid corruption.

Game over for AACS?

Well, if that is true.

It's interesting to note that both Blu-ray and HD-DVD uses AACS...
Old news (at least for Doom9 members ), but yeah, they hacked the Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive to give up important info without authentication. Quite possible to do for Blu-ray too, but nobody cares.

BTW I found this Gameshark code for Zelda OoT on some random Japanese website:
09F91102 9D74
E35BD841 56C5
635688C0 ????
Any idea what it's supposed to do? Nevermind that the code types are all invalid, it should still do something, but I tried it in the Japanese and US versions and nothing happened. The description was just ASCII garbage with the word "debug" in it.
