i would looove to see any megaman X editor. It sure sounds to me like there's defintely enough data based on Goldz findings throughout that message board thread on the sonic retro website, maybe not for designing levels yet on how to load them, but most anything else though.

Well goodluck, I'll look forward to it later on. I ain't going to try playing it for now. Since i'm busy working on my own mm3 hack. But that's cool though so GL.

Also, you probably already may know this, but a few days ago some japanese person linked to one of your youtube videos misunderstanding thinking that it was the author of rockman DEM. about your mm showdown 2...and then everyone got really upset and mad for the past severeal days saying that a song from DEM was taken without the author's permission from what I can make out i think.

I might be wrong, they may be referring to someone else, but cause it was one of your videos, they might of meant you, but I'm not sure.

So just be careful if you decide for any reason to put music into the hack, especially if it's from other hacks, may cause some trouble. I can not be certain.

I just wanted to let you know. And i am not trying to sound like a tattle-taler

Alright. Well i don't think you really had to just delete it. But well whatever you choose to do, that's up to you.

I totally have respect for the japanese too. It took a few months for them to trust me at first when i started posting on 2ch, but I very quickly gained their respect, and they can understand me.

I'm not liking it much at all.

http://www.a3share.com/members/1119/yychrnew.PNG - i just hope it won't look like this on the english version in the future.

**There's a ton of empty blank space on the main windows on the left and right side
** The buttons on the far right are all cut off.
** The whole entire program window is not resizeable anywhere at all period
** If i click on any of that blank space, an error pops up:
http://www.a3share.com/members/1119/error.PNG
** The whole program constantly keeps refreshing every time you click anywhere, reminds me of the old fceuxd 0.98 where the memory viewer and debugging windows refreshed so damn much that it was impossible to click anything.

It's very buggy to be honest.

http://rafb.net/p/77s5D841.html and here's a pretty good assumption of the 0.99 updates readme

Ive recently started to feel the same way a little bit about my own hack. That i shouldn't even be keeping it a secret from anyone anymore. The fact that i made my own 1 level demo of boltman a couple months ago.

And well, i uploaded here on acmlm boards uploader space. (the hacks page)

Well i tried your rom out just now, pretty cool stuff. I did not ever want to try those options about getting all weapons and items and stuff...no way. so like i didn't read the opening story. Not that i dont want to, but just cause i'd rather wait and all.

And I have no idea what is Haikei patch does from rock5easily. At least the source code is provided for Haikei whenever I going to code it into another version.

The readme file says that it adds the foreground (megaman beind background) property. Because it was only used in toadman originally, and was impossible to ever use it for anything else in the game cause it was hard-coded. Really pretty stupid honestly that it wasn't allowed for any level in the game for the level data format for MM4.

So that you can use that property for any level now. Whatever TSA block property that the rain blocks was using from toad.

Ah that's pretty cool Dr hell.
I would of tried to do that for my Map System on my megaman 3 hack about making the squares as wide/tall as the current scolling position your at in a level, like a hallway being 4 screens for example, and the map system displaying a 4-tile wide square, and so on, but that would of been waaaay too difficult for me to know how to do.

And because the mm games do not have 8-way scrolling like Mario3, kirby adventure and others, it's pretty pointless to even do.
Mine are just all seperated into a individual 8x8 squares as so:

Well im not sure yet. I can, but i dont know when I will if i do. And i surely would not want the special items to be shown by default already, but rather at some point later in the game, or like maybe having to find an extra little upgrade somewhere in a level to be able to show the locations of stuff. We'll see. For now, not yet.

Yea i dont like it either..about the game over song being re-vamped from the original...it seriously freaks me out.

And thank god matrixz did NOT keep the super creepy looking giant "game over" red text from one of his earlier demos before this one...that was really scary looking.
No offense to you matrixz.

Yea it's okay to have a couple extra colors like how some bosses on mm5 and mm6 do...but the thing is, you can't just over-do it too much cause you'll quickly increase sprite flicker and slowdown the more you do it.

If you look at speedremix's custom sprites he draws here...he does that alot...and it is a problem cause he puts waaay too much detail into his sprites. That's not saying it's bad or anything...but it defintely would become a problem if they were used in a real NES rom hack as opposed to those fan game projects where there are no limits, heh...

If he see me saying this, im sorry if i sound bad or something, i never meant to.

How do you exactly import the music from other games? I know where the music data is since I held on the document and I have a few tools related to music.

RockMidi2Nsf (For Mega Man 3 to 6 games) - Will be used with my MM4 hack.

that thing is like seriously impossible to use. it never works. I once tried to use it and thought of every little thing to try doing and no matter what the generated nsf's would never ever work or play.
The author himself, puresabe once told me that it's actually buggy and he wishes he never made the program in the first place..

hey!! why the hell did you guys delete almost everything off the megaman 2 and 4 pages today ?? That's seriously NOT cool ... it was fine the way it was!

http://www.datacrystal.org/wikid/index.php?title=Mega_Man_IV&curid=1759&diff=21397&oldid=21367

http://www.datacrystal.org/wikid/index.php?title=Mega_Man_II&curid=1757&diff=21396&oldid=21387

All that information was USEFUL ....it did not have to be deleted. You guys could have just put the link to romhacking.net there without deleting all the damn stuff... Cause i personally go there to check on the megaman sections frequently myself to see the names of hacks in progress, that were completed, or cancelled, etc ....

May i just bring that page back or are you guys going to delete it again if i do, cause that was seriously all useful information, it's not junk....

I don't know if this danke guy is on this board or not...but that was not cool seriously.

Freaking figures!
I restored it...and then he deleted it again ...
i hate the decision 100%
Just because "if it's not at romhacking.net, then it's not allowed to be here" or some crap

If they start deleting all the artciles people wrote for megaman hacks about like weapon changes or music changes and new enemies and stuff explained about these hacks.....then screw datacrystal

Well once time in the past, i've tried the mm3-6 one with countless midi's i'd download all over the internet .. and even went as far as to try downloading some sort of midi format converter program having Zero knowledge of anything about "midi" at all ... trying to convert them to like format 0, 1, 2 ... constantly keep trying that megaman midi program over and over ... never once succeeded.

How is this supposed to work?

I apply the IPS patch and it just makes a clean un-modified zelda link to a past rom become corrupted.

I tried it on:
Snes 9x 1.43 says it's just fine and perfect, no problems
Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (E) [!].smc

Once i try the IPS ..it just makes the rom bad and doesn't load whatsoever.

I haven't tried the hack yet, but I'm willing to bet that "(E)" is your problem. Get the American (U) version of the ROM.

Okay yea that works thanks.

I just trying to help him, Kawa. Anyway, nobody of you hackers have tried to make a intro for Rockman(Megaman) 3. The existing void can be used for this kind of scenario.
You have the knowledge and the people to do such a kind of intro.

i'll defintely be doing a whole entire intro thing for my game in the far future. not anytime soon cause i dont got a name for my game or a official storyline thought-of either, heh. :|

Yea same here about amarcum81 about nice level design. I agree.
I've tried 3 stages so far, needle, top, spark.

At first like when i played needle, down in that first hallway underground ..there was a part where ya jump off a platform above a bottomless pit, so i did ...and then i got surprise attacked by a pesky mosquito and fell and die instantly...

I was like "oh damn i didn't know that was going to happen, i liked it!" Outloud to myself, hehe.

Died alot of times on spark, cause of the clever level design of some areas. Like where the extra life is, i tried to go for it pushing against the wall to the right, but i didn't make it in the opening, and then died at the spikes a couple inches below.

Well i stopped for the momment, but im liking it so far. Will play it more later

oh by the way, i told Vixy of the rockman PM forums about your hack release, and she made a page for it on the website, to link to YOUR website for people that find it via there.
