Thanks, I really appreciate the input . I've been using data Crystal, but I don't know any other advanced hex editors. If you know any throw them my way and i'll check them out

Ok, i'll fix up those things as soon as I can. As for the color variety I can make an update patch with the changes if you like, or I can post screenshots, or both.

This looks pretty sweet, man. When I come back from the park I'm gonna play this! It looks like you're really taking your time with this. The dragon looks badass

-Thanks, I'm putting a lot of effort into the hack, more than I have with any other
before.

-as for the Jurassic boy hack with sonic, I did some graphical editing past the most recent patch, but haven't done anything since (Due to the fact that I didn't know, and still don't fully understand, ASM.) However I might do a bit more with it

Much better, it feels like a legit Sonic game. I beat this a while back, all that needs to be done is the title screen, Sonic rising out of the hole, and the ending. So far you did a great job with this.

Thanks, I'll fix up the title screen and the ending no problemo

I haven't posted anything on this board in a very long time, but I'm thinking of hopping on more often for sure. To celebrate, a bunch of pixel art I've done lol.

They're all for a series I've been developing (It's called BlastHead) and each image is made with a certain game console or GPU's limitations in mind.

For TMS9928a compatible systems

For SEGA Master System:

For NES:

For SEGA Genesis:

So tiny lmao

And why not, here's a drawing of the character, as well as the drawing I used for some of the pixel art:

BlastHead!

DaynaMite!

I hope you guys enjoy these, and I look forward to posting some more; Whatever it may be lol.

These look really good you have that weird flair like googie does when he hacks.
Are you basing you're drawings and rom hack to a particular tv series, comics, or a game ?
The only thing that I see is tiny toons or one of the wb cartoon series back in the old days.
I like to see some game footage to see what its like in action.

Thanks for the compliment, I'm a big fan of Googie's work!
These were my original creations, not based on anything lol.
I haven't touched ROM hacking in a long time, but I may try to make the game a homebrew for an older console, haven't decided yet.

I'm not too sure if this will work out or not but toe jam and earl would be the way to use as a base for direct homebrew.
Then their is one of the disney capcom nes games, if you can make sense out of game maker studio.
That would be the way first I would go, especially if you intend to have animated sprites and what not.
When I played am2r last year doctor m 64 really displayed what its like to make a custom game with all the works.

I think I would want the game to be similar to some of the classic "Black Box" NES games, but that's just an idea lol. I'm currently learning C++ so I would probably use that for the coding side of things, and Game Maker as a engine if it was compatible with C++.

Sorry for the big bump, but this hack still interests me. Have you ever worked on the changes that needed to be changed? I'm only asking because I'm playing through this hack, too.

I did fix part of the title screen after the last update, but I don't believe I ever finished the ending. Here's the most recent patch of the hack if you're interested:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/5xfgvmzr2r226rf/SonicBoy2.ips/file

If there's anything else you want me to add, just let me know

(Also, my apologies for forgetting how to create proper links.)
