Posted by XTTX Yes. I plan on doing a Super Mario World hack, where I restore lost levels, add beta features and fix bugs. I also plan on restoring a Japanese Pokemon Blue and Yellow. These will happen later on this year. I have already started working on the SMW and Blue version. ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Posted by XTTX Thanks. I do plan to stay here as a regular. As of now, it seems my next release will be the SMW sometime around June/July. It is taking a lot of work to do it. ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Have you been true to yourself and made the most of your day? |

I'm looking for some ideas. It's official that I'm going to fix the A-3 and B-1 spring glitch, left over from the original, but what do you all think about me removing halfway points in Worlds A-D to reflect the SMAS SNES version? I like that the SNES version is more difficult, in some ways. I've already made Hammer Bros aggressive and Bowser throw hammers in Worlds A-D. Thanks. ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Have you been true to yourself and made the most of your day? |

Posted by Vanya Thank you for the feedback, Vanya. I have started working on improving on this game. So far, it is looking good! It should be ready in a few days. EDIT: I actually found residual code that I made use of, a new beta mode is now included! Until then, the rest is a surprise!!! ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Have you been true to yourself and made the most of your day? |

Posted by XTTX Thanks. Release date is 03/21/14, or the second day of Spring (Friday). My coding seems stable. Almost done testing it. ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Have you been true to yourself and made the most of your day? |

Posted by XTTX Thank you. "MOOAARRRR" is here! Unfortunately, I have found a glitch, which I have corrected. On D-4, I accidentally omitted the Wind while adding the block to match the ANNSMB addition of a block. That has been fixed! I'm glad that you've enjoyed my current work. Well, you're really gonna love this! Keep reading on! @Everyone Remember how I mentioned a beta feature that I 'discovered'? Well let me try to explain it. In the original SMB1, when you beat 8-4, the player is granted a new "hard mode" in which Koopas and other enemies move faster, Buzzy Beetles replace Goombas, and other minor differences. Well, I was bored one afternoon and saw that on the Super Mario Allstars version of "The Lost Levels" (SMB2J) contains that mode for Worlds A-D!!!! I was surprised by this. I looked at my disassembly for the FDS version and saw that it was fully coded to include this "hard mode"! It appeared to be residual code left over from SMB1. So...what was I to do? I had no choice but to resurrect this feature in SMB2J (Side B) of my game for Worlds A-D!!!! It now includes this beta element, which was possibly intended but omitted. (0.o) What else? *Removed half way point to Worlds A-D (Sorry Vanya; if you want a patch with em' intact, just PM me.) *Fixed the Springboard glitch on A-3 left over from the original version made by Nintendo. *A-3 Corrected data to add the extra 2 Bloopers found in ANNSMB. More enemies = more fun! *A-3 Made the wind last longer. I hated that it was so short to begin with. *Added more enemies to B-1. *Corrected the omitted Wind from D-4 Now, I don't blame people for not wanting to beat Worlds 1-8(9) 8 times to accumulate 8 stars...so I'll just give you the offset to give yourself the 8 stars to try this. Though, I personally think it's better to beat it 8 times. Use a hex editor to change the value:
That's not all! In the original FDS version, unedited Worlds A-D were much easier. Since I borrowed heavily from the more developed Allstars version (SNES), it is now harder! In fact, they are diabolically evil. With aggressive Hammer Bros, hammer Bowser and faster Fire Bars. These are new additions to the beta mode. In addition, one of the Fire Bar is a beta enemy! Yep. ============================================= I challenge any fans to try beating Worlds A-D without using a single warp zone. Take a picture at the end of each castle as proof, and upload it and I will present you with a special PM containing a patch to one of my unreleased hacks...from my secret stash!!!!! (First time I ever do this.) Now, it is hard, but not impossible. (C-4 is the hardest.) I have beaten all 52 stages of the game as proof. I have not used any cheats, either. You are forbidden from cheating if you participate. Also, a new palette file with better compatibility with ALL NES/FDS games! REMEMBER THE RULES...No savestates, cheats and show the pics. Enjoy!!! ============================================= I don't really have new pics. But here is 9-4, which I have translated from the original Japanese message "Arigatou": Thank You. And...they use the beta blocks! Patch it to a clean, unheadered SMB1 FDS ROM. Patch: http://www.mediafire.com/download/8fpxg1ikxxjx3z4/SMB1.5_&_SMB2J_(Japan)_(REV_B).ips Palette file:http://www.mediafire.com/download/6x9jodl8k434eg8/Custom.pal ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Okay. So I rarely make mistakes.
Daniel (a member from my forum) found a bug with the Safari Zone with wild Pokemon appearing in the central rest house. That has now been fixed. If anyone finds further issues, please inform me ASAP. Thank you. Red: http://www.mediafire.com/download/u60s048ts86vxtw/Pokemon_-_Red_Version_(USA)_(Rev_D)_(SGB_Enhanced).ips Green: http://www.mediafire.com/download/ecb76wuuccls76d/Pokemon_-_Green_Version_(USA)_(Rev_D)_(SGB_Enhanced).ips EDIT: Here's Blue, too. Since many people have requested that I translate this. I originally thought it was pointless, since most sprites (not all) are the same as Blue Japan, but the wild Pokémon data is really different. Also, text in Blue Japan was (mostly) identical to Green Japan (even the origin of Mew in Cinnabar Mansion's diaries), so I decided to translate this, too. What I did was "re-hack" me Green, which is already a hack of Blue to make this. Now, I've done only 1 thing different form Blue Japan, apart from bug fixes. On S.S Anne, I've made use of a beta song that Koolboyman found sometime recently. I've also made use of beta blocks. Missingno. fix, Invisible PC fix and various other bug fixes remain in this. 100% translated and adapted to match Blue Japan. Should there be a problem (highly unlikely) you can share it with me. I've changed everything from the copyright date to SGB border, etc. Beta music KBM found is here! Lots of wild Pokémon differences in Blue Japan, such as Lv. 64 Clefairy and Lv. 49 Rapidash found in Cerulean Cave. (I ripped the wild Pokémon data directly from Blue Japan, so it's impossible to be wrong.) Beta blocks made use of in Unknown Dungeon! Patch this to a clean Pokémon Blue ROM: http://www.mediafire.com/download/y69gnyyg8gdnr1p/Pokemon_-_Blue_Version_(USA)_(Rev_D)_(SGB_Enhanced).ips ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Posted by kunio1031Posted by Chaobomr I had that same issue while making Magical Note Blocks 2's bonus (GBA e-level). This is how I fixed it: The autoscrolls are activated by having the autoscroll object at a certain Y position, and this position can be as low as 0x80, but SMB3 Workshop doesn't let you move anything below 0x1A. EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm sure you knew this but for the level's header, make sure that "Ship autoscrolling" is selected when creating a new level if it did not previously have that. ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Posted by 32x1000 Well, what I would do is use FCEUX's PPU viewer to see the tile numbers for the characters. If it uses 4-6 tiles just look up the tile numbers with YY-CHR (a GFX editing tool) and make them bigger. Try that first as they probably don't use their full tile space. For the power-up, if you don't want them to shrink look up the LDA which contains their value using FCEUX'z Code/Data logger: http://www.fceux.com/web/help/fceux.html?CodeDataLogger.html Here are SMB2 helps: ROM Map: http://datacrystal.romhacking.net/wiki/Super_Mario_Bros._2:ROM_map RAM Map: http://datacrystal.romhacking.net/wiki/Super_Mario_Bros._2:RAM_map Tools: http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/181/ and http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/429/ ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Posted by 32x1000 LDA is load accumulator with a value. Register A is responsible for handling logic and arithmetic in the 6502 processor. In this case, you will be searching for an immediate value. It is pretty clear that you don't know ASM, the programming genre of NES hacking. I suggest that you try to learn it, or this will be a tedious task. If you have questions about any of the mnemonics, PM me and I will be glad to explain them to you. Or, you can ask me here. I know it may seem hard, but try to understand this link. What you don't understand, ask. http://skilldrick.github.io/easy6502/ ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Well, there's one for Adventure Island 3: http://acmlm.kafuka.org/board/thread.php?pid=67520#67520
EDIT: I did a Google search for it and only found one hack of Adv Isle I by Macbee. It seems that appearently it must not be popular in the hacking realm. Datacrystal did not even have anything on the game's data. Not even the most basic notes. ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Posted by Chaobomr Thanks. The reason I didn't give him too much detail was that I was afraid I'd overwhelm him. Though, the reference sheet is good. Did you know about these? You can do transfers, but only through the accumulator. Like, say I wanted to store the value from X into Y, I cannot do TXY, I would need to do TXA then TAY. It sucks, though I never had an occurrence where I needed to do that. Thanks again for pointing those out, Chaobomr. ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Posted by LeviathanMist I like the effort! Those two "glitches" that you mentioned were in the original. They were not caused on my part. The vine actually has to do with OAM and how horizontal scrolling works. I'm not sure what causes the Wind glitch, though. Though, I was able to add skid sound while wind is blowing. Something that the original version omitted. The sprite shuffler code is what determines z-order on sprites. I can try to raise the z-order for the blocks when wind blows, though it might not be that easy. PS Did you record the live stream? I would enjoy watching. ____________________ At the end, when the day is over, the only one left to face is yourself. Have you been true to yourself and made the most of your day? |
