If I want my pages to look right in every browser then I have to write two pages: One for IE and one for everything else. Fortunately, I don't care that much. If it's useable in IE, I leave it as-is, and generally throw in a little note about IE's suckiness.

Also, Firefox has extensions = massive win.

Extensions (enabled: 38, disabled: 0):

* Adblock 0.5.3.043
* Add N Edit Cookies 0.2.1.0
* ChatZilla 0.9.77
* CustomizeGoogle 0.55
* DOM Inspector 1.8.0.11
* DownThemAll! 0.9.9.7
* Flashblock 1.5.2
* Forecastfox 0.9.5.2
* FoxClocks 2.0.20
* FxIF 0.2.2
* Gmail Space 0.5.1
* IE Tab 1.3.1.20070126
* InfoLister 0.9f
* InFormEnter 0.5.2.1
* Internote 2.1.1
* MeasureIt 0.3.6
* Menu Editor 1.2.3
* Modify Headers 0.5.4
* Moji 0.8.1
* Moji-En 0.4.1
* Moji-Kanji-En 0.4.2
* MR Tech About:About 2.2
* Nuke Anything 0.2
* Plain Text Links 0.2
* Redirect Remover 2.3
* RefControl 0.8.9
* Resize Search Box 0.0.7
* Show Image 0.4.1
* Sort Extensions and Themes 3.0.3
* Tab Mix Plus 0.3.5.2
* Talkback 1.5.0.11
* TargetKiller 0.4
* Torbutton 1.0.4
* User Agent Switcher 0.6.9
* VideoDownloader 1.1.1
* View Source Chart 2.6
* Web Developer 1.0.2
* WellRounded 0.43

You have to be careful though as conflicting or poorly written extensions can really make it suck.

As for IE...

So what did you use to make that list with links? I used InfoLister but it doesn't make links, unless there's a new version that does.

Hm, once the AI data is figured out, you could use this to automatically generate the paths for new tracks. Does yours do everything by itself or do you have to plot a few points first? A variation on this could be useful in my MK64 editor, once it's capable of actually editing things.

Hah, once in school I was leaning against a floor-level window with a friend of mine, both playing Game Boy... some idiot decided to try to scare us by kicking it. Yeah, it shattered and he got suspended for quite some time. I was alright, the other guy got a few nicks.

Thing is too, if you learned to type correctly, you'd get good at it and be able to type correctly as fast as, or faster than people who type like they're on a cell phone.

Generally JPEG is suitable unless you need pixel-perfect quality. Paint may make them look like crap, but the format allows for varying compression quality (better-looking images versus smaller files).

As for BMP being backward, it's a Microsoft format. Windows even stores images upside-down in memory, but you can use negative heights to read them right-side-up.

1414. ROM sites, period. Probably 90% of them don't actually have ROMs, just "k vote for us on this and this and this site and then click the button" and when you do, you get more of the same. Fortunately, for those that do in fact have ROMs, they always use the same copy-and-paste Javascript (sometimes not even changing the code, so you're actually voting for the site they copied it from ), so it's easy to bypass. However, that's ruined with recent consoles *cough*GBA*cough* by...

1415. Intros on ROMs. (This includes unskippable intro sequences added by the game developers themselves, ahem Rare.) I don't give a fuck who copied it, I don't want to see your "ooh look what I can do" 4-minute-long animation every time I open the file, I don't want your bullshit getting in the way when I try to hack the ROM. This is why I dump my own ROMs now, because all the dumps I find online are useless! Similar applies to animé fansubs. "Hey lets put our logo in every 5 minutes, and throughout every intro/credits scene to kill the ability to take screenshots, and use every special effect in the video editor on it! And let's use hardsubs because nobody will ever want to take a screenshot or use a different font or fix a mistake in them!"

Also I remembered the other work-related one I was going to post:
1416. People who read the menu, then ask for the ten-dollar wash. OK, and which of the two ten-dollar washes was that?

You'll need to use the API. Check out BitBlt, CreateCompatibleDC, etc. It's a bit difficult at first but once you get used to it it's pretty simple.

There may be some VB hackery to do it but pfft, that's just going to be slow and hog resources.

Looks like the alpha-blended textures are stored as RGBA 3328. I've never seen this format used before... It's hard to tell if that's quite right though, as there only seem to be 3 of them in the game - DK Jungle's waterfall (which is also animated ), part of Koopa Beach's waterfall (even though the entire polygon is already translucent, so using a translucent texture is pointless), and Wario Stadium's lights (which are completely white). I'll have to try adding some of my own to see if I've got it right, but this renders the existing ones just fine.

Mind the missing stars and the mockery JPEG made of the sky.

Hyperhacker, may I direct you to The mario Kart AI thread? Or are you talking about the N64 version? :p
Yeah, I've seen that. I'm saying this could be integrated into an SMK (or MK64 with some work) editor to automatically create new AI data for a new track. Just drop down a few points or tell it which tiles are track tiles, and let it go. (Or in MK64's case, use the bitmap method; render the track with no textures and all polygons a solid colour, from above, on a background of a different solid colour. Use the polygon's height to determine the point's height, and there you go.)

Smart middle click I only use for one site. It makes it so middle-clicking javascript links actually opens the link in a new tab instead of trying to open the javascript command in a new tab.
OMFG thank you. That's like the most annoying "feature" of Firefox.

Save your PNGs and JPEG/JPGs in any decent editor.
That way you can set the compression.
Fixed.

And remember there's the 60x60 one for the memberlist as well, automatically resized (and saved as PNG) from whatever you upload

It's not a matter of misclicking, it's a matter of instinctively clicking there after reading a list of PMs or a thread in that one forum where it shows up instead of Mark Forum Read.
