oh no, the water attribute dont ever work no matter what level ya try except wily 2 like insectduel said ??
man that's so stupid that this game also resorts to forcing certain TSA properties to only work on a specific level instead of anytime-anywhere. megaman 4 does that with quite a few. it should be allowed anywhere. the code would need to be edited in order to have it anywhere. i did it with mm4's properties before when working together with infidel on his ultra 2 hack one time a very long time ago so that all those 1-time only properties could be used anywhere. |

I hope this all dont sound stupid, and it prob wont ever matter to anyone, or anyone even notice but something i noticed that really bugs me. and i know it's too late for me to say since you already released your demo, but im going to apply this change to the rom and click save on the hex editor while i play anyway.
When opening and closing the pause menu, it sounds like there's some kind of static hiccup. At first i thought like something's wrong with my sound or my computer is lagging or something. So i repeatedly open and close the menu like 20 times and keep hearing it. I go test in nintendulator and nestopia emulators - same thing. I was still scared it was my comp and NOT your game...but i did a little research with fceuxd hex editor. I compared your sound effect data to megaman 5's. It checks out OK. So that's not it. i disable the music from playing so i only hear sound effects. that dont help. I then change megaman's shooting noise to the pause menu, i do not hear this static thing. Soooo i traced your code and found the cause of this problem. You write some numbers to the $4011 register when opening/closing. When open you do a 7F to 4011, when closed, you do a 00 to 4011..i have no idea in the world what it means, but i NOP'd those writes out, and the static hiccup no longer happens anymore thankfully. So it was not anything wrong with my comp after all. what the heck is that about ?? im just curious |

ya cant put a image into the rom ...that's fan game projects, not rom hack.
ya gotta use either YY-CHR or Tile Layer Pro and do it all by hand drawing the stuff in or copy-pasting in the tiles from another rom into that with either one of those 2 tile editing programs. You can get them both from www.romhacking.net |

im sorry i cant help specifically with mm2. I have zero knowledge or know where anyhting is located in mm2 reguarding sprite frames, x/y positions for each tile, sprite color, and tile id numbers for them which is the main thing you'd have to change.
Im only experienced with mm3 and mm4. |

i totally know what ya mean about that.
im always constantly complaining to myself seriously tons of times how i wish i could get to have stuff on my game like SNES or genesis countless times ughhh.. Like "i wish i could have just 1 single little more color in order to make so and so appear correctly...or fix certain enemies mixed with others" "i wish i could have this opcode from the SNES for programming" "i wish i could...blah blah blah so many other things" but i know we have to just deal with nes limits. |

since there never was any intro originally in mm3 while all the other NES games did have one except for mm1 ...it would have to be all done from pure scratch, so that means you'd have to know NES ASM very well first before getting to even attempt such a thing.
sorry to disappoint. |

not exactly, no.
the only thing that can truly be copy-pasted between mm3-6 freely with zero problems, is music and sound effects because the music engine for those games is purely 100% the same byte-for-byte so it makes copy-pasting music and sound between the games super extremely easy with no side effects. but as far as anything else is concerned, cant copy-paste any other form of code between the games because the registers and stuff like weapon's life. enemies, level data...and all those things are not the same as each other. |

it's no prob. just will take some time and all.
first gotta plan out ..what song do you want to take from mm5 specifically...and then ..what song should you choose to want to over-write on mm3. the main thing is like tons of jump's and pointers must be changed in the mm5 song in order to point to the correct places when pasted in mm3. takes a long time to find it all since there could be dozens. i believe matrixz (author of megaman forever) has some program that can do it automatically so you would not have to hex edit it by hand ..i dont have such program though. instrument settings have to be changed too, but that's tricky. overwriting those should not be done cause lots of songs may share the same sets. uhhhh this all just involves needing to change the pointers mainly after copy-pasting it over first. |

wow awesome looking pause menu design. i totally like it. When i looked at your post and my first few seconds at seeing that screenshot...i thought it was like a SNES mm X1-3 setup...but then i realized looking closer..it's his own setup. awesome. |

did youy use that IPS patch from the 8/29 entry ? your not supposed to.
You have to go to the main rockman 4 page on his site, and get the zip file from the latest dated entry. extract all the files to a folder and put a clean rockman4.nes in it. Double click the "rm4mipatch.exe" .. select the rockman4.nes to open 2 DOS windows appear, just press enter on them both to close them it makes 2 nes rom files. that's it your done. play the rockman4mmc5.nes .. NOT mmc3 |

Maricman
umm you on windows vista or 7 by any chance ? if so, that might be the reason why it's not working for you then. because some people on 2ch have talked about how the patching program wont ever work for them either. like as if the author somehow doesn't have it support anything other than windows xp i think. |

If you really wish to, do this:
in the fceux hex editor... 3BE1C - 4C 25 BE just go to that spot and type those 3 hex numbers there, a 4C 25 BE it will skip over the item event code when collecting refills and do precisly what you say. This also effects extra lives. it cant be helped. |

well i have the tendency to not being able to do anything or concentrate on doing anything without the level graphics done first. as stupid as that may sound. i've always been this way.
i dont even bother trying to ask anyone anymore cause it's soooo helpless. |

i personally perfer uploading my game here to acmlm board's uploader. As i did with boltman, and the duplexman demo's.
I like this place cause it shows a download counter. My duplex demo (of feburary 2010) has been downloaded 1062 times! according to what the acmlm board uploader says. amazing |
