We have an ONO thread, so why not?

1. Discovering that when I run 3D apps, translucent windows on the secondary monitor don't flicker!

2. Cats.

3. There is no three.

4. Jpop.

1921. "Cannot copy x: it is being used by another person or program." What? Why exactly can the system admin and owner of the file not copy it when it's in use? Silly Windows, assuming it knows better than the user.

I've considered this but it wouldn't really be ROM hacking, it'd be modding an open-source clone. That's less fun. A disassembly of the ROM, that can still be re-assembled into an SMW ROM, would be more fun to play with IMO.

Well FMA is pretty awesome, so odds are you're right.

Pistachios are better than both though.

1932. People who mistake corrections or constructive criticism for trolling and flaming.
1933. BitTorrent. No other P2P protocol program at all gives me this much trouble with port forwarding and firewalls and blah blah blah. Why is it only BitTorrent that can never get a connection to other peers even though I have all the ports forwarded and so on, and yet somehow manages to finish the download anyway but not seed at all?
1934. When after shaving, or even just trimming without touching the skin of, a given area it itches.
1935. Programs not working for no apparent reason.

1926. Similar, only, instead of copy, it's delete. If I download faulty software that won't close, I should be able to stop it from running (windows won't let me, it doesn't even show up in the process list), and delete it, this is especially annoying when somehow adware finds its way into the computer and windows won't let spybot delete it.
Delete makes sense, or you'd have idiots deleting important files, but there should be an option to allow it no matter what the case. But copying? How is that going to cause a problem? This is one of the few things I like about the Unix design: the system admin can do whatever the hell he wants, even if it's going to break the system.

Nintendo seems to love these akward level formats, especially when space is important. I guess it does save space defining levels in columns (Zelda 1, Super Mario Land), but how do you design like that? And don't get me started on OoT, I suspect crack was involved.

Mario Kart 64 has some interesting design choices too. The biggest ones I noticed were not using structures where they should or not putting everything into them (player stats are spread all over, a level's sky colour is not in its header but another table) and not taking advantage of padding (the polygon structure has an unused byte that would be perfect for alpha, but they use some other method instead, a few methods in fact).

Why did you feel the need to comment that? Anyway I'm aware of that problem but don't know how to fix it, it just seems to be choosing random heights. Sometimes it extends past the bottom of the box, and sometimes it doesn't even fill half of it. Come to think of it...

1938. CSS being finicky, not supported correctly, randomly not doing what it should, etc.

Vista isn't going to fix this. It's either a power problem or a software problem that could be fixed, if nothing else, by reinstalling XP.

I've considered a Mac too but they're bloody expensive.

C:\Program Files\PHP\ext, where they are by default. I moved it all to C:\PHP, didn't help.

That said, I taught myself how to program during a week-long power outage due to lack of anything else to do, so I guess it's not all bad.
Heh, reminds me of teaching myself OpenGL using only a few simple demos and documents that came with SDL when my Internet connection was down for a few days. But where exactly did you get the electricity to run your computer?

Fullmetal Alchemist was good until about two thirds of the way through, at which point it turned into the "MY NAME IS ED AND I WHINE A LOT" show.
Being at episode 20, this is displeasing.

I vote we filter "objection" to that image Xk posted in another thread scanned from the PW2 manual.

Heh, ROM bank 0x13 in Pokémon G/S is completely empty. This was probably a compiler bug, since the previous bank is completely full. I think there's a few others too.

Hm, if the idea is to actually port SMW, rather than cloning it from scratch, wouldn't we first need a complete disassembly anyway to base the code on?
