Posted by SamuraiX Our school isn't quite like that, but some of us get a little something. If you are a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), you get a couple of privileges. Mainly, being able to leave school grounds during a study hall. You get pretty much the same deal for Senior Privelages, but I still find it cool because I'm not a senior yet. Plus, I usually have a study hall at the end of the day, so I like to be able to leave early on Fridays. Now, that being said, I've never actually skipped a class (besides being sick, of course). It's not that I like every class, but most of them are okay. It's because I live in the middle of nowhere, and there's nothing fun to do within half an hour of here. Also, my parents are pretty strict and they'd kill me. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

You know, it has to be things like this that happen whenever I disappear for more than a month... It's not actually a big deal for me. I think it's just that I've always been a major lurker (anyone remember me? Anyone? ) and I never got far in the first place without starting over.
Still, despite the fact that the split was more or less a Bad Thing (tm), I can't help but like the title the wiki has for it: "The Faction Split of 2007". It just... sounds so formal, or official or something. Nevermind, I'm just kinda rambling now... ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

This is a pretty tough question for me, because I eventually want to make a career out of it but don't have many ideas. The main idea I have at this point is to make a game similar to the Morrowind and Oblivion games of RPG fame, with a couple extra features. I'd like to find a way to also allow randomly generated landscapes. Dungeons aren't hard (roguelikes mastered it decades ago) but I've yet to see a quality game with randomly generated 3d landscape, you know, hills and all. I'd make completely random game settings if I could; that part would be sorta like Daggerfall.
I also want to allow players to alter landscape, build stuff, etc. So, basically a combo of Oblivion and a 1-man Simcity. A coding nightmare if there ever was one. Actually, though, my main obstacle to making any game at all is that I'm a completely horrible artist. I had an extremely early beta using Dark Basic Professional at one point, but I stopped 'cause I paid $40 for more commands (plugins, whatever) and they wouldn't validate themselves. If I do continue with that idea, I'd be starting over completely and using Python instead. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

My full initials are JDMS. Yeah, most of the people in my family actually have two middle names, for some reason... I usually use the first one, so JDS. I'm sure you can figure out the J from my username, and my middle name is David, after my dad.
Err... on a semi-related note, my username is kinda long, so you can just write Jordan for short or something. I don't care, as long as I know it's me. I'm just not too creative with usernames. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

I almost always use some poor quality speakers that cost maybe $20 because the alternative is even poorer quality headphones. I just don't spend much on audio related stuff. The volume issue isn't important because my room is on the other side of the house from the rest of them. The speakers suit me well enough, I guess, but how would I know without trying out some better ones?
EDIT: My bad. I should google stuff before I make assumptions. Looks like you can actually get relatively decent speakers for $20. The closest I found to the speakers I have cost a whopping $4. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

I guess I've been around longer than I thought (profile says 6/2/02). I don't really consider myself an oldbie though. I was extremely inactive for most of that, and when I was around, I didn't post much. I was something of a professional lurker.
On a semi-related note, you ever get that feeling when you come across something you said a long time ago? The one that makes you say, "God, I was such a noob then!"? That's how I feel after browsing a couple of my posts in the archive. I've grown up quite a bit since then, though. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

My Linux Distro of the Week/Month/Whenever:
Yeah, boring, I know. But I just installed it about a week or two ago. I'll get my Windows desktop up sooner or later, but it's just as boring. Most of those video game related wallpapers look cool, but I wouldn't know what to do if I wanted something like that... I have way too many favorite games. ____________________ What sig? Posted by TheGreatGuy I know what you mean. I had a dream a week or so ago where I was playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Wii. But we don't even have a Wii yet. As for more recently, two nights ago I kept waking up from dreams. There were two or three, but I didn't write them down so I can't remember. All I remember about this morning's was something about a spaceship, or spaceplane or something like that. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

Seeing everyone else's avatars made me decide to get off my butt and find my own. This one is just a resized pic of Super Paper Mario that I found off the 'net. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

Well, it was quite a long time ago, but it definitely involved googling something about rom hacking. I found this site sometime in '02 I believe. My interest in rom hacking didn't last very long, but I stayed here anyway. And I've been extremely inactive ever since. Seriously, I post a lot for two or three days and then disappear for a month or more. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

I'm not planning on getting either for quite a while because, even though I like pokemon games, I don't play them often enough to finish the ones I have already. On the other hand, we went to the mall today and my little brother picked up Diamond, so I'll probably get Pearl at some point... ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

Things are going great here, and we finally bought a Wii today. Right now, we have LoZ: TP, Super Paper Mario, the included Wiimote, and Wii Sports. Actually, we've had Twilight Princess since Christmas, so it's great to actually be able to play it. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

Aren't you guys forgetting strawberry soda? Seriously, it's been a long time since I've had that stuff, but it's goood.
Now as far as Pepsi vs. Coke, I really don't notice a difference. That's probably because my parents buy whatever happens to be on sale at the time. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

I used to use Ubuntu for a while. It didn't really like my ATI card, but then again, I've done distro hopping, and most of them were the same way. It's not a bad distro IMO, but I switched to Arch Linux because I like to tweak sometimes.
I also keep windows around for when I don't feel like tweaking. I don't like messing around with Wine to get windows games working. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

All of that stuff does look cool, but my desktop is messy enough without the help of technology. It looks like that Bumptop thing gets in the way more than it helps. I don't see my desktop most of the time anyway, so if it did help me out somehow it wouldn't exactly be a huge timesaver. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |

I finally got this game along with our Wii on Wednesday, and it is an awesome game so far. I've just finished with chapter four, and the game has great plot twists.
Spoiler:
For example, Luigi helping the enemy? That's never happened before IIRC. Sure sure, he was brainwashed, but still. Plus, few games make me LOL anymore. Super Paper Mario is one of them. ____________________ What sig? I don't have a sig. |
